  1. May 16th Symphony too....changes announced yesterday....now Nassau instead of Labadee and all 3 port dates switched around...we now have 2 sea days then 3 port days in a row then 2 sea days.
  2. Thanks..guess I just had today's date in my head and not Week Of
  3. I'm not seeing anything new...is there a specific time they will post today?
  4. They usually play it on TV later...you can catch it then.
  5. Arrived on the Jewel on a Sat in November...took taxi to Fort Scaur..think it was $25. Explored the fort then walked down a hill to the left of fort...very shaded tree path...not clearly defined but bottom of hill we turned left and walked rail trail straight across a few roads then eventually made a left and found somerset police station. Map is confusing but there are a few brown rail trail signs...at one point we passed a church on the right and a school on the left...after going to pharmacy and supermarket in somerset plus eyeing the menu at pizza place we took bus back to Dockyard. Had to stop.a local or two to ask for directions...map.had us turning but we really needed to stay straight across 2 or 3 roads...be aware there are a few motorized bikes on the trail..you can hear them coming so there is time to move to the edge of the trail.
  6. On Jewel last week with stop in Aruba. Taxi from ship to Eagle Beach $15 Dropped us off at spot near cocoloco bar....2 chairs plus umbrella plus wifi and bathroom use $50 for the day. We only needed half day til 12 as we had lunch plans in town but no adjustment to price. Lovely stretch of beach/water but windy and the sand does blow. Thankfully umbrella blocked the sand blowing around. By 11 am the tour buses started dropping off large groups.... We left soon after and took taxi to El Gaucho in town $17...plenty of taxi at eagle.... Had great lunch...skirt steak....walked back through town and souvenir shopped on the way to ship. It's a bit of a walk but great exercise after a big lunch.
  7. On the Jewel right now...we stopped in Curacao this week. Went to taxi stand and asked for Mambo beach....he was loading up a shared minivan taxi told us $8 each...ride took 20 min. For way back driver said to return to drop off spot and wait...options are another shared taxi or solo taxi $30 ...we ended up with another shared taxi for return. On Mambo we walked straight down and out to beach...we headed to the right past a bar....waiter said this part was called wet and wild side...2 sunbed cushions plus umbrella was $28. He wanted cc but we said we only had cash....no problem he took our cash ...lovely quiet side..not many people walking through...about 2 hours later our ship excursion came by and dropped off 20 plus..they were rows behind us...decent beach day...weather was sunny water was warm...happy with our choice.
  8. Great steak at el gauchos...our cruise stops there in Nov and that is our plan for lunch.
  9. I'm looking at Odyssey for the 11 nighter in jan 2025 ..there are 2 sailings...one I believe is yeshiva week with lots of kids and a kosher solarium bistro ..the other week falls within our 10 year wedding anniversary. Either one avoids the airport which is why.husband loves sailing out of bayonne....I tend to get bored on the longer cruises ...not sure how our 9 night Jewel will be next month..it's such a smaller ship but bermuda, aruba, curacao was hard to pass up even having to fly back from PR. Never did Curacao but am very familiar with Bermuda and Aruba..think I would take the risk of losing a $200 deposit and book it.
  10. Do you get price drops before final payment on NRD cruises? I have never done an NRD booking.
  11. tried searching but guess i am not using the right search words. next month we are on Jewel ..... while onboard if we book an 11 night cruise in a balcony cabin for 2025 ex bayonne what is the deposit per person ? and does the deposit change if you book refundable vs non refundable or the deposit amount on board is the same regardless of what you choose. looking at a connecting balcony -- CB - it's coming up today as $7235 with refundable deposit and $6318 with non refundable. that's a $900+ difference there's a 80% chance we will take the 11 night cruise if we get time off approvals etc etc
  12. I go to book sales.....booksalefinder.com or estate sales and stock up on books for my cruises.....usually bring 3 to 4 then I leave them behind in the ship library...pickings are random on ship...i also bring a handful of magazines..
  13. Ports can change at any time for any reason...if the DR / Antigua are the main reason for the trip consider flying there directly for a land only vacation.
