So we both got vaccinated and decided we'd like to roll the dice on one of the mid May journeys. Anyone else who's booked for May 14-19?

I wonder with the cruise industry seemingly not getting back to "normal" for an undetermined amount of time after sailings begin will VV need to rethink their adults only policy? I know this goes against everything that they've marketed to this point, but in order to get cabins filled they may need to pivot.

I've been following the VV Scarlet Lady with excitement and see the booking is live. We might try to book something in 2020 as the fares don't seem to bad. What I'm excited about is that this seems like a new experience. We've done 10- Celebrity and an Azamara and really enjoy them, but variety is the spice of life. They seem to be billing this as all-inclusive, but I haven't been able to find exactly what is included. I believe gratuities, wifi, any/all dining and fitness classes are included, but what about drinks (cocktails, beer, fresh juices, soda, etc), entertainment, excursions, etc? If everything is truly included then $4000 (inc taxes) for a 5 night to Havana in a balcony cabin doesn't seem bad at all, we paid close to that for a 4-night Havana on Azamara last year and that wasn't all-inclusive.

You wanna break the mold...get rid of the "use it or lose it" on Sailor Loot/On Board Credit. (Unfortunately, I would add the bar tab scheme to this list as well....you've implemented a similar measure there...two accounts to track now, instead of one)

Love your approach....mostly all-inclusive....free wifi, gratuities included, basic beverages.

I think one thing all cruises hate is the "use it or lose it" aspect of their on board cash account. Just let the money roll into Future Voyage Credits...or just (more costly) refund the amount in cash.

Perhaps you've already done the calculus on this, but I think this is a "pain point" for cruisers where I think Virgin could be a pioneer.

Either way, love what you guys are doing. Hope to see you on the ship soon.

I just found an email in my span folder that explains the cancellation. I am a little surprised because my sailing was 10 months away and thought this would be under control by then. It goes on to explain that for first time cancellations, you get the 150% FVC or a full refund +25% FVC. If this is not the first cancellation for you, then you get FVC that can be used up to a year from your booking start date.

VV posted this lovely pic of SCARLET LADY at Bimini a couple days ago (obviously taken earlier in the year). What struck me is that SCARLET LADY has backed her stern pier side like a ferry would. In fact I believe this is how BIMINI SUPERFAST disembarked passengers when she was on the Miami-Bimini run. That ship was a ferry, and of course SCARLET LADY is not ... but is it possible SL has a stern door?

I finally caved this morning. I've rolled several bookings forward already and had ended up in Nov 2020, which I still don't believe is going to happen. I've been (mostly) on hold with them for about 40 minutes now. To be fair, my booking history with them is complicated (suite with two people > canceled for two back to backs in solo (March 2020, canceled by pandemic), > canceled for suite with two people in October > canceled for suite with two people in November > I finally gave up/not sure they won't go bankrupt).

Ok ... off phone now, it was about 50 minutes total. It does sound like they were able to clean everything up and issue me a 25% FCC. If you have a similarly complicated history, they can handle, but just be ready to settle in on hold for a while (and it's still that same song ...).

They state 7-10 business days for the refund, I will post here when it shows up (or doesn't).

Everyone deserves a break right now, even RockStars like you. So in light of that, we've taken a look at our introductory pricing across the board and updated it to reflect the current economic environment as part of our Smooth Sailing program for 2020.

What that means is that we're lowering the fare for your suite, and with that, we've made the decision to remove some of the previously offered perks. If you'd like more details, take a look here for everything that's included with your RockStar status.

With our pricing update, we're also introducing (even more) flexible booking policies — so that you can feel confident about making plans, while knowing that if anything changes, we're on your side. So for sailings through December 16th, 2020, we’re moving final payment dates to 60 days (from 120 days) before you sail, and allowing you to cancel up to 48 hours before your voyage and receive a 100% voyage credit.

You'll receive an updated confirmation email from us in the next 7 days that reflects your new fare. Until then, stay safe and we look forward to sailing out on the open ocean with you soon.
