Are people who previously booked NRD cruises entitled by law to request their full deposit back (and not have to wait for RCG to cancel) as RCG has changed the terms of their contract to include exclusions that were not in place at the time of the "good faith" booking? 

Even if cruising does start up again - what are the chances that Cape Liberty will be open?

I have (... well, had 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️) two one week cruises booked - one with Royal leaving 7th May and then one with P&O leaving 15th May both from Southampton. Now obviously due to the announcement this evening, I will not be able to go on either of these, but is there any chance whatsoever that the ship might still sail (with passengers who have flown to the UK and then cruise out of it)?  I suppose what I’m asking is, is there a possibility that I might be refused a refund of my deposit because the ship is still sailing? Or do you think ships will be prevented from sailing out of British ports - until after 17th May? Any help would be appreciated - thanks 😀

However....I got it for (what I think is) an absolute bargain of £450pp including $150obc.

I keep an eye on the prices incase they drop but they're now sitting at £1400-1500pp....wow that is some rise!

Is this because they want to put people off booking so they don't have tons of refunds to do? Or have they realised that this will go ahead and so have returned to normal prices for holiday time?

What to Listen For:

• Restart: When will ships actually start sailing in mass in the United States and Europe? Company executives will be pressed to answer or provide a realistic timeline. Previous remarks about restarting in 2020 did not pan out. 
• CDC: Will company executives provide an update regarding ongoing discussions with the CDC and its Conditional Sailing Order. Since being issued in late October there have been no further public updates nor promised technical regulations. 
• Biden Administration: After the industry had high-profile meetings with Vice President Mike Pence in 2020, as well as a teleconference in October, what has been the relationship with the new U.S. administration so far with President Joe Biden in office?
• Azamara: Company executives will need to comment on the sale of Azamara to a private equity company. Will other sales of ships or brands follow?
• Alaska: How will the Canada cruise ship ban impact the Alaska season and is the idea of a waiver to operate without calling on a foreign port realistic?
• Occupancy: When the ships do restart, what occupancy will they sail at, and what occupancy do they need to sail at to generate positive earnings?
• Deployment: Could 2021 and possibly 2022 lead to a seismic shift in deployment as cruise lines stay even closer to home and embrace short cruises?
• Cash Burn: Royal Caribbean Group opted not to provide an exact cash burn figure in its last earnings release, but offered a range which averaged out to $270 million a month. Investors will be looking for an update.
• Startup Costs: Among Wall Streets key concerns will be the startup costs per vessel as well as the timeline to get a vessel ready to cruise with guests.
• Lay Up: Will the company elaborate on further cold lay up scenarios for the vessels that may return to service last? 

He also said that CDC is committed to getting them back to sailing as quickly and safely as possible.

I dont know if its called like that _ end of season region- but I was wondering if its a good or bad idea to sail in the last day of a ship that is ending in a region for example  Caribbean and now its going to for example Alaska. Is that week the end of contract for most employee? are they tired? are they going to be motivated?

I cannot for the life of me see why cruising should not begin by August 2021. That should give the cruise lines enough time to get their crews on board, have them vaccinated and do a couple of test cruises and determine open destinations.. If they are held back, it is a political move...not science speaking. As a stockholder in Royal, I would expect Royal to protest to the the highest level....the news media about their situation. 

As for us, no masks after April. We want to get back to normal living....not being treated like animals in a zoo.

$ 100 more per cabin for 2022). She told me it would take about 24 hours to receive my new cruise vacation receipt because of the FCC.

The following morning I received the receipt via email and it was appx. $ 600 more per cabin.  I called RC and the rep could not explain the increase- she said they were applying the FCC differently to the fare, therefore, I could not line item the amounts to understand how they were getting the increase- when I asked her to add up the numbers on her end- we "got disconnected".  I called back and the next rep put me on hold for awhile but came back and said they had accidentally double charged my port taxes and fees... and she corrected it.  It still did not explain the $ 600 increase but it got fixed.

Bottom line- I'm gathering 2022 receipts from lift and shifts may be tricky to reconcile with 2021reciepts, so watch your total balance due closely.   

So, instead of a port day in Zeebruge (on board of the brand new Celebrity Apex), I've cleaned the fridge....😁

Since we're "at risk", we didn't leave our appartment for groceries shopping -- young and gracious neighbors on the same floor are shopping for us once a week.

Kids/grandkids (in different cities) -- "Zooming" with them once a day.

Hopes that the lockdown will ease after Passover/Easter.

Would a $1400 bump in cost be worth it to move to a Grand suite on a Voyager Class ship on a 4-5-6 night cruise?

I know this will be totally subjective, but for those that have sailed both Junior Suites and above, would that extra cost be worth it ? 

If not, what is your break point to jump up to the next suite level?
