  1. Hi, we are getting ready to sail on Ovation in a few weeks, and my husband might decide to get the refreshment package, but only if it includes milkshakes. The package specifically mentions milkshakes at Johnny Rockets, and I realize there is no Johnny Rockets on board. Elsewhere on the internet someone mentioned the patisserie or the MDR as having milkshakes but I am not convinced that this is correct or that either would be included in the refreshment package. On the other hand, if we get onboard and in fact there are milkshakes, we will be annoyed at missing out on the pre-cruise pricing and will either skip it entirely (and angrily) or will pay extra on board. Can anyone confirm either way?
  2. Yeah maybe really nasty traffic.
  3. I get that; skipping the whole Chesapeake. Just curious. I want to say people were being told the embark window was only noon-3:30 or something but that seemed unrealistic for this first departure dealing with the unexpected change.
  4. Still in port at of 7:15 pm. Anyone onboard?
  5. 7pm local time and has not departed. Assuming lots of extra time for the buses and other changed travel plans for passengers. Anyone aboard who can tell how it’s going?
  6. Sooooo where are you? Emotionally I mean? Going through the stages of grief for your Baltimore departure, which is dead. Adjusting to a new option which is alive and in front of you. Is the glass half empty or full, and is it filling up for the better with the promise of a cruise still happening for you? For me, once I am in launch mode, roughly 2 weeks prior, the thought of missing a vacation is far worse than the thought of unplanned adjustments.
  7. No doubt correct but all our foolishness in speculating is much more fun. Like the Priceline model of cruises. Put in a bid for a nonspecific mid-Atlantic debark location and take what you get. I know, don’t give them ideas!
  8. Are they allowing cancellation with full refunds? I am not on this cruise so I am just a cheerleader on the sidelines. Others have mentioned Amtrak as an option to avoid flying or driving. I would just hope folks who have been looking forward to a cruise get to still make it happen but obviously an individual decision.
  9. Yeah perhaps not stuffing them completely; Legend max is just under 2700 and Vision just over 2500. With spring break and recent demand likely both are at those numbers.
  10. Over on the Carnival board someone said they had lined up 70 buses for the mass transfer to Baltimore this week. They are assuming nearly everyone will take the free ride. I believe the capacity is similar on both ships.
  11. Come on, ya gotta cruise while ya can!! Eat cruise and be merry! Life’s short!
