Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thank you so much! Still trying to decide what to do, but I am clear about everything now.
  2. If I buy a 4 night Special Dining Package, is Dinner on the Edge a restaurant I can choose from? I ask this because the per person charge if $118.99 and the complete package for 4 nights is $137.99. I wonder if they exclude the more expensive restaurants from the package? Also, how difficult is it to reserve the four nights as soon as I get on the ship? Do I go to each separate restaurant to secure a reservation? If not, what time does the maitre d ' show up and where to make the reservations? Thank you.
  3. That’s OK,. All I wanted to know is if they have restrooms. I am sure they do!
  4. Thank you for all the info and pictures. They are wonderful! On the Celebrity Beyond itinerary it has March 15, 2024-Panama Canal: 6:00 AM (A) 3:00 PM (D). The next entry is: March 15, 2024- Colon: 5:00 PM (A) 9:00 PM (D). The next day we are cruising! So, I am guessing it is one or the other- stay on ship through the locks or miss the locks for the ferry excursion or another excursion. I will most likely stay on the ship. There may be complications waiting for the ferry to get the okay to go through the locks plus not sure what amenities the ferry has and how busy it will be. We are not up for standing several hours. Thank you so much for your information. It is very helpful to me.
  5. Has anyone done this tour? Can you tell me, logistically, what is involved? I don't want to get stuck in traffic. Also, I am thinking I can learn just as much looking this info up on Youtube or online. I have read reviews where people get stuck in traffic and it's very HOT in Panama. Thank you.
  6. Destination Highlight: Panama Canal Locks and Culebra Cut Cruise Day 5 - Colon, Panama From $151.99 / per adult $234.99 onboard $136.99 / per child $210.99 onboard (35% OFF)FLASH SALE Reserve Overview Board a local ferry and venture into the Panama Canal to experience the unforgettable sensation of crossing between two oceans in one day. Cruise through the Culebra Cut, the biggest structural challenge of the canal. Feel the waters slowly rise and fall as your captain navigates the massive lock system. Spend your day inspired by one of the greatest engineering feats in history. Highlights Navigate through the incredible lock system of the Panama Canal by ferry. Admire Panama's many manmade treasures, including the Bridge of the Americas. Important details and advisements This tour includes a lunch buffet served onboard the ferry. Guests receive a commemorative certificate for participating on the Panama Canal Transit. The Panama Canal tour and its final duration is subject to change as per confirmation with the Panama Canal Authorities. In case needed, the tour can be operated in a different way by transiting only one of the sets of locks. Please be advised that there may be a substantial delay at the pier while awaiting the required Panama Canal Pilots to arrive. Although the planned arrival time of the pilots is reconfirmed, their actual arrival time may vary and is beyond the control of Celebrity Cruises. Your understanding and patience is appreciated. The travel time on the ferry is dependent on the schedule set by the Canal Authorities. Tour duration varies. Canal transits are scheduled and controlled by the Panama Canal Authority based on their operation inside the locks. The lockage schedule for the tour is received only on the day before the operation (24 hours prior). The return drive from Panama City to the ship is approximately one hour and 15 minutes on the new four lane highway - very scenic. The transit itinerary for this tour is subject to change depending on your cruise ship's transit times through the locks. For guests sailing on the Celebrity Edge: The Panama Canal Authority assigns specific time slots for the transit of a vessel through the locks. The ship will anchor in a designated area and will wait for instructions. Once clearance is transmitted to the ship, procedures begin to bring ship's tour passengers ashore. Therefore, tour departure times may vary and will be announced onboard. The return time of the ship to Colon Port may also be delayed due to transit through the locks. We recommend that you are prepared for any potential of delay in the ship's arrival to Colon and plan accordingly by bringing any needed medication or essential items on tour This tour is 8 hours. Has anyone done this? Is it worth the time? It means not going through the partial transit of the Panama Canal, with Celebrity Beyond. Thank you for your responses.
