herbanrenewal Posted August 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2017 I'm cruising this fall with a small group (12 people). My travel compaion is having health issues that may force her to cancel - not sure yet if she can travel. We each have individual insurance policies and no other connection except through the group. If she does cancel and claims reimbursemnt through her travel insurance can I still go on the cruise? I'm not sure how this would work, but I think as long as she doesnt cancel with the cruiseline our reservation is still intact as far as the cruiseline is concerned. It is after final payment date so both of us have paid in full. Does the insurance carrier contact the cruiseline before sail date? BTW I am not trying to pull one over on the cruiseline or her insurance company, I just relly want to know if her health problems may cause me to miss out on this cruise. Kamloops50 Posted August 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2017 If both of you are on the same booking or reservation number . You both will be required to cancel . You might be able to pay the single supplement and stay on board. each cruise line has different rules for this.
luv2trvlnow Posted August 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2017 Also check your policy to see if it includes covering the single supplement. We have a policy for our upcoming cruise that will cover the single supplement if the person cancels for a covered reason.
