  1. Thank you so much! Very helpful! I am leaving on the 6th and will be there on the on the 10th. I usually just walk around town but I am thinking its time to wander off the beaten path.
  2. Happy Wednesday Fellow Cruisers! I am going to Freeport/Nassau on the 6th. I have been there before but I want to mix things up. Does anyone have any information on bus schedules for either destination? I have not has any luck with a google search. We want to take public transportation to...anywhere. There are 7 of us and have 8 hours in each port (provided we are able to get off the ship quickly). Is public transportation safe and reliable? Best places to visit? Where do you get on the bus from at terminal? Has anyone taken the bus before? Where did you go? Was it fun, exciting, informative, awe inspiring? Any information will be greatly appreciated.
  3. I also received an email reply yesterday stating the same thing. 🙂 Thanks.
  4. Thank you all for the replies. I figured it would be business as usual. I just got a little nervous and wanted to be sure.
  5. Hello fellow cruisers! I found out the other day that Manhattan cruise terminal now offers reserved parking. We drive in from Eastern Long Island. I tried to reserve a spot but they are all booked. I cruised last summer from there and as usual just drove in, paid and parked. So now I am freaking out. I am cruising with 2 disabled adults, 2 other adults and 2 children ages 6 and 9. Can you still just pull in, pay and park or are all spots reservation only? I know there are plenty of parking garages close by but 2 of my party can not walk that far and there are 7 of us each with a luggage bag. Do they run out of parking spots ever? I have never had this issue and I have cruised out of there 4 times. Thank you in advance for any information.
  6. I am wondering if the wildfires are having any effect on the ports in St Johns and Halifax. Does anyone have any insight? Whether I go or not I am sending prayers out to our Canadian neighbors.
  7. I'm a New Yorker so 75 is a relief in August lol
  8. Thanks for the info! I usually bring a sweater/hoodie or jacket just in case sea days are cool at night anyway. Once you hit the Carolinas on your way back to New York in the winter months.....brrrrr!
  9. We're doing the 5 day to St Johns and Halifax. I'm really excited! 3 more booked within the next year. This one is my only Canada one. I've never been on the Canada one before and it was highly recommended.
  10. I'm going to St Johns and Halifax. Thanks for letting me know. Still a little cool for New Yorkers in the summer. We're used the 90sF. I can not wait to go though. The cities sound amazing!
  11. Good morning fellow cruisers! My up coming cruise in August will be the first time I am heading north. I will be going to Canada on the Venezia. I was wondering if any one can give me a heads up about the typical weather that time of year. It sounds cold according to the websites I've visited! Can you swim comfortably or even at all? Would I need a coat at night? Shorts/jeans/T-shirts? Sweatshirt/Jacket during the day. I am a New Yorker so I am accustomed to all kinds of weather. I just want to be prepared. Usually I'm just packing sun dresses, t-shirts, shorts and a bathing suit. Thanks in advance 🙂
  12. I was just reading about the boardwalk. That will be perfect and now I can't wait to try a Donair! Thank you so much!
  13. Hello fellow cruisers! I was wondering if anyone had any advice or suggestions for the best walk from the cruise port to anything worth seeing in St John's, NB and Halifax, NS. My daughter is autistic and my husband is disabled so going on an excursion is generally more work and worry than it is fun. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
