Just home from the Breeze

It was a wonderful week. I will just hit a few highlights.

* Early dining, Blush, Deck 3. E-mailed request to Maitre d' Tuesday before departure. We could not have been more pleased with our two top. Team of Angelito, Roman and Jaya were very efficient, worked well together, and were quite personable. Entree choices somewhat limited, but we enjoyed everything we ordered. Hostess Natasha should be promoted.

* Steakhouse wonderful as usual.

* Chef's Table worth every penny. They are serving the new menu and it's glorious.

* Cabin stewards provided twice a day impeccable service without asking our preference.

* Tony at Piano Bar good musician and lots of fun.

* Casino. Slots were hungry and greedy. I didn't donate much, but it went quickly.

* Overall, the Breeze is still my favorite. Only 322 days until we're back on her.

Just a note of interest, we docked beside the behemoth RCI Allure of the Seas in Cozumel, and watched her limp out of port Friday night. I hope they made it back to home port on time.

Happy sailing!

We just got off the Breeze as well. I plan to write a review that compares our Breeze 2017 vs Breeze 2016 cruise. Hopefully in a couple days.

Oh dear me. I have no idea how to post pics. If I did I would post pics of Playa Uva in Cozumel. Our pre-planned excursion there was canceled so we found a day pass opportunity in Cozumel for a beach pass. It was a perfect day.

Dear Bury Me at Sea and Badfinger,

Love both your names!

We are going on the Breeze in December and would love to get copies of the daily papers (I will always call them the "Capers" and not FunTimes - although they are FUN TIMES!) for my friend who is in joining me. Want her as prepared as much as possible. Would either of you be willing to scan them for us? The cruising dot me has dailies, but they are from 2014, sailing out of Miami and on an 8 day trip.

Thank you and look forward to you reviews.

I didn't keep them, I always toss them daily. There were numerous activities all throughout the day and evening. If you want to stay busy you will have your choice of several types of entertainment and games and dancing. The cruise director had something going on non-stop.

I forgot to mention the vastly improved situation with the ship's photograph marketing. You can easily view and purchase your own photos either on your phone app or on multiple stations on deck 4 in the Atrium.

My granddaughter had multiple shots taken nightly and by the time we were finished with dinner we could look at all of them on her phone. So easy and friendly to the environment.

Kudos to Carnival!

Thanks for the update, Bury Me At Sea! I'm cruising on the Breeze in 27 days, thanks in great part to your feedback when you responded to my post asking for people's preference of the Breeze or the Freedom! I'm glad your cruise met your expectations- I hope ours will do the same!

Can you tell me more about playa Uva. We went about 9 years ago and I was looking to go there again next month but can't find many good reviews of it recently

I get two copies each day; one to mark up with my highlighter and the second as a souvenir for my parents after scanning for other cruisers.

We got a taxi at the edge of the shopping area, 12.00 each way. We paid $45.00 per person for a four hour pass. The fee included loungers, umbrellas, snorkeling equipment including life vests, kayaks, lunch and an open bar. There was plenty of shade.

Speedy Gonzales was our waiter and came by often to see if we wanted anything.

The beach was plenty big and quite beautiful. They had a lifeguard and a guide who instructed first timers how to snorkel, and who accompanied them in small groups.

And the food was delicious and plentiful.

The restrooms were adequate and clean.

I highly recommend it and hope to go back.

I was on the Breeze, too. had a different dinner crew, but we were in Blush on deck 3, too. really enjoyed the food and our table-mates were awesome. our table was so awesome that we took photos together one of the last nights (we all ended up getting off Monday morning in New Orleans).

our stewards were great, too. we were asked if we wanted once or twice, but had no problem when we said we wanted twice.

I only saw one RCI ship in Cozumel with us and it was the Liberty of the Seas that left Galveston with us on 8/20. where was the Allure? I took pics of it as it was my first cruise (that I thoroughly enjoyed. as much as I've enjoyed my 3 subsequent Carnival cruises, and will happily go on more, I'd also happily go back on Liberty of the Seas (I'd also love to go on one of the Oasis class ships).

We were docked beside the Allure in Cozumel. We met a family at the beach that was sailing on her. They were having a great time.

At dinner that evening we saw her limping along behind us, not following but crossing our wake, with very few and very dim lights.

Glad they got back to port safely.
