  1. Look at the port times. There really isn't that much time to enjoy the ship. I would go least expensive. Your children will be OK, tire them out with hikes on land. Our kids are very active/athletic but fell in love with Alaska, for its beauty and awesomeness. What cruise line do you want to go on? You are paying for it!

  2. I have never used this before, heck I don't even think the town I live in has taxis. I have used taxis before in larger cities, I usually paid with cash. I have downloaded the uber app but haven't put in my credit card info. We will need to use this or a taxi in Seattle. So could an experience uber user walk me through this process.

  3. I have a long tunic/ with a hoodie that I wear. I could actually wear leggings with it, an toodle around town. It comes mid thighsih, so im ok in elevator or halls with bathing suit underneath and towel in hand. You might try looking out of the box and much larger sizing, for a cover up. I also have a maxi dress, a sundress, a long button down and a short strapless dress, for pool cover- ups. We have a pool but I feel different company requires a different coverage, lol. AND I LIKE CLOTHES. Be comfortable in what ever you choose.

  4. We did our first cruise last year and I was freaking out over same things, my kids were 12 and 16, though. I went with NCL 2 bedroom haven suite. We had plenty of room to relax and we used our cabin a lot, to get away from people. The haven has less people and the butler service spoiled us( which was what I was hoping for my husband, to sail again). Oldest loved the teen club, youngest didn't go back. That was ok, she had books and we like to play cards and dominoes. I started giving everyone bonimine(sp) 3 days before. It was the first time a flight didn't make me woozie!! NCL does not sit you wit other families, unless you request it. So I suggest research the cruise line and the cabins/ suites. This is our vacation, time to relax, reconnect with each other and family time, from our crazy schedules. We did some shows, some games but more often than not we hung out on the balcony.

  5. We sailed the jewel last year may 31(I think). The kids club was kinda odd. My 12 year old didn't like it, she was the oldest, but it would have been perfect had she been 10. My 16 had fun but her and 2 CC members kids hung out a lot. We sailed when many schools were still holding classes so that affects the number of kids. We did that on purpose, lol. As my girls are very close and have no problem be each other's companion. They kids seemed to be having fun when ever we ran into them on the ship. Scavenger hunts and such.

  6. I got a response from TP and no kids during happy hour since they only serve in the bar. Thank you for that heads up. I would have never thought it a problem. So we are planning lunch there. Now to figure out dinner.

  7. Toulouse petit is on our radar! I want to do the happy hour there, though. We may wind up doing lunch but thn I'll need a dinner recommendation in the area or abouts. We get in around 11 on Friday. The plan is check in then lunch, hit space needle and emp, maybe another museum, if time allows. Then dinner. Sat is pike market, then the lockes( agosy cruise?) Seattle under ground tour sounds fun too. Last year we did savour Seattle chocolate tour and loved it. I appreciate any input. It myself, husband and 2 girls ,17, 13.

  8. Er, uhm, then there are people like me, it was was stuffy , very stuffy. At one point I had to sort elbow my way out the doors. They where blocking it for some reason and I had to have fresh air NOW. I think Alaska is my natural habitat.

  9. We used the upper deck last year for Alaska, it was deserted! We stayed up there for quit some time during the glacier part, it was us and 1 other. We would run down warm up and have a drink in cabin, then run back up. It is windy and cold, obviously no shelter from the elements, but it's alaska, bring extra camera batteries and memory disks.

  10. We were in 2 bedroom haven last year, 1 week later, though. We would fill out breakfast room service card on early port days. You can let the conceirge know when you want off the ship at ports, he will tell you the rest. Let your butler know about afternoon snacks, like won't need them that day or will want something hearty/light. Breakfast, last year, was in moderno. However you could sit in the Haven area, pool area, and order also. Enjoy!
