Hadn’t looked at the SD website voyages section in several weeks. Just did now. Looks like all the May voyages have been cancelled. The first ones that show now are a June 5 departure for SD1 and a June 12 one for SD2. Is that what others understand is the present state of affairs?

Happy New Year fellow Seadreamers! Once we heard the vaccine was approved, we took a gamble and booked for the week after Thanksgiving. Anyone else booked for 2021? I knew I loved traveling and specifically Seadream, but I didn't realize how much until the lockdown. Here's to a 2021 that with each month, gets us a little closer to normal. It's fun to have a count down again - 327 days to go!

Thought I'd start a new thread for those going or thinking of going. The website now reflects SD1 doing BGI-BGI and we're booked for the 12/27 and into New Year's. Spent an hour with AA getting flights changed from St. Thomas etc. And with the new "straight from airport to ship" mandate from government it's a tricky affair. Yesterday I learned BVI opening December 1st which is encouraging but the winter itineraries are staying south. Hoping no more changes as we're set. And of course looking forward!

We are so anxious to get back to the Caribbean, and knowing that SD has no 2021 plans yet, we started looking for alternatives and up popped Windstar. Currently they are scheduled to start in May 2021 to return to the Caribbean (mostly BVI's). I am wondering if any SeaDreamers have any experiences, thoughts, recommendations regarding Wind Star? We are currently booked on their May voyage on the Star Breeze (not a sailing ship). Any info would be appreciated as we are long time SeaDreamers but, needs must.

For so many years it was our dream to one day be able to get on a Christmas Sea Dream. We took care of my mother for many many years, and would never leave her alone during the Christmas season. However she passed away this year from Covid, and our hearts are broken. So this was the year we would go out and spend time with our favorite crew on our favorite yacht for Christmas.

Thanks to the hard work of all of the executives at Sea Dream to make this happen!
Alas some stupid people decided to party before they got onto the ship, and have now ruined everything for all of us, including the crew. And some of the crew are infected.

I wish that the Sea Dream team would reach out and let us know what we could do to help the crew and show or appreciation.

And I really wish there were a way that these people from CA, will be banished from Sea Dream forever more, better yet I’d love to sue them. I’m sure they were questioned by the Dr or staff as to the protocols they followed before boarding. Did the lie? I’m sure they did.

Well I’m off my soapbox now. I hope the CA people read this and realize how selfish they were, but I doubt it.

Mega Ship veteran here looking to downsize away from the throngs/hordes of people on Royal Caribbean. Very, Very new to smaller ships and looking forward to some pampering post Covid. I stumbled on SD while looking for a unique sailing and found the 02 June 2022 sailing that hits Bulgaria, Ukraine and Romania!!

I have a ton of questions but looking for any folks that have sailed the Black Sea to weigh in on this itinerary

	Hi all -

As you know, we had a freelancer on the Caribbean cruise last week that had the COVID cases. We worked with her on this follow-up article, on the lessons that the industry can take away from the experience. Some points in here on what SeaDream did really well, and what parts needed work. It's worth noting, again, that SeaDream did have a successful Norway season, as well as transatlantic. Here's hoping that the line will be able to resume the Caribbean season at some point in 2021.

I contacted SD today to try and recoup my prior down payment. We had signed up onboard last year for a January 2021 sailing with the usual 15% savings. What with Covid, etc. we later cancelled but held our down payment in abeyance. When discussing our options with SD I decided to go for the Future Travel Voucher and later booked a December 2020 cruise. Further pandemic fears caused us to cancel that one also. Now that all Caribbean cruise are cancelled for this season I called SD thinking to recoup my original downpayment and was told that since I had chosen the Future Travel Voucher previously that was what I was stuck with. Even though ALL CRUISES WERE CANCELLED BY SD I cannot get back any money and must wait another year (we only do the Caribbean) and then can use this voucher, if I am so inclined. All I wanted was my original down payment back, but I am now left with nothing until next year when perhaps of SD is still in business I can use this voucher. Usual great SeaDream customer service! (This would have been our 14th SD cruise).

For those people who have bookings later this year, particularly those who are embarking and/or disembarking from a port that is not a USA port, what is your strategy? There are so many unknowns, And final payments are looming. SD says they are planning to do all scheduled sailings. What do you think, will SeaDream do a TA? will Caribbean ports allow entry/exit? will Caribbean ports allow visitors? Quarantines? will airlines have flights, etc? We may just cancel ... and we miss SD!

	Hi,

We are looking at SeaDream for the first time, and are considering a Caribbean cruise in the new year. Does it make much difference if we book direct or through a TA? Is there any benefit either way?

If we get a complete package through a TA I think we would get ABTA/ATOL protection. However, we would probably use frequent flyer miles to get from the UK to Bridgetown and might only use a TA for the cruise plus a couple of days in a hotel before and after.

Another advantage of the frequent flyer flights is that we can easily cancel or change (for a small admin charge).

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Our TA just sent us an email indicating that she was contacted by SeaDream and notified of a cancellation of the fall westbound from Malaga scheduled to depart on October 24. They are offering a refund, or a 120% credit for trips made before the end of 2022. Did anyone else receive such a call?

If I remember correctly, this crossing was almost completely booked and some guests were concerned about a full ship on a two week crossing. So, I don't think that they would cancel it for a minor reason. The cancellation date to receive a refund less the $50 deduction was upcoming in a few weeks, and the final payments weren't due until late July. I wonder if this indicates a major change in their future plans, or if this is a mere cancellation for a charter or dry dock plans.

The website still shows that the crossing is planned, but the website is often behind in terms of correct information.

	Greetings,

I was just wondering if anyone has sailed on the SDI lately and what their opinion was of the condition. I know it was supposed to be dry docked but can’t find any info on when and what the plans are.

We’re considering both yachts for when things open up, and they are different in size and especially style.

Obviously SDI is a much older ship with a lot of wood and smaller cabins. Any comments and thoughts on the condition would be greatly appreciated.
