While we had a fabulous trip on the Grandeur a couple months ago, there were several aspects of the ship that were disappointing. Our cabin was terribly noisy in active seas and the self slamming pocket doors were the worst.

Finally now reading through this wonderful thread. @flossie009 your pictures and descriptions are just fabulous!

We are on the last day to decide between the ‘26 and ‘27 world cruises and we feel we are ready to stay with ‘26. We like the itinerary a little better and we have good friends joining us for one of the African legs. We wouldn’t have even considered ‘27 but the Splendor is our favorite ship. Is anyone else deciding between the two?

Our first experience on Quest was disappointing and we will be using our FCC’s in 2024. We will definitely give SB a fair second chance. I’ve been hoping that it will be a much better experience but this thread and the simultaneous thread on Solis has me thinking that might not happen. @alexandria you might want to try regent.

This is a question that we are wondering about as well. We are holding 2026 on the Mariner and 2 nights at a specialty over all those months seems lacking!

Ok, I admit that I’m a total food obsessed nerd but here’s proof that the Schwartz sandwich, medium cut, truly is the stuff. We were there in the summer of ‘22. It’s not that weird to save a picture of a perfect sandwich, is it?

Have a great cruise! I’m anxious to hear your impressions of the ship to see how it compares to ours. We live right up the street from you on Hutchinson island and we shop at your Sprouts. Maybe our paths have crossed?

This was a very serious problem on our recent Grandeur cruise. Chairs were held with books, caps, flip flops, and like items. The norm was that all loungers in the shaded areas were taken by 6am. All that was needed was an officer posted on each side of the pool deck from approx 5:00am to “remind” passengers that they were not permitted to leave their items unattended.

Know and love macarons 💜 but was hoping to find out about the shiny and plump pastries on the plate. The OP thinks it’s a black currant, yum!

I was also able to open it!! Gut reaction? I think I prefer 2026 but would love either. This luscious pastry makes me crave something sweet. Were they filled?

That’s very unfair of you and it absolutely is not “clearly deceptive advertising” as you just stated. You waited till the last minute to book this cruise so you need to accept the challenges that come with doing things that way. The shorex booking window for your cruise opened up 8 months ago with full availability on each and every selection.

Rumor is that the Splendor (our fave ship) is taking the WC.

We are so anxious to hear more about the ‘27 WC. Anything more that you remember about the itinerary would be much appreciated!! With the splendor taking over the WC, is the navigator the ship on the chopping block or could it be the mariner? I have no idea but it makes me wonder.

We are signed up for 2026 and I wonder if that’s the same as one of our special events? @crusin7 when you say it was hot, do you mean the weather was very warm or that the food was spicy? Still, it looks like you had a fabulous time.

@DaisyUK there are two completely separate methods to make a reservation at the specialty restaurants. The one method is to make an advance reservation out of the regular pool of tables. Having a top suite has no bearing on advance reservations and there’s no benefit to make an advance reservation. The second method is reserved for the grand, master, and regent suites to make a reservation on the day of dining out of that pool of tables. For the best choice of times, make your reservation through your butler early in the day. Its actually better not to make advance reservations because it mixes up the two pools of tables.

Could not agree more that the mushroom soup is one of Regent’s best dishes BUT absolutely love it that there is a rotation on the specialty restaurant’s menus. That’s something that we’ve thought for years would be a great idea. @crusin7 keep those fabulous pictures and your helpful comments coming!!
