Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. For sure, for siblings this is a nice option to have. Hopefully they consider 12 a flex age!
  2. Do you anticipate them enforcing the 13 limit on the Icon? I guess we will find out soon now that full-revenue cruising is about to begin. I wish they were clearer about this, and I hope it’s not a negotiation once on board.
  3. Thank you for finding this guidance! It makes sense. I was just thrown off by the Adventure Ocean having a space that clearly has 6-12 posted on the door. It was shown on a recent video walkthrough of Adventure Ocean on the Icon.
  4. True, that would be again too big a spread for different reasons. What she is looking for is the 12-14 crowd she is used to hanging out with, but clearly most of them will not be able to come to Adventure Ocean…Hopefully they do something tween friendly during spring break months in Adventure Ocean!
  5. Going on the Icon for spring break with a 12-year-old. I have not been able to firm up what her options will be in terms of kids clubs. She would like to meet other girls her age to hang out with. Will she only have access to the 6-12 area in Adventure Ocean? That’s a big age spread! There could be kindergarteners along with seventh graders. Is the teen club open to this age group, or is it strictly 13+? I have heard both that the age limits 12/13 are strictly enforced by each club and that a 12-year-old is given the choice to “age up.” What has been the practice during recent cruises across the fleet? What should we expect on the Icon during the busy spring break weeks when there surely will be many tweens?
  6. Regarding the "Suite Lounge," does anyone know if they will be offering a happy hour there with complimentary drinks and snacks? One of our favorite memories from the Allure is visiting the suite lounge during happy hour and enjoying the complimentary drinks, often during the sail away. Is this a thing of the past?
  7. I just noticed in my cruise planner that the All Access Ship Tour had become available for my sailing on the Icon in March 2024! It says the duration is 3.5 hours. Is that consistent with the tour on other ships? The detailed description says, "Two-hour All Access tour: See what we do behind the scenes to make each part of your cruise experience enjoyable." I went ahead and booked it anyway.
  8. Thank you for the clarifications! We plan to manage with just 1 device online per person at a time, so no need to spent extra $ then. Whew!
  9. Sailing on the Icon in a Surfside Family Suite, which as a Sky class suite includes an internet access benefit ("Royal Suite Class Star and Sky guests will enjoy the Surf + Stream package"), one device per person booked. However, in the cruise planner I am offered VOOM SURF + STREAM Internet Package at $23.99 / per guest per day. What would be the benefit of also getting the paid service - is it good for additional devices? Altogether, we will probably bring 2 computers, 2 iPads, and 4 phones - a total of 8 devices (one person has to keep up with work emails on the cruise). My understanding is that with 1 complimentary access each it is possible to use more than one device but only one at a time. So is there any need to sign up for the paid internet service they keep pushing to me in the planner???
  10. AJ’s Monkey’s and Sloths appears to also have a huge guinea pig habitat where guinea pigs can be held and petted. Do any other of the other sloth sanctuaries also have them, and specifically the Mayan Eden Eco Park, which appears to be where you go on RCCL excursions?
  11. Does anyone else think RCCL should revise Icon itineraries to not call at Mexican ports so frequently, given the recent security issues? I don’t think the State Dept “do not travel” warnings apply to the specific port regions where Icon guests will visit, but surely there is a risk of e.g. travel insurance policies dropping the country until things get better? I want to book, but so far all the dates that work for my family have the Western Caribbean itinerary, which gives me pause. I know we could just enjoy the ship and not get off….
  12. Thank you! In that case I’m sure it will appear in a future deck plan.
  13. Having just browsed the deck plans, I did not see a concierge lounge for suite guests similar to what they have e.g. on the Allure of the Seas. Is this not part of the Icon? Where do you find the concierge? Is happy hour with free drinks gone? We really enjoyed this in the past, but perhaps with the suites only restaurants they see no need for a lounge. 🤔
  14. Well, after 33 months of delays the Evrima finally set sail today from Barcelona. Hopefully someone on board will eventually post a review here.
