Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks to all for your replies! I will call my planner at Princess.
  2. We are booked on the Royal 4/6/24 Sydney to Tokyo. Yesterday I noticed it is now listed as Currently Unavailable. Any thoughts on what this might mean?

    COVID FCC

My husband tested positive and was quarantined during our 14 day Med cruise in May. We just received the FCC about 10 days ago and only after many phone calls. I filed a claim with AON Affinity on May 29. Many phone calls later our claim has still not been processed. We cannot request reimbursement from Princess for any remaining expenses until AON settles our claim, I do understand that point. However I am thinking we have a long way to go before this is resolved. We understood the risks of traveling internationally at that time and we were willing and able to manage quarantine and a delay to the US. We just hoped for a quicker resolution. Just for clarification, my husband was released from quarantine the day before our cruise ended,. However we could not enter the US until he was 11 days from his positive test. This meant we had to arrange and pay for our changed flights and expenses in Barcelona. Things may be handled differently for those that have not completed quarantine before leaving the ship. My suggestion is stay on top of the FCC and any insurance claim as I am sure both Princess and AON are swamped at this point. Teri
  4. Thanks for the responses! Contacted Princess and they will cover costs. As I mentioned we also have travel insurance, so we will likely be fine. My concern now is that I continue to test negative in order to fly! Dockman, Wow I wish we could have flown home today. I uploaded his documents on the Airlines App and we were denied. As for arguing, I might be tempted, but our Daughter is a flight Attendant for the same airline and we often fly on her benefits 😳 Just relieved it looks as if we will be reimbursed. Thanks again. Teri
  5. Just a quick update. My husband was released from Quarantine on Thursday. He received a letter of recovery from Princess. I was offered a test on Friday as we were flying home immediately after disembarking. I am negative. We were under the impression that we were fit to fly. When we uploaded our documents to the airline we were informed you cannot fly even with a letter until the 11th day after a positive test. We spent our sea day scrambling to switch flights and find accommodations. We are in limbo between being sent to quarantine and being able to go home. We have been unable to get definitive answers on the ship about what is covered. I will of course call Princess administration as soon as they open today. Rebooking flights and hotels is expensive at the last minute. I am hopeful that between cruise with confidence and our travel insurance we will be covered. I would be grateful to anyone that might be able to share their experiences with me. Teri
  6. Masking in elevators is recommended, as well as other places onboard. I consider it a good choice for myself and a courtesy to others. My husband was and is asymptomatic. This does not mean he cannot spread it to someone that will not fare as well as he has. I was asked about experience on the Regal. I am not here to debate. Teri
  7. We were told that if we had a flight to the US same day we leave the ship, they will test us the day before we leave the ship. Of course things are changing all the time. That is the policy today on the Regal. Teri (tsj)
  8. Ken , we booked our 14 day cruise as 1 cruise But Princess treated it as a B2B and tested us mid cruise. My husband is still asymptomatic and still in Quarantine. He will be tested tomorrow, hoping he is negative🤞 I tested negative and have been tested twice since last Friday and am still negative. We have had four vaccines and do mask onboard and on transportation and still he caught it, very contagious virus. Many folks onboard are not wearing masks.. I wonder how many will be positive during testing at the end of this cruise. Wishing safe travels to all. Teri (tsj)
  9. Ken, We booked it as a 14 day cruise but many people were on for only 7 days. We boarded on Saturday in Rome, on the following Friday we had a mandatory test. I was wondering if we might have to leave the ship on Saturday in Athens. I asked my husband what he preferred, he said he thought it would be simpler to stay aboard to Barcelona . I do not know what the response would have been if we preferred to get off in Athens. There were many passengers that ended their cruise in Athens so perhaps we could have left the ship there, I don’t know what the Greek authorities would permit. Honestly I’m not sure what our best option would have been. I am cleared to go to port, to go to dining rooms etc I have no restrictions. I do not feel comfortable at this point doing a lot of those things. I might feel differently after my next test tomorrow if I continue to test negative. As I’m sure you know this travel is very complicated and the guidelines and rules are constantly changing. Teri
  10. Currently on the Regal for 14 days. We were tested mid cruise and my husband was positive but asymptomatic. He is in quarantine they will test him six days after the positive test. So best case scenario he is in Quarantine for a week. Disappointing but necessary. They will retest me on day three and day five. Hoping I stay negative so we can fly home from Barcelona. The most important thing to me is that he remains asymptomatic and that others are not infected! As I said it is disappointing but this is the risk we took and we will do our best to take it in stride.
