So I booked this cruise thru the Blue Chip offer at a steal not knowing it was also a Tampa Bay Bucs fan cruise. I live in the Tampa area but I'm not a sports fan so I didn't even know this was a thing. Hey, we'll roll with it. I had booked this for my friend's birthday but she decided to go to Ghana instead. Hmmm.....Africa or Nassau....can't say I blame her. So anywho, my friend Gwen is taking her place. She and I sailed on the Constellation last Christmas and it was one of the best cruises I've taken out of 32 and counting. The Silhouette is my favorite ship of all time - I love the S class ships the best.

Greetings from still cold Canada where nothing is blooming because it keeps snowing!  But this time next week DH and I will be in Amsterdam enjoying 3 days pre- cruise before embarking on our long postponed river cruise. We booked a Christmas markets cruise in November 2019 for 2020…well you can guess what happened so we switched that to the south of France travelling in 2022 but I had brain surgery in March that year and wasn’t allowed to travel. So we switched back to a Christmas market trip for 2023 but my doctor didn’t want me to go if ice and snow was a possibility so…ta-da…we booked this Windmills,Tulips and Belgium Delights River cruise which then turned into this culinary experience and we couldn’t be happier.

Join DH, our DD and me on our journey on the beautiful Anthem of the Seas from Bayonne, NJ to Port Canaveral, Coco Cay and Nassau.  The Anthem is part of a class of ship we have not sailed.  I have seen pictures of the ship, and I can ’t wait to get aboard.  . . . but, mostly I want to get away from the cold and rainy weather on the east coast today.  😞

Here we go again...back on my "tradition: repositioning cruise for Bliss. I have done this sailing, both North and South, every time it has been offered (I'm noticing it is not scheduled to do end of season South this year and no sign of either for next year - don't let me down NCL, I need this tradition in my life)

A few weeks ago I promised to try and post a live blog, from the Vista.  We are starting a few days prior to embarkation to talk about pre-cruise prep.  We are O virgins, as this will be our first time on any O ship.  As to a background, suffice it to say we have only 50 years of extensive cruise experience with many different cruise lines (budget to luxury) and vessels.  Whether we stick with this blog will depend on the onboard Internet connection and whether we get too lazy.  We will post the facts, and our impressions, and welcome comments, criticism, etc.

Next Tuesday we will be leaving for our six-night pre-cruise trip to Sydney prior to sailing on the Majestic Princess.  We booked our 15-hour non-stop Business Class flight via EZair on United Airlines.  Our EZair fare was almost 50% less than any other available options.  We booked our return flight, Seattle>LAX, directly via American Airlines.  We will be spending three nights in Seattle before flying home.

Coming soon… our adventures down under on Edge!  We booked this trip in Dec 2021 on our first cruise after the shutdown.  It’s hard to believe we are in Sydney and almost ready to set sail. First time to Australia, first time to New Zealand, and first time on Edge.  I hope to provide some insights, some laughs, and inspire you to explore new destinations.  After all, travel helps us grow a bit closer to other people, cultures, and ways of life.

It's been hard to find much information on sailing with Celestyal pre-cruise.  I thought it might be helpful to future cruisers to report from our experience.  I keep a log of our travels and hope to post the log daily or as time and internet connection allows.  Here is the pre-cruise background:

Our home country overwhelms us with dreary, gloomy weather – it's cold, it's dark – there are days when we have to turn on the lights from morning till evening, it's so dim... We long for a bit of warmth and a bit of light.
 
We quickly researched and found out that due to the route change (Israel), the Infinity is offering a very affordable tour of Greece. We haven't visited Greece by ship before – the weather there should also be pleasant – so we quickly decided that we wanted to book.

This trip was a super last minute decision. Mr. IT and I decided 15 nights from the cruise that we would book it. I called 14 days out and was luckily still able to get an ocean balcony. He said they only had two more available. My free casino offer was for a junior suite but those were sold out. 😞

Yes a funny title for a cruise report but one of the things that is on my bucket list since I first started a bucket list was to photograph Mt. Fuji without it covered in cloud. We have had nearly 100 trips to Japan but am still after that shot. The first opportunity will come on the Muse when we visit Shimizu.

Winter bumped up against spring today with blustery showers. In a moment of clear skies, the neighbour kids ran across my lawn with their Nerf guns poised and I took a moment to pause at their freedom and joy.
 
My own joy happens in a few days as I embark on the Breakaway for a B2B. This will be a different cruise as I am solo for the first week then have 3 friends (2 from home, 1 from Cruise Critic) joining for the second leg.

As a means of putting off the task of packing my bags, I thought I'd kick off the conversation here.  Later this afternoon we'll head off to LHR where we're staying overnight before an early morning flight to Rio tomorrow, via Madrid.  There follows a couple of nights in the JW Marriott in Copacabana, Rio before boarding Voyager on Tuesday morning.  As usual, I'll aim to update my Elegant Sufficiency blog daily, internet and time permitting, and will drop in here now and again.

It's time to fire up my little appetizer NCL Live for '24, a four day Bahamarama Spring Break bonanza on the ol' Sun. If you're unfamiliar, my better half @HelloItsMeB and I are sailing on a 10-day Pearl from Trieste in June, so that will be a much more substantial and (hopefully) interesting ride, but let's be honest, it's been a decade long year at work thus far, and the spring break respite couldn't be appreciated more. Soooo, if you're into the inherent and inevitable chaos of a Spring Break 4 day, this is the place!

It's that time again, time to set sail on another cruise adventure. Monday I will be boarding Celebrity Constellation for a 12 Night Ultimate Caribbean & The Americas cruise. Although I usually sail solo, I am excited to be bringing my mom along for the ride on this one.

I was indecisive as to whether to attempt a live a review as I'm winging it I feel like on this cruise. I booked this cruise a few months ago when I decided I wanted to try cruising solo, as well as to try cruising a new to me cruise line. 
 
A little back information: 
 
 
I've sailed on over 40 cruises between Carnival (Platinum) and Royal (Diamond+). I usually sail with either my youngest daughter or one of my cruise buddy girlfriends. I've read so many wonderful solo reviews lately it's prompted me to want to start sailing solo myself.....n
