Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. This is such a first-world problem that it’s too embarrassing to even complain about, so I will just post the issue and ask a question about it. My son is currently 17 and will turn 18 a couple weeks before our cruise on the Joy. Since two of my kids are in that boring, too old for teens club but too young for bars category, I thought I’d get them passes to the Thermal Spa so they can have something fun and different to do together. The NCL system won’t let me get my 17 year old a pass until he turns 18, and NCL said I’ll need to wait until his birthday to purchase it. So, here’s my question…How early do the thermal spa passes typically sell out? Should I assume that I won’t be able to purchase them passes and move on to a Plan B, and does anyone have any recommendations for a fun Plan B for an 18 & 19 y.o. on the Joy.
  2. Thanks all! Emailing them now. Hopefully they’ll respond tomorrow.
  3. I'm not sure if the concierge is for the Joy or just goes across the whole line, but was hoping maybe they'd have an email address. Every time I remember that I want to call, it is after hours. Would love to just shoot them an email and forget about it. Thanks!
  4. Having been in the Haven on several different ships, maybe I've just gotten lucky, but I only remember one time that we had to wait a few minutes for a seat at the restaurant and there's always been a place at the Haven bar. The Haven, at least in my experience, has never felt overcrowded.
  5. I’m so confused. I went onto insuremytrip.com and entered the ages for the 6 people in my family. Thought they wanted the ages of everyone when we are traveling, so entered 52, 54, 18, 13, 19, 21. When I finished getting quotes and chose a plan, it asked me to enter birthdates. Once I did it told me that there was a change in price due to the fact that three ages were different because right now the ages are 51, 53, 17, 13, 19, 21. The price went from $178 to $505, WTH! I checked on a different computer using our current ages and got the same $505+ prices. This makes absolutely no sense to me. Why would being 52, 54 & 18 be $300+ less than being 51, 53, 17? (Especially when we’ll actually be 52, 54, 18 when we actually travel)?
  6. When I try to find the onboard entertainment for my upcoming Allure of the Seas sailing, I just get a message saying I can make reservations now if I’m allowed, or otherwise to make them onboard. I am just trying to find out what shows there are. Can someone please tell me I there’s a way to see this info? Now I’m curious, will I be able to make reservations before boarding on Mar 11?
  7. Returning a rental car to Orlando Airport just before heading to terminal for Allure cruise. Going directly from the ship back to the airport after the cruise. What’s the best way to arrange transportation? Thanks!
  8. Cruising to Bermuda in August, but will have plenty of time to renew when I return from this trip in March. Thanks for the info!
  9. Just booked a cruise for March, and realized my passport expires in June 2024. I know a lot of countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months after your vacay ends, mine will expire three months later. If I submit the paperwork to renew my passport now (and expedite it), I assume I’ll have it back before the beginning of March, but just want to confirm that, if for some reason there is a glitch and I don’t have it back in time, I can use my birth certificate and driver’s license to go on the cruise. Thanks!
  10. You very well may be right. I was just going by the info KJQuilts posted
  11. RCCL definitely allows kids in adjoining cabins or cabins directly across from an adult. I was told by the cruise line that for "across the hall" purposes, you had to be able to see into one room from the other if the doors were open. It looks like NCL's policy is that it's only allowed for connecting rooms, but doesn't hurt to call.
  12. Been a minute since my family last went on a cruise. The kids are now all teenagers and young adults. Saw that they are getting rid of the laser tag and virtual arcade on the Joy. I know the go-carts and water slides will still be onboard, but what other activities, not sports related, are there during the day for teens and a 21 year old? Do they have other arcades that my 13 year old might enjoy? What about a rope course (I think that's what it's called)? Also, for me, does the Joy have a decent jogging track?
  13. How old do kids need to be to sleep in their own cabin?
