Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Oct 10th on a 9 day Alaska cruise on the Jewel. Spa pass is 229 dollars. Good or bad price. Just asking.
  2. HI, a fold up wheelchair would be much easier. You can rent one and have it in your stateroom when you get there. My son is in a specialty designed manual wheelchair. We rented a regular fold up wheelchair and it was waiting in the stateroom. He used his regular wheelchair around the ship. We used the fold up on excursions. The bus drivers would fold it up and place it in the luggage area.
  3. Great review. Thank you very much. Did you ever cross the antarctic circle ? Once again thank you.
  4. Does this trip go thru the Kamon Strait between the Japanese Islands? Very interesting passage. Have fun.
  5. Look on https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/index.php surf thru looking at rooms. We have 14118 booked for Nov 2025. It has pics and more info.
  6. I myself was wandering if you can arrive 2 days earlier. Our cruise is in Nov 2025 way out there. Right now there is no deviations maybe because it is in 2025?
  7. Looking at NCL for the Pride schedule, there are no dates between Jun 24 2023 to Jan 6 2024. Strange. Been on the Pride 3 times in the past.
  8. Leave the door open (of course they don't like you to do that), slide the little stool up to the opening. There is usually a stool in the balcony staterooms.
  9. What happens if you book a regular balcony on NCL for 3 people and one of the 3 is handicapped and in a wheelchair. Then you show up to check in and then request a accessible room. Will they switch your room?
  10. Probably had to due with the Gulf stream and the strong south to north current outside of the breakwater. You have to drive the ship "sideways" in the current to maintain a straight course. Might of been to high of a current for them to attempt. I have been in to Port Canaveral 2 or 3 times on a submarine as the Asst. Navigator, always interesting. Sounds like you are having a a great cruise. Thank you for your reviews.
  11. Pride of America has a little vending machine mounted on the wall. Motrin was the only thing available in small package of 2. A dollar if I remember right. An old machine. Next port went to ABC store.
  12. We were on the 20 Aug sailing of Pride of America. Asked for a Pepsi to drink expecting to pay. It was free they were getting rid of it I guess. Lol. Picture of Cabin 8708 Aft Balcony.
  13. We had a Handicap 3 person balcony on the NCL Star. The third bed was the one from the ceiling, my wife and myself were laughing out loud. My son who is in a wheelchair, he can get around pretty good but not into that. They just folded it back into ceiling and a few minutes later a nice roll away appeared. Great cruise. (Mexican Rivera)
  14. Hi Cheng, does the crew have to pay for meals? Like all your comments. I am a retired Assistant Navigator. QMC/SS.
  15. Do they still offer "Bucket's of beer" on board? If so what is the price, and amount?
