Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I feel really sorry for you! Don’t expect any sympathy to a complaint upon your return they are not interested
  2. In actual fact I would have come on here even if Marella had refunded some money as I was shocked at just how poor this cruise was having had an excellent time last year. I would have included thought that my complaint had been dealt with well and even handedly. When you say a brass fare I don’t consider it was, it was 2xs the price of 2 P&O cruises I have just been on which were really good 100% better than this one and that is taking into account the drinks bill at the end etc. I agree I didn’t and shouldn’t expect gold service but this was far worse than that it was dreadful. I felt sorry for all the first time cruisers on it
  3. We returned from a week on Explorer 27.10.23. Thought we would wait until we had a response to an official complaint from TUI before leaving a bad review but as they have now sent an email basically saying sorry you had a bad time goodbye we will do so. We were on the ill fated flight from Leeds Bradford on 20.10.23 that didn’t get us off to a good start but after that it was all downhill. Cabin issues blocked toilet, very tatty no place to store suitcases, constant knocking from cabin steward at night from around 6 pm despite several times asking for him not to. restaurant issues - 1st night (2nd for everyone else) dining club excellent. Next 2 nights main restaurant - given bleeper 1.5 hours wait, food so poor we couldn’t consider going in there again. We had breakfast in there 1 morning the service and food really poor. Experience in the tapas in the evening not great buffet like school dinners in the evening Entertainment during the day non existent, night very very poor Harlequin was at the airport going home which was the 1st time we saw him Kotor was missed altogether which appreciate not their fault but did the captain really need to wait till 9am before announcing it when everyone had already had refunds for their trips the night before? Then to make 3 more announcements to say still deciding what to do …really you are still thinking about it 🧐 we had booked a private tour of an island in Dubrovnik having been there several times before but the news letter said departure 3.30 so we had to cancel then the captain announced at 9.40am he was delaying departure until 5.30 thanks for that other matters, reception staff bordering on ignorant. 1 pool towel each for an entire week. Never any glasses in glasshouse serving drinks in plastic beakers. for a company that doesn’t even offer a loyalty programme it’s totally unsatisfactory we won’t be booking anymore with TUI there are plenty of other lines offering a much better product for the same cost of a much higher standard
  4. Thank you we are on Ventura 19.9.23
  5. We are platinum on celebrity and have cruises booked with them for next year and 2 on P&O for this year. Tbh the food on Marella is no where near as good as celebrity but that is the only down side the entertainment, venues and fellow guests are far superior (imho) we have a lot more “fun” on Marella. We are trying P&O again after 2 previous disasters purely because of vfm and will report back on those
  6. Yes the drinks package is £45 pp per day on P&O and everyone in the cabin has to take it. I’ve booked 2 P&O now the first is with o/h in sept we will take the drinks package for that but the 2nd is for my mums 80th she doesn’t drink so pay as u go for that 1. That is an absolute bargain in a balcony would much prefer Marella but the price is more than double. Our last cruise on Marella was fabulous and I’m sure the 1 booked for oct on explorer will be 🤞
  7. We haven’t been on an NCL cruise yet where we have made it to the ports booked! Feel your pain!
  8. If you are looking at the 20.10.23 flight from Leeds Bradford we have booked that despite my o/h wanting to book the Manchester flight. I think it’s barbaric having to be at the airport for 4am for the Mcr flight but he thinks the 3pm flight from LB is too late and we lose a day but I’ve won that battle anyway to answer your question we did the same last year and Dinglebert is quite right the buffet was our only option and it was pretty bad glad we weren’t that hungry as we had a good fish n chip lunch on our way to the airport 😂
  9. Thank you that was the package i meant shame its no longer available. The restaurants are on the dashboard apart from dining club which is what I particularly want to book and our flight is the last in so im worried about leaving it till booking onboard but hey ho!
  10. Can anyone help if the know if dining packages are still available? When we first sailed on Marella there was a package but can’t remember the details. Also, can you book the dining club before boarding it doesn’t appear on the cruise dashboard? thank you for any help
  11. We have booked a canaries cruise on P&O which was a bargain in a balcony cabin but when you factor in the drinks package has increased to £45 per day we think we could have got the same price on Marella. We have booked on explorer for October and have to fly from Leeds Bradford because of the flight times. I don’t know why the Manchester flights are always 6am? It’s far too early for me to have to get up before 3am to catch a flight. O/h isn’t happy as the Leeds/Bradford flight doesn’t got till 3pm so he views it as missing a day on the ship. It also saves a day on the kennel fees though!
  12. Do you mean Marella or P&O are cheaper Cliffholl55 I will have a look at both and compare
  13. We went on discovery 2 last year (inside cabin last minute for £630) followed by a far more expensive cruise in a suite on NCL epic. The Marella cruise won hands down. In terms of food it was the best we’ve had, the service, entertainment excellent and the people we met so so friendly. Contrast that with the food etc on Epic that’s was deplorable even in the speciality restaurants I mean virtually inedible . I keep looking at Marella again for this year but the prices have gone so high I’m finding it so much cheaper with P&O especially now they have introduced a drinks package, shame as we enjoyed ourselves so much last year
