  1. Usually there are a few in the card room, S class deck 9. Check them though for correct number of tiles. If there aren't any in the card room ask the front desk. They have new sets and you can check a set out for the whole cruise. I usually bring a color copy of current years card and leave it in the set we borrow for the next person.

When is your cruise? Mom and I need 2 more players!

  2. We have traveled on both M and S class in RS and love it! The space, extra bathroom, suite perks, etc. you can ask your butler to arrange a party in your room and decorate for your wife. We did that for my Mom a few summers ago...lovely. party in the suite with cruise critic friends! A blast! I would upgrade, but then we cruise once a year and save for the splurge! Enjoy!

  3. I thought about if I should write this post but there have been lots of questions recently on if travelling in a high end suite is worth the money...so I thought some of you may be interested in how being in a suite changes this aspect of cruising.

One of the best things about the suite perks is how pleasant boarding is. We get to the port as it is time to leave the hotel....on all three cruises since the Suite Life started and in three different ports we have then had the same greeting.

No queue for security or check in. As our documents are checked a staff member will approach us, present me with a red rose, my husband with a blue documents wallet and then escort us on board. As we board we are then handed to another staff member who will take us down to Michael's to meet the conceirge and that key member of staff the Michael's waiter.

We will relax, have our first drink and some really yummy little nibbles and begin to chat with fellow passengers. On our last cruise Luminae was open so we did have lunch there. Our rooms are always ready quickly and the suite cases usually arrive before we do. My unpacking takes minutes as although we tend to have a lot of luggage I am a really strategic packer with items for each draw being packed in separate bags, and hang up clothes already being on lightweight hangers! Whilst this is going on the butler and room attendant will have popped in to say hello, discussed bar and minibar requests, evening snacks.....

After muster it depends on sailaway time what we do. In recent years some of our older family members have loved to watch our saiaways on the live port cam. So we bring our English flag out onto the balcony, and our bottle of champagne and toast our loved ones at home, knowing they also have a drink in hand to wish us happy cruising! By bed time if we check emails we will usually have been posted a picture of ourselves leaving port.

First night for us is usually Tuscan although last cruise we dined in Luminae as it was its official opening night. We will return to Tuscan again next cruise as seeing the wake of the ship tailing away into the distance really makes me feel I am on holiday!

Great idea for a post. Eight months until next cruise, is there a name for when you feel homesick for a cruise?

I feel the same way.... We Enjoy the pampering and Suite Life! And I'm always secretly wishing I were cruising. We need a name for it. [emoji1]

  4. My DH and I go back and forth over the temperature. In the room, I like cold, he likes warm. I love the duvets, but do have to have my feet out to regulate temp. I find the bedding great and the beds in the RS are amazing! I want one for home too!

  5. Here's a few I've learned to bring:

-An air freshener gel pouch that insets into a holder that sticks on the wall in the shower - to avoid the drain mildew smell that sometimes happens.

    - magnets for notes etc

    - extra outlet plug that adds outlets and USB capability

    - extra batteries

-small keychain flashlight for reading menus in dark places

    - snap together valet tray for dresser top for small items at night like my watch, earrings, casino chips not cashed in. DH has one too for emptying out his pockets at night.

    - thank you notes for writing to crew who give good service & for tips

    - calling cards with our names and email for new friends we meet

    - if traveling during the holidays I have a cute holiday bell door decoration that I can put on cabin door.

    - command strips for decoration I want to hang for holidays, birthdays etc.

    - ziplock bags for wet stuff and last night of cruise items.

-light colored scarf to put inside dark safe so I can see stuff - don't forget to look under pad in the safe too. DH left a credit card under there and I found it our last night.

    - I bring a little trinket from that says Chicago or our Butler, attendant or special staff we meet.- nice little give away in addition to tips. Keychain, magnet, deck of cards.

  6. Try a Belkin adapter. You can find them at Amazon.com. There are 3 U.S. Outlets and 2 USB outlets in one unit that fits into 1 outlet. Very good for charging multiple ite,s at once.

    Items... Darn auto correct!
