As I mention we had a cruise out of Malta Sept 5th and received an email this past Weds the cruise was cancel with no real explanation. It was the Malta/Med Cruise. The strange part was we got an email the day before saying excursions were opening up on the same Weds it was cancel.
-
Just told our Malta Western Med cruise for Sept 5th was cancel due to some issues they wouldn't really say what but looks like it was because of Italy not Malta.

Just was notify from Viking our Sept 5th Malta / Western Mediterranean cruise was cancel. The 3 others that was scheduled were cancelled as well. Due to some issues with Italy but couldn't tell me anymore.

A tip for those booking the specialty restaurants - If you already had a reservation for that night at The Restaurant, you need to delete that first. You will then see other times at the specialty restaurants besides 9pm.
I had this issue after they deleted 2 nights I was good to go.

I can never quite understand this fixation in looking at prices after booking to see if the price falls. If I buy something or book anything, I am happy at the price I am paying. What is the point of keep looking to see if the price has reduced (or risen). Surely, if you were happy to book at the price quoted, you must have been able to afford the cruise. Is this an American idea to keep checking on prices?
Great! I have a room for you $20,000 and it yours.

Is there a door or curtain between master bedroom and living room?

maybe they did away with the book...it was just the same info that is on your cruise documents, basic info and FAQ's. It was basically a waste of paper anyway!! You can read all the info from the website or your downloaded cruise papers. The luggage tags were the most important part of that book. Enjoy your cruise! You will love this suite!!!
Makes sense! Thanks!

Tips are subjective, there is no right answer, everyone approaches it differently. We gave our butler around $25 per day for the 3 of us and steward an extra $100 on top of the DSC, along with a thank you card and a box of chocolates for each of them. We also tipped the concierge, Haven Restaurant maître D, a few Haven waitresses and our Haven bartender. Whether anyone considers that too much or too little, no flaming please. Each individual can make their own assessment as to their tip amount!
As a suite passenger, NCL will send you a book with your luggage tags and a letter from the concierge department (around 60 days prior to your cruise). They will give you a telephone number to call. They also contact you through email if you have given them your email address as a contact. You will be able to choose your preferences and make reservations at the 55 day mark. This gives you an extra 10 day jump ahead of the standard passenger dinner reservation options. We also stayed in an SF on the Gem, and we received the letter from the pre-concierge dept., I'm surprised this wasn't the case for your last suite cruises.
did you book your cruise thru NCL or different agency, im concern because i dont know if i will be getting a luggage tags and letter from the concierge department as you said i will be able to choose preferences and reservation earlier (i booked my cruise thru BJ's Cruise and they didn't mention anything about sending those stuff)
We're in this same room in May we got our luggage tags and letter today but no book?

You are free to cancel your cruise in it's entirety and cruise with a different line or take a completely different type of vacation if you don't like the way NCL runs THEIR business.
Good idea, just did, thanks!

How did NCL not "keep their part of the deal" as you said?
They offered you a promotion of $300 OBC if you booked a suite 9 months out. You did and received $300 OBC. They absolutely kept their part of the deal.
Let's say I buy an item at a store, then 9 months later this same item is on sale, should I expect to receive the difference in price? I don't think so...
They took back the $300 OBC that is how they did not keep their part of the deal.
-
The way you got the discount was to cancel the original cruise and rebook the same room at a new price. Had you not changed your reservation, you would still have the $300 OBC. If it's "not the money", how is it about doing what's right? Surely you don't think you should get the $300 OBC and the new lower price?
That is NCL's little trick, they cancel the reservation or "tell you" they had to cancel the reservation but in truth they don't actually cancel it because if they did a NEW booking number would appear since as they say is a NEW reservation. So they tell you they have to cancel the reservation to give you the lower price but in truth they do not. However this is how they get back the OBC money they promise you for booking early. So go back and read what NCL says:
"Book a suite on any 5-night or longer NCL sailing that is at least 9 months or greater prior to sailing date and receive $300 in onboard credit."
So by me booking 9 months in advance NCL promises to hand me $300 as my reward for advance booking.
The fact is NCL saying they have to cancel the reservation is a lie when you are staying in the same room. You only need to cancel if you're actually making a room/level change.
Again NCL choose to lower the price of my room so to answer your question in this case, yes I should get the $300 OBC and the new lower price. No different if I booked a hotel room and they lowered the price, which has happen, and I received the lower price. It's only good business which NCL doesn't get.
-
You had the suite $300 OBC for booking 9 months in advance? You then cancelled that cruise when you noticed the price drop and booked a suite with less than 9 months but got a price reduction. It's all about choices. How would you think you could get the 9 month advance booking if you did it less than 9 months in advance?
Almost always the $300 OBC cannot be combined.
I did not cancelled, I have the same room the same booking number. Just the price of the room dropped by $285. NCL says if you book 9 or more months ahead your reward for them to hold your money is $300 OBC. They choose to lower the price of the room not me. I kept my part of the deal by booking a year ahead they did not keep their part of the deal. It's just a big game that they learned to play very well. I'm only down $15 so it's not the money with me it's about doing what's right it's how you build loyalty.
-
I had a $300 OBC before I made my final payment my room went down $285 it was an S6 aft penthouse. I took the savings but they took away my $300 OBC so now I'm $15 in the hole and NCL refuses to do anything. So my first and last cruise on NCL. Will go back to RCL.

How do you get these free cruise offers?
Nothing is free, they just gave the casino's enough money and then some overtime to pay for the cruise. :)

75 - 56 days Deposit

Do candy cigarettes count? :)

Don't forget those 2-way Family Radios. I've found they work pretty well on the ship and when you go ashore you can use them there as well.

Quick question was there any kind of closet or draws in the living room? Or does the 3rd person have to share the closets in the bedroom?
Thanks!
Perfect! Thanks this makes it that much better!

Thanks for the pics! We had a mini suite but I broke down to get an aft penthouse and after these pics choose 11908 for May. I was told the room is 419 sq ft and the deck is another 292 sq ft
Even though this room doesn't have the window in the bathroom I rather have it in the bedroom.
