Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. What you propose is absolutely doable in fact you could leave at 9.30 if you preferred less time hanging around FCO. I do not remember specific timings but certainly you would be out of the cabin by 0800. There are any number of car companies as this is a well trodden route. Romecabs.com is one Of many I have used in the past.
  2. I also had a bit of explaining to do when I spoke to the New York office after a holiday and told them I had spent the previous week on the Norfolk Broads!
  3. Friends of Bill W had a nightly meeting on Moon a couple of weeks ago as did friends of Dorothy.
  4. Lovely to see the AH frog eye Sprite. My first car and cost me all of £100.
  5. This is the old tea tower from the Wind.
  6. Venetian lounge often has a film on first and last nights otherwise you suite will be your cinema.
  7. Have had 766 a couple of times and would be my cabin of choice. No noise problems.
  8. I have got it all wrong. I thought the books were provided to reserve loungers.
  9. For Spirit a couple of weeks ago we used projectscreen.co.uk fit to fly test for £17 each. Do it yourself at home and send results to them by on line and certificate comes back by return.
  10. You are quite correct but I was not referring to breakfast and lunch. I also have many hundred days and have never before seen this. I think the fact there are more newbies than Venetians may have something to do with it. A very different vibe on this cruise.
  11. It also depends on how the restaurant manager operates. Currently on the Spirit we have had shorts and jeans in the restaurant and the wearing of jackets appears entirely optional.
  12. Sorry to hear of your problems wren and hope you get resolution. I see you must have been in Greek waters about a month ago and would be interested to hear of the covid protocols. We boarded Spirit yesterday in Venice and hit Greek waters in a few days time. Upon boarding we received a letter on Covid protocols from the captain stating that Greek authorities require mask wearing on the ship at all times when in Greek waters either indoors or outside. This is the first I have heard of such a ruling and I bumped into the cruise director who knew nothing and told me and the situation was the same as in all other waters. Your comments would be appreciated.
  13. Received from SS today instructions for joining on 1st July sailing shows they will NOT provide pier-side testing at Venice and failure to provide satisfactory test results will result in denial of boarding. Presume this will apply to all departures from EU countries until the EU change their requirement.
  14. For those in the UK there is a test station in arrivals at Heathrow T5 (and others). We are booked in for a test at 2020 hours (the last slots) and staying at the Sofitel overnight to fly out first thing. So would easily be within time parameters even with delays.
