  1. Thank you! I was actually following your live from while on our cruise until I got too sick to even want to read. I think I got up to the point where the weather was pretty awful. I'm so sorry you got sick too and pneumonia to bat. That alley probably never seemed so long. I am still coughing as I type, so maybe the antibiotics warded off pneumonia, but it hasn't shortened the duration of this thing. 🙏Thank you for my review award and badge - it definitely put a smile on my face 🙂 (It doesn't take much to make me happy!)
  2. That is absolutely awful that you are all still coughing since the end of November. Did you have RSV? Our doctor asked a lot of questions about our cough before he prescribed the antibiotics. I think he may have been nervous that our symptoms indicated pneumonia. I was actually hoping for some cough syrup with codeine so that we could sleep. Do they even prescribe that anymore? We took NyQuil one night on the cruise and it actually made us feel worse. Here's to hoping for a healthier 2024 for all of us!
  3. I told you before you sailed that our sailing history was very similar - but I didn't mean for it to be this way! Hopefully our next experience will be better for both of us. I think I read you are going on one of the older ships next. I'll be interested to read your take on it. I have so many happy memories on the Ruby, Crown and Coral but I've been hesitant to go back to one.
  4. I was wondering the same. We had to advise folks in our townhouse association to stop using even the flushable wipes because they don't dissolve and clogged the drainage pipes, In NY we are on septic and have to be very careful to only use septic safe paper. On the ship there is even a sign in the bathrooms to not flush anything but the toilet paper down the toilets,
  5. 100% agree. We truly love our sushi and enjoy sampling different kinds of sake. Ocean Terrace's offerings were so much more exciting when they first debuted. Do you remember the oyster shooters and the Chile and lime crab margarita? They had that amazing Seafood Sampler for $20 for 2. The first time we experienced it was on the Regal and the menu and selection was huge.
  6. And no-one was washing their hands anymore when entering the buffet! The previous two cruises they had the "washy washy" sentries standing guard at the entrances. Not a one in sight this time around.
  7. From my experience just now on the Enchanted, I think suite guests are invited to fill available empty spots. Some people at our dinner had no idea what it was or why they were invited. I don't think you have to worry about it filling up for your entire cruise, most people we spoke to onboard had never heard of it.
  8. Thank you for your excellent review. We experienced many of the same issues on the Enchanted on the December 8th sailing. Clearly, the issues are fleet wide. We met many new cruisers to Princess who expressed the same sentiments as you. Most said they would never sail Princess again.
  9. I read your excellent review and was on the next sailing on the Enchanted. Our experience was very similar to yours and I also wrote a review. We aren't giving up on Princess yet, but we aren't quite the cheerleaders we once were.
  10. Thank you! We are still feeling residuals of a cough, but thankfully we were able to celebrate the holidays with our children and grandchildren. We have never been sick on a cruise before even when we sailed in the height of Covid. It really makes us rethink taking longer cruises which have been on our bucket list for years. Although I believe norovirus is a nightmare, I think it is short lived. These respiratory illnesses linger for weeks. I agree that it would take a miracle to avoid all the illnesses going around now. Back in the days of Covid, no-one would cough openly like that guy did in the Piazza, they would be too scared of being quarantined.
  11. Good to know! Even though the sake was gone, it was interesting to have so many supplies left over from Europe. The water was Frasassi and apparently the coke products and ginger ale tasted different than the US versions. The first thing I noticed, now don't laugh, was the toilet paper! It was so stiff and felt like cheap paper towels ~ ouch. Thank goodness it was replaced eventually with a softer version. Did you have that awful paper throughout your entire trip? I grew up in London and have family in Europe. I am aware of the challenges when it comes to toilet paper, but I wasn't expecting it on Princess!
  12. This was our third time on the Sun Deck and the first time we had any issues. We were impacted by the storms that also hit the south east and had torrential rains on the last day. We have often been in forward cabins but after this experience I think we may just shoot for mid ship in the future. Thanks for your kind words. Merry Christmas to you too!
  13. We had no problem booking the specialty restaurants once on board on our recent Enchantment cruise sailing at full capacity. Yes, the prime times were sold out, but early and late seatings were available. We chose to eat at an earlier time (5:30) because by the time we actually got our mains, it was closer to 6:30. There were still some 7:30 and later times available. Our trick was to visit the restaurants when they were open. By doing this, we snagged a same day reservation at the Catch and a next day reservation at Sabatini's. The Catch only had one day that was truly sold out. The host at Sabatini's told us that even though they appear sold out on the app, they actually keep several tables open. We also never eat at the Crown Grill, so I cannot speak as to whether they had any availability. Keep in mind that although there were many B2B passengers on this cruise, there may not have been as many as usual since it was the first sailing after the transatlantic.
  14. A few disappointments ~ Crispy? Calamari at Sabatini's. They were soggy and tasteless but I did eat most of them! I had the Ossobuco for my main, Steve had the veal marsala. Both were fine since it was OBC, but I don't think this dinner was worth the $70. The sampler dessert was great though. Ocean Terrace sushi was fresh and very tasty, but they had run out of sake. I was surprised they only had one kind.
  15. IMG_1443.mov I apologize for the weird angle of this video! Yum - I forget what was in this, but it was delicious
