  1. Yep...........I posted the information. It's important for people to know this.
  2. d9704011...........you are correct. I don't like the news. 😖 Thanks for the info. I wish Princess would note that on our itinerary.
  3. We are scheduled to be in Halifax on Aug 6, 2024, Emerald Princess. The port schedule shows us in P24 TND1 for the berth. Where is that located? We can see berth 20, 22, 23 but cannot find P24 TND1 on any map. Help!
  4. I just got ANOTHER phone call regarding the Princess Future Cruise Package. I was not happy and told the caller that I have said multiple times that I do not want this package and I do not want to be called about it again. I instructed the caller that I wanted to be on "do not call" for this. She was very nice and said that if she puts me on the "do not call" that it will include ALL specials and promotions. She did understand why I was angry and said in the future just ask quickly if this is for the Future Cruise Package. The phone call will end when I say I'm not interested. I just wish it wasn't all or nothing.
  5. LACruiser88..........tell your friends that we just tested positive also. There was so much coughing and sneezing on the ship. Covid is here to stay. We will continue to cruise.
  6. Ports were St Kitts, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Barbados, Grenada, Trinidad, Aruba and Bonaire. The Good: We parked at “park by the port”. This was suggested by a cruise critic member and I’m so glad we took their advice. We always parked at the port but this time we were leaving from terminal 21 but would be back in terminal 2. We will never park at the port again. It was cheaper to park outside and less stress for us. Embarkment was very easy. Long lines but moved right along. Our room was ready when we boarded, which was around noon. We had room E731. Room was very comfortable and our steward was attentive. The only negative was the couch. It needs to be replaced. It was very hard and sat very low. Our bed and pillows were soooooo comfortable. TV’s are now on the wall. Makes a big difference. We are walkers and decided to walk indoors on the Prom. Deck. We walk early in the morning (5:00 a.m.) and there were a few other walkers doing the same thing. It worked out perfect. International cafe was nice. Didn’t seem as congested as other ships. I still wish there was a line for black coffee only. Botticelli dining room was the best for us. We ended up with a table for 4 but it was just us. We did dine early…..5:20 p.m. Our waitress and jr waitress were outstanding. We were in and out within an hour and a half. All the staff in this dining room were amazing. Crooners is a very nice area to hang out and people watch. We sat there most afternoons and had a cocktail before dinner. It was the one area that had blue cheese stuffed olives. YUMMY Sabatini’s was excellent. Location was nice at the back of the ship, overlooking the pool. Our food was perfect, waitstaff was attentive, and our best meal. Laundry was very convenient. There were 4 washers and 4 dryers on the Emerald deck. I can’t remember how many irons but at least 4. Set up is excellent. Also, the token machine was working. Skywalkers is a perfect place to read and relax. More and more people find this hidden gem as the cruise goes on. We did a Princess excursion in St. Kitts. Local Connections: Caribbean Culinary Demonstration & Tastings with Chef. Presentation was great, food was delicious and the amount of time there was perfect. We would definitely recommend this tour. Ship is in good shape. Newer carpet, cleaning all the time, lounge chairs around the pool were comfortable. Employees on this cruise were outstanding. They were friendly and went above and beyond to make everything perfect. We went to the wine tasting and that was fun. We hadn’t been in quite a few years. Food: Short ribs were outstanding. Lots of pork, vegetarian and curry dishes on this cruise. Jerk chicken was also served twice on the menu. I love jerk chicken. Salmon dishes were delicious in the buffet and for dinner. Don’t miss the tenderloin and lobster night. Soft serve ice cream was very good. I’m glad I didn’t have it until the last day. I would have had a cone every day. Pizza by the pool was excellent. Burgers and chicken sandwiches were also good. Entertainment: Trivia, trivia, trivia. If you like trivia, this was the cruise for you. We did go quite a few times and had fun. We also did the marriage game and had a good time. The Voice competition was fun. Not a lot of competitors but it was fun to watch. The comedian Doug Funk was excellent. He was perfect for every age group. Didn’t see anyone walking out. The Negative: We had the old Plus package and didn’t realize that we had to pay to have the Medallion mailed to us and paid $14.99 for room delivery. This was very confusing to us. We thought we were all set with Plus. The first evening we went to the DaVinci dining room and asked for a table for 2. Staff told us that we requested before the cruise to be at a large table (Not true) We showed the staff our phone and it was completely different than what they showed on ALL days. Things got rectified. Heard a passenger bragging how she hasn’t made any of her dinner reservations, which were at 6:00 p.m. I think part of the dining problem is the passengers. They don’t cancel their reservations.. First morning we went to the dining room for breakfast. It was very SLOW. We did not go back again. We ate at the buffet or the International Cafe. Smokers just sit in the casino and smoke. Many are not playing a game. Princess needs to bring back a couple of no nonsmoking nights. We did go in the casino but didn’t stay long. The loungers by the pool were saved by 8:00 a.m. We had reserved the Crown Grill before the cruise for the last Thursday evening. We went there to change our reservation to a different day and was told no availability at the time we wanted (5:20 p.m.). We ended up canceling our reservation. Our money was given back to us as OBC, not back to our credit card. It was refundable OBC but we would have to wait to get it back. The restaurant had many available tables when we walked by the evening we wanted. Steak in the dining room was chewy. My husband ordered that and said he wouldn’t again. Princess future cruise package information was delivered to each room. Same thing that many of us have gotten phone calls about. Mine went right in the trash can. One day we ordered chicken sandwich and a burger to be delivered to Skywalkers. Delivery was perfect, food was hot and everything was there. That was not the case a couple days later. Food was cold, no condiments and took forever. FYI -- We sat alone at a table for 8 one evening because Princess had no tables for 2. We weren’t the only ones sitting like that. There were so many large tables. One of the employees said that they were set up for big groups and families. The employee also said that most people on this cruise wanted a private table. We received paperwork that walk offs needed to be approved and only 1 piece of luggage. You had to have a free hand for the railing. During disembarkment, they turned anyone away from the escalator if you did not have a free hand. A few people were upset. Also, there were people who did walk off and then demanded to get their luggage from the checked area. Those poor employees were getting yelled at from the passengers that weren’t suppose to do walk off. We noticed that not as many people were ordering food delivered as in the past. Maybe the delivery charge has cut down on that. Princess theater and explorer’s lounge fill up quickly. Get there early. This cruise met our expectations and we had a great time.
