Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Not a good conversion. Needed a gut and redesign instead the changes were a bad flip. Had not stayed in the family veranda version, but suite had one bedroom - second sleep area converted to dressing area. Several narrow closets. Cabinets and drawers in the living area. The drawers were useful, so of course there were more cabinets that you had to get on the floor to access. Convenient dining table. Smallest bathroom ever, one usable cabinet on the left. Shower was tiny but functional. Priced like a celebrity suite. I’d take a corner s1 every time.
  2. LBethge@celebrity.com Got this email from another business site - didn’t see it on a quick scroll
  3. Thanks. We are booked for early June 2024 for the 16 day but don’t have the full details.
  4. To you return to Quito from Machu Picchu or fly home from a different location?
  5. We did this recently in Naples. As the last, was unable to shop for food for our dinner based on regulations. 🤷 Did take us to a limoncello shop, they greeted him like a long lost family member and I have never had so many product samples (they had other liqueur flavors, cookies, candies, oil and vinegars). The chef went back to the ship while we continued on to lunch at a local place where they prepared fresh mozzarella. We visited Positano and Sorrento then returned to the ship. We had an Italian family style meal in Tuscan Grille. After extensive appetizers went on to several mains and sides and then dessert. One dessert was an amazing gluten free almond cake with strawberries that he dressed with a white rose balsamic from the shop. Best gluten free item I’ve ever eaten. Bummed on the lack of shopping, but we had a great day and an incredible dinner.
  6. We cruised in September 2022 - last sail for the longer cruise. I believe there were four ships in port. Had special status and 11:30 boarding. Luggage a little confused but easy. They dumped passengers for all ships in the same line for processing, so endless lines with no payoff. Our celebrity check in probably took five minutes, but getting through the terminal was 2.5 - 3 hours, and we heard it got worse for later check in.
  7. If you want to skip the line you need to book with the vatican directly. But you could only do it once you were there and could give them local contact information. I toured years ago, and went through the line with an outside company because I like to plan, so things could have changed.
  8. That was from Capri. We are on the same cruise but in 2023, so I'm working through the cities. Have been to Florence for longer stays, so will try to arrange something closer to the port.
  9. Herculaneum is a short taxi ride and very doable. We hired a guide after we arrived - history professor(!). It's a former resort town and closer to the volcano, so different effect than Pompeii. Still an active dig sight. Really great experience.
  10. I was going to say no, but as I think of the closet and make-up area, that could be the conversion. It connected to the main bedroom leading from the room entry. But the added closet space was very shallow as was the limited shelving around the make-up/desk area. The picture with the robe- that is the depth of that closet.
  11. We had this ‘suite’ last November for an ABC cruise on Silhouette. Could not get any pictures before the cruise so had no idea what was done for the conversion. Hated it. Teeny tiny bathroom with almost no storage, small shower but it was functional. The cabinetry was probably replaced but had weirdly small closets, shelving with some drawers along a couple of walls. The drawers were actually useful, so of course it was mostly shelving. The furniture shown above is accurate. I prefer arms on sofas and chairs. Was able to use pillows as a substitute. Large space but barely functional. Did not have the extra room, don’t know if that never existed or was eliminated. They offered to move us to an available s1, which I would have done if not already fully unpacked. Those are lovely corner rooms. I expected a gut, not new furniture.
  12. Almost no N95 masks are made in the US. Main difference is that N95 do have to be tested regularly to meet medical standard. Also, both must fit tightly to the face for maximum protection. Which can get uncomfortable, especially when we only wear them part time.
