  1. oh wow, that is crazy! I believe most of the wedding guests eat at the lido buffet (even though we're supposed to pay for it) no one really pays and no one really seems to care. So maybe if your guests eat at the lido buffet they can just have cake and punch at your reception. When I took of tour of the Breeze a few months ago, one of the wedding coordinators told me not to pay for the lido lunch option and just to tell my guests to take off their badges to go eat.

Others will probably disagree but I would feel justified in doing that. In my opinion what is Carnival spending the other 2 grand on? I could see charging for booze but the rest should definitely come included especially if you're paying for a cruise on top of that.

  2. Anyone creative when thinking of hashtags? Having a hard time thinking if any good ones!

My name is Erin, fiancé's name is Ben Krohn.

We are sailing out/getting married April 21st 2017 aboard the Carnival Victory from Miami.

    Anyone have any clever ideas!?

  3. Ladies, on your wedding invitations, did you list the ceremony start time or the time the guests need to be at the cruise port terminal?

I'm including a detailed card in my invitation package outlining the reason why we are requesting an early arrival, ID requirements, dress code, etc. Just wondering what time you put on your actual invitation. Thanks!

  4. We are getting married on the Carnival Freedom on 3/25/2017 out of Galveston (before the cruise leaves so guests can come, then we can kick them off and go honeymooning! :) ). Sent out the save the dates already. I'm liking the not having much to do. Haven't had much contact with my Wedding Coordinator though, going to call next week to get more info on what all I need to get accomplished for the big day!

Also! We ordered a custom bobblehead wedding cake topper! And I'm SOO excited for it!! (from http://www.allbobbleheads.com -- FYI, look for a groupon before ordering basically ANYTHING for your wedding.). May be more excited that there will be a version of my fiance that will always say yes!!

Doing a brooch bouquet from family heirloom and flea market brooch finds. I'm trying to do as much crafty stuff as I can (because I may or may not have about 5 boards on Pinterest dedicated to weddings). Have found a bunch of nautical themed ones. Our colors are navy and mint. :)

I'm super excited to finish the invitations next month and get them sent off (and show them off, they are going to be super cute!!).

I'm doing a brooch bouquet as well and our colors are navy and silver with a nautical theme!!!! Your STDS are super cute! Where did you order your invites from?

  5. Talked to our travel agent today and because we booked as a group we get to pick a gift for in each room for our guests (varies per trip). We decided to pick a $50 on board credit and a bottle of champagne and chocolates for each room. They'll be a great addition to the little welcome bags we're putting in each room and it didn't cost us anything extra! If you have a group traveling with you, definitely check into this.

Will you be charged for the delivery of the welcome bags to each cabin?

  6. At any point did you have more than the 50 who wanted to attend the wedding but not sail? How did you handle that situation?

We only sent RSVP with the non-sailing guests invites. We printed their names and ID number: with blank line and asked for name as on ID. This was also written in the info we provided. Still the groom side had to do a lot of calling and getting correct info, (we found a lot of people didn't read the info we provided!) We didn't bother with sending RSVP with sailing guests since our travel agent provided a list with everyone who was cruising. We were right at the 50 allowed non-sailing guests and did have some changes even after the list was submitted and final payment made and credited us the cancellations. I think we had 47 non-sailing.
  7. Carnival gives couples a max of 50 non sailing guests but my fiance and I have WAY MORE than 50 people who are wanting to attend the wedding but not sail ( mostly families with small children). I don't know how this information even got out to my extend family because I only told 3 older aunts that they didn't have to sail with us.

Have any of you run into this problem? How are you handling it?

I was thinking of just extending the non sailing option to only our nearest and dearest and inviting the rest of the family who does not wish to sail to the welcome dinner we are hosting the night before the cruise but I'm not sure if that's tacky or rude. Help!

  8. Thank you! This helps a lot.

As a cake decorator, I would suggest going with a 6 inch topper just in case because that is the most common. Even if it ends being an 8 inch, it will still look good.

  9. This is such a great topic! I have most of my songs pinned down but on the fence as to what order I should included them. Maybe you ladies can make some suggestions...

The wedding party will enter to: In Your Eyes (cover) by Sara Barielles

I will enter to: I Choose You by Sara Barielles

First Dance: A Song For You by Donny Hathaway

Dance with my mom: Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion

As for the recessional, reception entrance, and last dance I like the following songs I just don't know where each should be...

    Crazy in Love by Beyonce

For Once In My Life by Stevie Wonder

Got To Be Real by Cheryl Lynn

  10. Ordering a custom cake topper online and trying to figure out what size to get. Ill probably end up with a 3 or 4 tier cake by the size of my current guest list. Any help from you carnival brides would be very much appreciated...

What size cake topper did you go with or what was the size of your top tier of cake?
