Port cruise seattle stay

hello.. we will be departing the ship on Saturday.. flying out of Seattle on Monday.. what hotels would you recommend that may be near to some site seeing locations? near restaurants? what are some "must see" locations? things? etc.. whats your thoughts on visiting the space needle? Pike Market? South Center? thanks for your help

Pile place market, Seattle Center and the Space Needle, museum of flight is also fun. You could take a ferry ride to Bremerton or Bainbridge Island. Klondike National historic site is cool as well. Lots to see and do and it depends on you budget and interest level.

I can recommend the Mayflower Park hotel as a nice mid-range hotel in a great location. It's literally next door to the Monorail, which takes you to Seattle Center -- home to the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden & Glass, Seattle Science Center, and the Museum of Pop Culture (used to be called the Experience Music Project). It's also a 4- to 5-block walk to Pike Place Market (or an easy cab ride). The hotel is older, but is beautifully finished. It has a good restaurant, but you're only a block away from the Dahlia Lounge, one of the Tom Douglas restaurants that feature NW cuisine.

I've stayed there several times while having work done on the house -- you really can't beat the location.

Within walking distance of Seattle Center (literally across the street) are the Hyatt House Seattle Downtown (same price range as Mayflower Park). A further block away is the Best Western Executive Inn (a little lower cost). I've stayed at the Best Western a time or two, but not at the Hyatt House.

That should get you started, I think. :)

We just returned this past Saturday off the Eurodam and flew home Monday as well - stayed at the Moore Hotel on 2nd and Virginia. Clean, cheap and extremely well located just two blocks from Pikes Place as well as two blocks to the Westlake station of the light rail.

Be aware that the ferry system has really struggled this summer. They have 22 boats, need 19 to operate the summer schedule, and spent weeks with at best 18 boats working. One of the two boats on the Bremerton run has engine problems, so they're just running it on one engine until they can get enough other boats back in service to finally take this one off the run yet keep two boats on it (it's the longest run at 60 minutes of all the WSF trips except perhaps the inter-islands run up north). However, it's running a lot slower, so they've totally doctored up the schedule as a result. If you're looking for a slow, peaceful ride, seek out the Kaleetan. ;)

If you're into flight and have transportation, head north of Seattle to Everett (actually Mukilteo) and do the Boeing Factory Tour. It's about $25pp (seasonal pricing, discounts, etc. may influence the price), lasts 90 minutes plus free time in a "micro-museum" and/or outdoor viewing area, and gives you a high-level view of building 747s, 777s, and 787s, with a tiny glimpse of where they build 767s.
