  1. 1) Money 2) Do you really think that they think that far ahead? It is the government.
  2. We posted at the same time. Later it does say (Clause 8c) that they are liable to get you home or the port of embarkation.
  3. So they can just tell you your cruise leaves from another port and it is your problem???? Actually it seems they only have to get you back to your port of embarkation or your home (at their discretion). So according to the contract, a person on the ship right now that lives in Norfolk, they could put them in a taxi to their home and leave it up to them to deal with getting their car parking in Baltimore. It could be interesting to get that into court. But yes, technically they could tell you that your cruise now leaves from LA and if you cancel, you get no refund.
  4. Remember, all the debris have to be cut or demo'd UNDER WATER. So commercial divers, dive ships, floating cranes. I will be surprised if they really start within several weeks to a month.
  5. No, you have a cruise contract to depart and arrive at a given port. The contract does allow them to change the itinerary for the ports you stop at.
  6. No but the conditions have significantly changed. So people should have the option to cancel without penalty for cash or for cruise credit with a bonus.
  7. They may not be responsible for the situation, but they are responsible for giving you the cruise you booked. How would it be if you booked a cruise out of Miami and they said, oh, your cruise is now leaving from LA, it is your problem? IMO, they should offer transport to/from Baltimore and Norfolk. Or either let you cancel for a full refund or for say 150% of your fare as a credit to a future cruise.
  8. Yeap. Next Vision cruise I have booked is December. I am pretty sure that the port will be open by then.
  9. Doing some looking, I think may fly down even Saturday and enjoy the Water Side area. FYI you can also fly BWI - ORF on American for a similar price, but change planes in Charlotte
  10. I have done the drive, but many years ago. I am sure it is worse now.
  11. Have a heart. I am already cruising on Carnival and you want me to fly SouthWest ALSO???? The horror........ 😄
  12. I will have to look into the train to get there. Looks like would have to travel the day before, so an extra hotel night. Thanks for the idea
  13. We would take it. Live 30 minutes from Baltimore port. Easy, get up, have breakfast, finish packing, easy quick drive to port. Add 4 hour drive to that and it makes it a LOT different. And, we are booked on the April 15 TA, so will have to change flights to Norfolk, getting in late in the evening, so another hotel before the 4+ hour drive home
  14. I suspect that someday, not too far away, there will be some changed to the loyalty program. Crazy that every level is lifetime. Crazy that I can start living with someone and be D+ on my first cruise and be D+ for the rest of my life. Crazy that someone can make P in low cost interiors spending a fraction of what a D paid for in suite fares. Interesting, taking my first Carnival cruise (due to friend and a KILLER deal). It seems they are about to announce changes to their loyalty program. It may require that you sail every so often to maintain status. Funny, other changes will make it similar to RCI program (like drink vouchers). But it seems their levels are easier to meet so at times have had over half the ship be the top two levels. Their Diamond (highest) is only 200 nights. Platinum (second highest) starts at 75.
