  1. Nope. Carnival Corporation (US stock symbol CCL) is dual listed in the US and UK and is the parent company of all the Carnival Corporation brands. There is no US vs. UK parent company.
  2. This. Spirit class has one MDR but on 2 decks. One deck can be used for breakfast while the other is a meeting point for debarkation.
  3. Princess counts days and cruises, whichever gets you to the next level faster. Princess also gives double credit for cruises (not days) sailed single occupancy or in a full suite.
  4. The welcome cocktail party went away with the restart from COVID, and the number and generosity of the promotions also decreased. Between the packed casino, difficulty getting Drinks On Us due to understaffing, and cuts in the Premier benefits, it's no longer worth paying for a Premier cruise when I can get a free room and DOU on a regular sailing.
  5. The best thing to do is for you, your family, and friends booking others into their casino offer rooms to explain the terms of casino offers to the others before booking. The terms for casino offers clearly state "This offer is solely intended for the named VIFP Club® Member who qualifies for the stated promotion (which must be active at the time of booking). As such, the same VIFP Club® Member must sail to redeem this offer and any related offer benefits. No name changes allowed." "In the event of cancellation or no-show, any possible companion benefits will not be honored. Carnival’s standard cancellation penalties will apply to cancellations and no-shows and they will be assessed based on the prevailing cruise fare. A charge will be made in the event of a cancellation, or no-show."
  6. The 1As with portholes are smaller than regular interiors. Otherwise Carnival would furnish and sell them as PT cabins.
  7. The ironic part is they changed it from the past guest party to the P/D party because there were too many past guests (from Red VIFP and up) to have the party. Now they're letting P/D invite guests, so the party will get bigger again. Part of me thinks this may be planned obsolescence... let the party get too big and Carnival can play the "too many Platinum guests" card. Diamonds already have their own event, so they could get rid of the whole party and just throw Platinums a drink voucher instead.
  8. I don't remember them inviting a guest in a long time (maybe since it was the Past Guest Party and anyone at all could get in) but I haven't cruised on Carnival since October 2022. Will see what it says on Mardi Gras next week.
  9. Technically not their guests. But because Carnival employees are afraid of bad survey ratings or being mentioned by name, if you ask if you can bring a guest the answer is usually yes. And then bringing a guest turns into bringing 8 guests.
  10. However you get there, you should be aware they don't offer a tour of the factory. The primary tour they offer is of the visitor's center. https://www.bacardi.com/casa-bacardi/tickets/
  11. The online catalog/ordering has been messed up since this weekend's glitch, at least with all excursion, spa, and drink package options not showing.
  12. It doesn't really matter. It was obviously an error to charge only one day for the whole cruise, and Carnival has said they're not going to honor it.
  13. The casino loses the revenue from the person who got the offer not gambling.
  14. Nothing to stop you from booking that and selling it to someone else, but... As others have stated, if/when Carnival catches on that the whale didn't sail they have the right to charge the roommate the rack rate fare with single supplement and take away the casino perks. Theoretically they could catch it before sailaway and give you the chance to disembark, but I think that's pretty unlikely because (1) they have more important things to do to prepare for sailaway and (2) it's too late to sell the cabin to someone else, so they'd wind up losing revenue on an empty cabin that didn't get paid for.
  15. This isn't an absolute. Some casino offers only give DOU to the casino guest who received the offer (unless both received the offer and are in the same cabin). The terms and conditions of the casino offer will tell you how many people get DOU. People need to learn to read what is in front of them rather than posting to an online forum where they'll get answers that are potentially incorrect or are at least inapplicable to their situation.
  16. Now that you mention it, my chocolate melting cake did taste a little different last cruise🤔
  17. That makes no sense whatsoever. All other things equal (including grip strength of the claw and positioning of the bundle) a heavier bundle is more likely to prematurely fall from the claw.
  18. Carnival doesn't give shareholder credit on Premier, Elite, Ultra, etc. bookings. Before someone else chimes in that they got it, you may occasionally find someone who overlooked that and processed the shareholder credit anyway. Basically you make the choice between shareholder credit on a regular fare and free room and perks on a Premier, Elite, Ultra, etc. cruise.
  19. The purpose of the comped cruise is to incentivize you to do something you otherwise might not do. When you've previously committed to another cruise there's no benefit whatsoever for Carnival to refund that cruise and let you use your comped cruise instead. They do want your money, just on another sailing besides the one you already have booked.
  20. It depends on your specific offer. At most the first 2 passengers on the booking get free DOU, sometimes only the casino player who got the offer. No discount on Cheers. In fact if you do buy Cheers, those drinks count against the same 15 max alcoholic drinks per day from DOU (i.e., you don't get 30 drinks).
  21. Funny how people who make snarky comments wind up getting proven wrong.
  22. In reality they often keep running tenders past "last tender" time because one tender can't accommodate all the people that show up at the last minute. They'll keep running tenders until everyone in line has gotten on a tender, but I wouldn't count on there being tenders running past "last tender" time because not every sailing is the same, and apparently that last minute surge doesn't happen every sailing. I've been on some sailings where the tender departure at "last tender" tender time was in fact the last tender back to ship.
  23. It's not the age of the ship per se, but rather whether the ship has the newer units (with LED screens and digital buttons) where you insert your S&S card or the older units (with LCD screens and physical push buttons). The older units don't have the capability to manage a separate promotional bank that only lets you gamble with, and not cash out, your free play. They're not giving you free play in cash to be nice. They'd much rather force you to play it than give it to you in cash to potentially walk away with, but on the ships with the older units there's not that capability.
  24. Didn't Carnival make them free because the dining rooms weren't big enough to accommodate the whole ship (or at least everyone who didn't want to pay for specialty restaurants) for dinner? Not sure they can get away with not making the "not as nice" specialty restaurants free on at least a limited basis without completely overwhelming the MDR. Unless they can find enough people willing to pay $8 for dinner vs. a free meal in the MDR, they may have to stick with making the "not as nice" specialty restaurants free on at least a limited basis.
  25. Yep... it magically disappeared from the website with no mention from Carnival.
