  1. Spotty internet, hard to reply. Let’s just say Oceania is not for everyone. There are some issues, but I don’t think it’s as bad as what’s being made out. If you need to be entertained then Oceania is not for you. If you are ok with your own company then you’ll be fine. But it’s obvious the product is not what it was 5 years ago. BUT, the sameness of the daily activities is pretty much what it’s been for the past 15 years. If that is an issue then you would never have liked it. This is not Celebrity, Princess, Hal, Royal or NCL. It’s low key, yes the demographic skews older, but there is a mix. Things are getting better as the cruise progresses.
  2. I touched on a couple of points in the post I made, let me get back to you when I have a little more time to ponder just what it is. I also want to give the cruise a few more days to see how it goes. We’re only in the 4th day.
  3. There are certain things that are part of cruising, noise and vibration while docking are part of it. Not sure how you would get around it if you want to be on a ship.
  4. What was this thread about? Maybe the OP was mad because Oceania doesn’t have Red Stripe. They do have a couple of other bland beers. I'm currently on Regatta and I’m not surprised at this post. If this were my first Oceania cruise I’d also ask what the fuss has been about. Seems many of the main staff are new to Oceania and it’s not really the regular product. There are a few long timers aboard. (Workers, age of the guests is another matter). This is our CD’s first cruise as main CD. He does seem to be a nice young man. He’s also one of the singers. I could post a lot about this cruise but I hate to type with one finger on a phone. This is only the third day. We’ll see how it goes. But, I sure wouldn’t buy one of these beds, and I’ve always thought the beds are great. Makes me wonder if they’re not changing them out as often. I also hate to complain, so I’ll try not to.
  5. I really wouldn’t put any stock in what you read on the book of misinformation. It’s enough to make your head explode.
  6. Your questions would be better on their own thread instead of this live from thread.
  7. They don’t have both options. Deviation is $199 per person. Covers both directions I think but is the same if you are only using it on one direction.
  8. Was this an Oceania cruise?
  9. That’s interesting. For some people that subject had been a theme for awhile. It’s not new.
  10. We’ve always been able to get the Big O Martini on the Happy Hour 2-4-1. I’d hate to see that changed.
  11. Jan, do you know Robin or are you going to have to break a new one in?
  12. Did they mention who is taking over for him?
  13. I believe they are looking at the Sirena
  14. You might do a little more research on Oceania before you book this. On first glance I'm not sure it would be a good fit for your multigenerational trip.
  15. Pretty much this, and the door connecting Waves Grill & The Terrace
  16. Remind me not to stand downwind of you.
  17. As AK mentioned above, there are many people on this forum that claim exactly that.
  18. This would be best put on your Roll Call. I guess you're assuming anyone that needs to know will know what ship this is on.
  19. It does happen all the time with Travel Agents. As reported for people that have the right connections, or are staying in one of the top rooms can tend to make it happen.
  20. My experience has not been like others are saying here. I generally always try to get an early reservation, usually 6:30, we generally show up by 6:25 and are seated by 6:32 or so. I just don't see these long lines, or at best it's a 5 minute wait.