  7. I wanted to report back that we used Parkbytheports and it was great. I don't think we will ever go back to parking right at the port. We find the port parking very confusing, even when we didn't have two different piers to deal with. The daily rate is also cheaper.

  9. I am currently on the ruby and yesterday, an envelope was slipped under the door with information on purchasing this product. It went right in the trash can.
  10. We are on the ruby right now. Breakfast this morning was SLOOOOOOW. It took forever to get a cup of coffee. Food was very good when it arrived. Not sure we will go back.
  11. Thanks everyone for your replies. We decided to go with https://www.parkbytheports.com/ We made our reservation and are ready to go.
  12. After 32 cruises with Princess, this is a first for us. We are cruising out of Port Everglades. Embarkment is at pier 21, disembarkment will be pier 2. What have people done when it's two different piers? Is it safe to walk from pier to pier? We are walkers, so there are no physical issues for us. Is there a shuttle? Which parking garage is better to park in? Thanks in advance for suggestions and info.
  13. Sorry......what a dope I am. We are leaving out of Port Everglades.

  15. This was my review from our December 2023 cruise. The good: - Our room was ready when we got on the ship. - The food was excellent. The beef tenderloin was truly the best we have had on any ship. - We had anytime dining and arrived between 5:15 - 5:30 p.m. The maximum we had to wait was 10 minutes for a table. - Puerto Rico was one of our ports and we loved it. We did the Princess walking tour. Our guide used a microphone and we heard everything she said. The lunch and drink at the end was very good. We sat at a table for six and met two other couples. Nice time. - We had an outstanding meal at Sabatini's. The waitstaff was wonderful.....It was definitely a 10. - We didn't have the best weather for cruising but the captain did his best to go around the bad weather. We had some rocking but I really didn't think it was bad. - Our bed and pillows were so comfortable. - Disembarkation went pretty quick. We handle our own bags so it usually goes fast. - International cafe was very good. I just wish there was a line for black coffee only. - Pizza by the pool was excellent. We also had burgers and chicken sandwiches one day and they were also good. - We won at the casino.....yeah! (smoke was bad though) The negative: - We were in room E731, mini suite. Second day of the cruise, our balcony had at least an inch or two of water. Not sure where the water came from but we told the room steward and he removed the water while we were out of the room. We were told the drain was plugged. On the last day of the cruise, we had A LOT of rain. Our balcony flooded and water came into our room. (They obviously didn't unplug the drain) We were sitting on the couch, watching tv and saw the water pouring in. There was a big puddle right by the slider and it was running down to the bed. Our luggage was under the bed and we quickly put the luggage on the bed. My husband went to get the room steward and he called his supervisor. Towels were put down to try to stop it for going all over the room. Maintenance came with a shop vac and fans. Supervisor advised us to move and called the front desk for availability. There was one mini suite available.....not comparable to ours but we decided we had to move. We packed everything up and went to room D732. Our new room steward tried to stop us from going down the hall and we said "we are the new people for one night". He knew about us but was not happy. He never talked to us and actually turned his back when he saw us. I get it.....he needed to clean that room and we were only there for one night. The beds in the new room cannot be made into a queen bed. They were so uncomfortable. They are right up against the wall and if you roll over your arm hits the wall. Not good. - Toilet issue......we had no water going into the toilet to flush it. One day was really bad. Our room steward was notified and we did have water flowing again. There were two other days that there was water but very little. - The wheelhouse bar opens at 4:00 p.m. We liked going there with the other couple we were traveling with. Most afternoon, there was no one to wait on us. We would go down to Explorers Lounge to get our drinks. We could have ordered them on the medallion but it was easier to just get them. No blue cheese stuffed olives in any of the bars. (I know this has been discussed on cruise critic already) - Our last dinner was at Steamers. We normally eat around 5:30 p.m. but the earliest we could get was 7:30 p.m. We called a few times during the cruise but was always told that was the earliest. We got there around 7:15 p.m. and was quickly seated. There were maybe 6 other tables being used. The place was empty! Our dinner was ok but nothing special. We all said "one and done". - We will probably not cruise on the Caribbean Princess anytime soon. We have sailed 11 times out of 32 cruises on the Caribbean. I have always enjoyed sailing on her but this was not the best cruise and had nothing to do with the weather. Our next cruise is in March on the Ruby.
