Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. It will be listed in your available excursions.
  2. Log on to My Silversea and study the excursions and select according to your likeing.
  3. They are way more similar than different. The ships may look a little different and your butler on one line is your room attendant on the other.
  4. Silversea will provide a private car. Just book one with them.
  5. Some laundry rooms are open 24 hours that I know. If not you can use some of your Frequent Flyer Miles to get in...
  6. A couple more ways: 1) If it’s the Wind or Cloud, there are lots of spare boots under the seats in the changing room. Just lift the boxes lids and try some on. 2) You can source some small, thick plastic bags and put them on if they won’t let you get off the bow on the zodiac boat. I found some thick plastic bags that just fit my hiking boots and gave a couple of dozen to the crew when I left. Just completed a few weeks ago, 10 wet landings and was able to get all the way to the front bow and land on dry land on seven landings. Only used bags twice.
  7. Don't think the cruise lines, passengers and gulf countries are happy at this time. I'm sure people living in Palestine and Israel would love to have their biggest problem, being the cruise company changed their itinerary.
  8. You are over thinking it. The ship will select a time zone that works for the ship, regardless of the actual time zone. Just check with your chronicles each night.
  9. Early in the season will see the following: 1) some passes may still be blocked by ice. 2) Penguins will be nesting and may not be too active. 3) things should look clean and prestine. 4) may be a tad bit cooler in temperatures.
  10. Just relax and talk to your butler when you get there.
  11. Its a little complicated due to different carries. Most texting is passed on from the cellular side and when traveling, most people will turn off roaming, cutting off the cell connection. If, lets say someone has T-Mobile that includes international travel, they will still receive texting. If someone or most carriers when at sea for day after day will lose connection and get no texting. Forcing or replying to a text will connect to the ships cell connection or connect to the closest land base, causing a roaming fee. It is possible while at sea to trick the phone by temporally turning off airplane mode and turning on WIFI calling. this will usually make the phone think it is in connection to a cell tower and download all your texts and you can send texts during that time also. Of course an app like whatsapp will always work because it relays on WIFI only but the other person must have whatsapp also.
  12. You have three ways to call. First - is in your room, you can call directly to the US and it will be on your shipboard account. The cost has come down a lot over the years and check with reception on that ships current cost per minuet. Second - is to use standard ships WIFI and you will need to be competent in how to set up your cell phone to use WIFI calling. NOTE ( If in bad areas you will need to upgrade to Premium WIFI Plan to eliminate dropped calls) Third - is to upgrade the premium WIFI and use video calling on Facebook, apple or Skype. Also its best to let people and customers know to not Text you. Texting onboard is a lot more complicated and deserves its own thread.
  13. An "Open Booking" (floating booking) will be one page sheet and cost $1,000 per person. It will list at the bottom, that it is only good for 6 months, for you to identify a cruise and apply it. A "Voyage Confirmation" is a specific voyage and it appears that is what you got. You will only have up to 151 days prior to your Dawn voyage to transfer your voyage to a different date or itinerary. If you make a voyage change, your 5% discount will be applied to the new voyage price.
  14. First you need to identify if you have a future cruise booked or a floating onboard booking. One will let you transfer your voyage up to two years and the other is only good for six months to identify a voyage. Both are refundable less $500 American dollars.
