I am trying to decide on the 8 day Paris - Paris River Cruises offered by Tauck (Ms. Sapphire) or Viking (Viking Skaga). This will be our first visit to Paris and would like to extend on our own in Venice. They are both about the same price - Viking being just a little less. Any suggestions please??? Thanks!!!

My wife Kathy and I are on the Viking Grand European Tour Budapest to Amsterdam in May 2020. We want to arrive in Budapest one day before we embark on our Viking ship. I would appreciate any hotel recommendations for Budapest. Our hope is to be centrally located where we can walk by the major attractions, eat a good Hungarian dinner, and be relatively close to the Viking River Cruise Port. Viking recommends the Budapest Hilton. The Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace is close the Viking River Cruise Port, but I don't know how close it is to the major attractions. Thank you in advance for your help. We look forward to reading your recommendations.

Our Avalon cruise offers the Schonbrunn Palace excursion included in our tour price because of our cruise' emphasis on the Habsburgs. Is this an interesting tour or would our afternoon be better spent touring Vienna on our own since we have never been there before?

Hotel Pre and Post Cruise

Looking at hotels in Prague pre cruise and Munich Post cruise. We would like something close to sites such as old town square, astronomical clock, etc. We want to walk most of the time to sites. It should be clean and in safe area to walk back from restaurants at night.

We are looking at the following hotels in Prague and Munich any insight would be most appreciated.

In Prague:

Emblem

Augustine Luxury Collection

Ibis Praha Old Town

In Munich:

Trobrau

Platzl

Munich Palace

Also if anyone has a good hotel close to MUC airport we have a 7 am flight and might stay closer to airport last night to avoid having to get up even earlier.

We have seen where some of these say bed sheets not included. Does that mean no pillow cases and bottom sheets at all or just no top sheet?

We will be in Amsterdam later this year and I am looking at restaurants. We were at the Pancake Bakery 20! years ago and may go back there.

We loved DeBelhamel, but looking at their menu now, I am not so sure.

I've looked at TA and Yelp and have also found Von Kerkwijk, Winkel 43 and Cafe Sonneveld. Any comments on these?

Can anyone recommend hotels in Regensburg? We are doing a Christmas river cruise next year that starts in Vilshofen so we thought this would be a nice pre-cruise stay to see the Regensburg Christmas market. There aren't very many hotels and it's hard to tell whether some are charming vs. old/outdated. Any personal experience would be appreciated, thanks!

My sister and I, with our spouses, are planning a River cruise beginning in Zurich and completing in Paris in May 2021 on Viking. We are going to extend our visit in Paris so that we may take advantage of its proximity to Normandy. Is it realistic to include a day trip to Normandy? If so, are there any recommendations for us? DIY (do it yourself) or a guided tour? It is a 3-4 hour bus ride, one way. Private guide? Small group organized excursion? Would appreciate any suggestions or comments.

And, yes, we are aware this might not happen due to travel restrictions for USA. But, a girl has to dream.

Hello,

I have a cruise booked that ends in Basel. My flight home is the next day out of Zurich. My plan is to leave the ship and stay in a hotel at the Zurich airport for my 10 am flight. I am traveling alone with 2 large bags and a carry-on. What would you recommend as far as travel from Basel to Zurich (and prices)?

Or, should I plan to stay for the day in Basel to tour, then head later in the day to Zurich -- or is there more to see in Zurich? (I have never been to either city.)
