My kids tried to just use the cup, they asked for their room keys. This was last year though.

We would like the usual; crab, mussels , raw oysters... It doesn't matter where as we can grab a cab or uber it. Just looking for good quality at reasonable price

I'm not certain about no middle name however my daughters middle name is spelled stone on passport/drivers lisc versus birth certificate( that is actually spelled wrong also, since my husband changed it while I was napping after delivery!). We have no problem cruising or flying.

Yes!!! Start " practicing" now. Go to lunch and dinner. Hit a bar by yourself or an art opening, wine tasting. Go, travel see the world because when you become 2 it's twice as expensive😝

We sail end of May so many kids are still in school( mine skip the last day😱) so not many kids, compared to end of June or July. Add that with cooler weather = less by pool, however there always seemed to be people/ kids in hot tubs, but it wasn't packed like sardines. And to be honest that slide on the Jewel was kinda lame, sorta slow.

I'm in your age age range but married. We sailed the jewel last year, fell in love and will be sailing the Pearl next week. We found people to be friendly, for the most part( we actually blocked an elevator to help an elderly women get on that was on a scooter, my daughters may be petite but they play basketball like they are 7 ft) we shared tables at the buffet a few times when people asked( I guess we look friendly....or nearly finished, lol) casino was busy with people always striking up converstation. We also had fun in the bars( more mixed ages). I love the size of the ship it doesn't feel crowded.

We like Cagney, le bistro and moderno on the Jewel last year. I don't think you can wrong with any of those.

8 and 10 are great ages to play board games. We bring dominoes, dice and cards. I wouldn't count on the ship having full sets. Uno, skip Bo and travel Yahtzee. Your kids playing in an open area would prob attract others boys the same age to join them. Fingers crossed for y'all for plenty of room in splash academy!!

How old are your boys?

We booked with baranof in Ketchikan. We book a private one since there are 4 of us and it's just a bit more. We didn't want it share rods

We are on the Pearl's next sailing, what did you do in Victoria? I'm finding it hard to plan anything there do to the late time.
-
Dang sorry about your service at the bars. But I do have to ask why are you complaining about the port and port times. You knew about those ahead of time, so why did you book a cruise knowing full well the ports and time at ports were not up to your standards?
-
The snacks were bad? What kind of snacks are served? And you said the movies were bad, do you mean not age appropriate? We have been thinking about a cruise on that line.

Pieshops said it all!!! Run! :)

I'm a bit confused about booking concierge. We book the Haven and have a Concierge and I think all suites , regardless of Haven or not, get it. We mainly used him to get off the ship quickly at ports. We had asked for certain reservations but he was unable to do it. But I think different ships at different sailings have different experiences. Maybe be a bit more specific to which ship and time of year and you will have more help.

We sailed last year on NCl and are doing so this year. Our girls were 16,12 last year. We had a blast! This is what we did
Juneau- whale watch with Harv and marv(private tour) - this year we see mendenhall glacier and shop in town
Skagway- shopped and helicopter/glacier walk with temsco, this year we will do wilderness explorer
Ketchikan- private fishing with barnoff and the same this year( we like to fish).
Victoria- we just walked downtown, everyone wished we would have had tea at the empress, but I have girls that sometimes remember they are young ladies, lol.
I ruled out the train ride because I knew my kids, er,uhm, all of us would not be that thrilled with being closed up and packed in with that many people.
We saw lots of eagles fishing
And at the dock in Ketchikan.

What cruise are you on, this year? In case you forgot we were your table mates at the captain table last year on the Jewel.
-
With southwest or any airline clear your cache then check prices. I will often call saying im having issues with the site. I hope it helps you get a better price.
-
Wow that's a crappy thing to happen! I do hope you don't make the cruisers in those cabins miserable though. Your TA did you wrong and could possibly be lying about the offers she made to those other cruisers, and never even contacted them!
-
Hmmm maybe that was the problem with some of the spotty reviews, they were expecting Olive Garden. I'm glad you kinda cleared that up as I think my family would enjoy the atmosphere there and they like all Italian food!
-
So if the powers that be decided that passengers have to leave ship, do they send another ship or fly them home. And if it's fly them is it a problem for those without a passport and only a birth certificate?
-
Bring a zip lock. Sometimes we didn't want the snack right away but wanted it for late evening. The crackers and sandwhiches got a bit stale not being sealed up in the fridge.
-
We had no problem with cell service off the ship. Our phones stay off while on the ship. The way we figured it, if someone needed to contact us it could wait until the next day when we got to land. There would be nothing we could do for anyone out at sea.

We will be on her in 12 days!! My kids can't wait. We all enjoyed the Jewel so much last year. Alaska is simply amazing!

I didn't realize RCI has only one dining room!! Are there not other restaurants, besides the Buffett?
