  1. Here I was looking for a simple answer...LOL The link that @Fouremco provided seems to say that I won't need to collect my bags, but I wonder if that's complicated by the fact that this isn't an AC to AC connection. Also, the lengthy layover may come into play. I would really rather NOT need to collect my bags, I'll be fine at the hotel with just my carry-on. I guess I'll find out at CDG and not before when I see if my luggage is tagged to YHZ or YYZ.
  2. Better late than never... My apologies, I meant to post back sooner. I can confirm that the no-show approach worked perfectly. My aunt received a refund of taxes and fees to her CC and my mother checked in without any trouble. I'm sure this is a regular occurrence.
  3. We'll be arriving at Pearson from Paris on Air France after our April Transatlantic, then taking Air Canada to Halifax early the next morning. The tix were all booked through Air France by the HAL Flight Ease department. We have a 9 hour layover, so we've booked an airport hotel to hopefully get a few hours sleep. I'm hoping that my luggage will be checked through right to Halifax, but I doubt I'll be that lucky. AF and AC use different terminals at Pearson, so I imagine that I'll need to collect and then re-check my luggage. Just what I'd hoped to avoid after a loooong day. Any thoughts?
  4. Thanks for the reassurance. I finally found similar info elsewhere on CC. https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2970043-first-middle-names-merged/ Please disregard this thread.
  5. For our upcoming repositioning cruise, we arranged our own transportation to the embarkation port since we're flying to FLL early, but had HAL handle flights back home. In my original "Fly/Cruise Schedule" dated 08/15/23. The document asked me to "verify your full name and date of birth to make sure it matches the identification document that you will be presenting at the airport." I looked over all of the details on the HAL documentation and everything looked perfect. A few months later, I received an updated schedule because one of my flights had changed. It was not a big change and didn't cause me any grief, so I accepted it. Again, I checked all details and everything was fine. Today, a month out from departure, I decided to print some documents and re-check all the details. When I logged on to Air France and entered the 6 digit LOC, I got a bit of a surprise. My first and middle names have been combined in their system. As an example, if my correct name were Steven James Morgan (it's not), then they have it listed as Stevenjames Morgan. I checked on Air Canada (the second leg of my flight home) and they have the same incorrect information. It's not a surprise since the entire trip seems to be ticketed through AF. I called HAL Flight Ease and the rep there assured me that it "SHOULDN'T" be a problem. I asked her to email me a confirmation that it "WOULDN'T" be a problem. She forwarded me another copy of the "Fly/Cruise Schedule" which again showed my name correctly. I found some reassurance on another site where it was stated that all airline ticketing would have names in the format of "MORGAN/STEVENJAMES". No space at all between names. I travel with a NEXUS card, which makes me a "Trusted Traveler" to TSA but I also know that NEXUS carries zero weight outside of NA. Can anyone here comment? If I need to get stuck anywhere, then Amsterdam would be near the top of my list, but all things considered, I'd like to minimize any drama.
  6. Thank you for the replies. A standard coffee at the Lido will do fine until I can get an Americano at then Grand Dutch Cafe. I always travel with an insulated mug anyway. The sunrise suggestion sounds good too!
  7. My DW and I will be joining Nieuw Statendam in Fort Lauderdale on April 7 for the 14 day repositioning transatlantic crossing. We're both really looking forward to this adventure. It's been years since we've been on HAL. We really enjoyed Eurodam at that time. Most of our recent cruising has been on NCL and we're looking forward to a lot of the little niceties on HAL again. Unfortunately, after many, many years of the daily grind, I'm physically unable to sleep beyond 4:30 or 5am. When I wake up at this time, I like to get out of the cabin and allow my DW to sleep like a normal person. Where on Nieuw Statendam can I go to have a quiet coffee and maybe a pastry very early in the morning? Thanks for any and all replies.
  8. That's pretty much what I was thinking. Giving NCL notice won't be helpful since they can't resell the cabin last minute anyway. Will my mom be able to check in online without her sister? As far as the "single supplement" comment above, she'll already be paying 100% supplement effectively.
  9. We are booked for a 7 day itinerary in November. We have two cabins booked. One is for my DW and me. The other is for my 81yo mother and her 78yo sister. We recently found out that my aunt won't be able to make it due to deteriorating health. We're past final payment and didn't take any insurance. My question is whether to notify NCL now or just wait until we're at the pier. I know there won't be any refund, but I just want to make things as smooth as possible for my mom. She tends to worry. Right now, I'm planning on checking in my mom online in advance and then just showing up at the pier. Any thoughts from the experienced NCL'ers here?
