Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I figured as much! My improvised notes should suffice, though. 😎
  2. Going on Prima to Bermuda in early April, and have heard that many passengers find its flow of public spaces pretty choppy or confusing...I was wondering if any pocket deck plans are available from the main service desk or wherever. If not, I will check them out on the NCL website, and jot down what's where deck by deck-- e.g., such-and-such restaurant on deck 7 midship starboard, etc. (Yes, I know, there's always the phone, but I hate having to use it all the time...Remember PAPER? It never needs batteries! 😆)
  3. See, this probably is exactly what I need-- more people around to just shame me into getting with the damn program already! 😆🤣🙃
  4. My cruise, on Valiant Lady, is to begin two weeks from today. While I did see the app mentioned more than once on their website, I saw NOTHING about pre-registration, even within their extremely lengthy "FAQ" list. I am somewhat "tech-unfriendly"...I don't think of it as being allergic to some technology, but some technology is clearly allergic to ME. 🤒🤔😖 As I've put it to various people, all of whom burst out laughing, (so they definitely relate!) "I'd rather have a tooth yanked out with rusty pliers wielded by a blind baboon without benefit of anesthetic than try and put another app in my phone." Question one: Will arriving at the pier not having done the pre-registration be a big deal / pain in the butt / very time-consuming? Question two: Will the few weirdos on the ship trying to work things without their phones be "outcasts"? Or is the tablet VV provides in the cabin an adequate substitute?
  5. I was just about to ask the same thing...I got a good rate on a direct flight home (Hartford) on Sun Feb 11th which doesn't leave until 7:45. In a pinch, I might go back to my pre-cruise hotel, which is right near the airport, but obviously Miami Beach (or perhaps downtown Miami) would be a more interesting and pleasant place to spend the day after debarkation. Wouldn't need to be anything fancy, since I would probably want to just leave the major luggage there for the day and wander around...Any suggestions would be welcome!
  6. Thanks for the replies, everyone...It's supposed to be Cozumel at its craziest, with about five other ships there that day, all of them enormous. IF they are well-filled, to something like their standard two-to-a-cabin capacity, that will mean close to 20,000 passengers in port IN ADDITION to the mere 600 to 700 the Insignia will carry. 😮 So since we're not due in until 10 am, I'll be grateful if there's any pier space left for us at all! 😂🙃
  7. There's one right near the middle of town, and a couple located south of town-- those are usually where the megaships tie up. I will be sailing on Insignia, if that makes a difference-- at a mere 30,000 gross tons, like a gnat compared to Royal's behemoths. 😅
  8. Bobbi, as "the kids" say, your response to my query was "fire"! 🤣 I just never dreamed it would be LITERALLY fire! 😨🤣 Sorry to hear about your misfortune...Also sorry to hear that the movie situation onboard will not be up to what HAL had made available in 2018, but I will try to bring a few fave CD's along for the music side of things in any case. 🤞🙃
  9. I went on a Norway cruise in 2018 on the previous version of the Rotterdam with some friends from my town, and one of the nice features was a big selection of DVD's one could check out from the front desk, library-style, to play in your cabin. 1) Does the Zaandam have in-cabin players hooked up to the televisions? 2) If so, do they also function as CD players in case I want to bring a few music favorites from home? 3) And does Zaandam also offer DVD's for loan at the Guest Services desk? Any up-to-date info on this will be much appreciated! 🙂
