  1. Ohhh, D'oh I just "got" the name..."late December back in 63, what a very special time for me, what a lady what a night"...I would LOVE a Franki Valli type group on a cruise. One of the best shows from our Canada cruise last year was a Billy Joel guy.

Isn't the line late September back in 63? I'd liked a for seasons group to sing Sherry to me as my name is Sheri.

  2. this post prompted me to look at my future bookings. Glad I did!

I signed on to check our May British Isles cruise booking and found that my invoice is now $322 MORE than it is suppose to be. I checked last week and everything was normal. :(

Our booking was made back in February 2015. At a later date, we got a rate reduction for the Spring Fling promo of $300 off. It looks to me as if the $300 has been added back on to the cost of the cruise.

Also, the gratuities have gone from $300 to $322. Although the gratuities (in addition to the Beverage Package and a $300 OBC) are included in the booking, the extra $22 is not being covered.

To add insult to injury, an extra $300 OBC given for the Spring Fling promo has disappeared from the booking completely. Oh, and the rate for my AQ2 has dropped from $3649 to $2849 pp in the past few weeks. I was on another Celebrity cruise when I was alerted to this drop. I went to the Future Cruise Sales office and they told me that they could not touch the booking because it was made directly with Celebrity. By the time I got home, the rate was in a GTY status with only one stateroom left. We actually needed two staterooms as we made the original booking for both us and my brother & wife. Then the stateroom category sold out the next day. So, in short, we could not get a reduction.

I do have electronic copies of the original and the Spring Fling booking invoices. This is going to be complicated trying to explain this to a Celebrity rep and to get this resolved.

A funny side note...We also wanted to cancel or transfer another booking while we were onboard last month. The booking was made onboard another ship ... also last February. Again, we were told..."we can't touch that booking because it was made while on board a ship." What?

Sorry that this does not help your question. ;)

The extra $ have to do with the initial deposit and will "fall off" once final payment is made. Had the same thing for our upcoming cruise. I'd make a rounded number payment & $325 kept showing up online but not on my invoices. Celebrity rep explained it to me and the charge dropped off after final payment.

  3. Please see this flyer:

This should change the discussion off of dress codes for a bit.

The above link was posted by a friend who is a TA based in the UK.

In addition to Sky Suites getting Michael's Club access, "Signature Suites" which presumably include upper level suites include:

    - Two bottles of wine or spirits (your choice)

    - A bottle of Perrier Jouet champagne

The other listed items do not seem to be new, except it looks like Bulgari is back.

    Happy sailing,

    Jenna

    I hope Bulgari is back...

  4. CC host Rossy Anguelova

    Lounge Andrea Lisa Quartet

    House band Take Five

    Duo Tea for Two

    Guitar Victor Cruz

    DJ Flow and DJ Gio

We had DJ Gio last year and he was pretty good.

Never heard of the others. Has anyone experienced them? Opinions?

Rossi is a great CC host. Which ship was this on? Equinox?

  5. Shipmate for celebrity is the app. You register, give your ship and sail date There is a roll call list of others in your roll call. You can chat before or while at sea with others on your sail date. There's a nice countdown clock until you sail to.also there is info on shore excursions and maps to see where your ship is at right now.

  6. Are they still selling bulgari products in the perfume shop? I wonder if it is a request we should make to the Michael's Concierge when they notify us prior to boarding.

It would be a pain to do that, and I agree that the regular stuff is not 'modern luxury' or suite worthy, but worth a try.

I will also comment on my comment card / email also after our New Years cruises on Silhouette. X should bring this back just as the chocolates came back.

  7. I think some people think the crew gets paid amply. I am still shocked by a woman who told me that she ate at the buffet every night because she didn't pay tips! Who did she think served at the buffet?

We pay gratuities up front on every cruise, and then it is done with. We give more at the end as others have said, for great service. These people on cruise ships work hard far away from their families and pay a huge personal price for their jobs.

I agree that Celebrity should just make it part of the cruise fare and document it as such.

    I agree.

It's as simple as being appreciated. I'm a teacher and just yesterday I had a student come up to me at a restaurant and say hello, gave me a hug and he graduated from the elementary school 10 years ago and remembered me. I work for these kinds of tips. Crew on cruise ships want appreciation in the form of cash!

Leave the grats on and tip well for great service!
