Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I have been reading this topic and find it very confusing. I am from Europe and about to book a Escape cruise from Italy to Spain. We normally book via a website in the USA because they usually have better deals and more flexible change rules. For this cruise booking via Ncl in my own country or via the US website is almost the same price. So purely for the Free at Sea : does it matter in what country I book?
  2. Hi, We have only cruised with Royal Caribbean before but want to try something different. Found a really good deal on the Escape for the summer if 2024. Thinking about booking it. But then I started reading the reviews. They are so negative about food, crowds, noice and smell. I also know that it's mostly unhappy people that write internet reviews. So wanted to come here and double check. Escape yes or no? The itinerary is from August 21st so still a little in the school holidays. We don't have kids and with Royal usually spent a lot of time in the Solarium that is adult only.
  3. Hi there, Looking to make a switch from Royal Caribbean to Celebrity Cruises. Was looking at Ascent or Apex because they are newer ships but found out the Constellation is offering the best itinerary for our wishes (Dubrovnik, Koper, Split). The reviews of this ship are mixed, mainly because it is an older ship. So this has me somewhat worries especially since we are 'used to' newer ships with RCL. I also saw online she is supposed to get a refurbishment in the spring of 2024. But can't really find what they will upgrade. Does anybody have more info on this, or other information about Constellation? Or alternative is the new Sun Princess, but the itinerary is less suitable. We are a couple, 42yo, no kids. Do like dining, solarium, theatre shows. Don't need: rock climbing, bumper cars, flow riders etc.
  4. So you can't logout on 1 phone and then go online on another phone with the same package?
  5. Hi, Just booked our first cruises with a group of 14 on Euribia next year to Norwegian Fjords. Some questions : 1. How do we get seated together at dinner. Can we arrange this somewhere? 2. How can we get show reservations? Do we do this now, or on the ship? Can 1 of us do this for the group? 3. Should we buy lanyards for the kids for a seapass? 4. How do we get an early boarding time? 5. Do we need to bring towels? 6.When and where do we sign up for kids club?
  6. Hi, Because it is actually much cheaper than at home we were planning on having husband's suit dry cleaned during our Anthem cruise. However been reading some negative things about laundry in general and now somewhat apprehensive. Does anyone here have experience with their dry cleaning?
  7. Hasn't been decided yet, but it will be years in the future. Nothing is even final yet. There are no worries necessary for already booked cruises.
  8. I am from the Netherlands, so read some Dutch articles about it. Apparently it is mainly about moving the cruise terminal out of the city center to another location. Not a ban all together.
  9. Hi, I am cruising on Anthem of the Seas which has a Johnny Rockets. I read somewhere that they have really good milkshakes, so might try one. To my understanding this is not included in my drink package. I saw with my Crown and Anchor benefits I can get 50% off with a coupon twice on the cruise. My question is: where do I get this coupon? Or is it just a virtual benefit stored on my Seapass?
  10. Hi, I posted this recently at the MSC boards, but got hardly any response. So hoping you guys can help me please. New cruiser question. We are thinking about booking a MSC Euribia cruise to Norway next year. We are a group of 14 including 7 children. Because this is a family trip we would like to be able to eat together. Is it possible with MSC to have a 14-person table in the main dining room? Do they have large tables in the buffet restaurant? Other questions: - Do we need to make reservations in advance to shows? Do we do this on an app before the cruise, or once we are onboard? - Do we need to be smart about combining drinkers in the same cabin? Are all people in the cabin required to get the same drink package? - Are there formal nights on MSC cruises? - How do we acquire an early boarding time? - Do we need to make reservations for kids club? - What is the main language spoken by staff? I read somewhere there are super family cabins available where they combine several cabins into 1 large one. How do we find these on the site and are they recommended? Any other tips for new cruises and for larger group cruisers? Where do you typically book your cruise, with a travel agent or with MSC directly? Thanks!

  12. I keep reading on several sites that Anthem has an engine issue and is adjusting itineraries until June. How do repairs usually work? June seems like a long time. Should we anticipate changes for our September cruise as well?
  13. Hi, We are on an 11-night sailing on Anthem in September. They are offering a 3-day class pass for 39USD and unlimited for 99USD. We would like to decide onboard which pass suits us best since we won't have the schedule before that. My husband only wants to do spinning classes. In the cruiseplanner it doesn't indicate that the passes are discounted in any way. Am I right to assume they will also sell them onboard for the same price?
  14. Called Royal: was told it's not available for my sailing :(
  15. I am on the same cruise, booked in the USA. Also no luck :(
