  1. We are in a suite on the pearl for an upcoming cruise. I understand we cannot use the Haven if we are in a penthouse suite. We are not very concerned about that but we are looking for a way are in a suite on the pearl for an upcoming cruise. I understand we cannot use the Haven if we are in a penthouse suite. We are not very concerned about that but we are looking for a place where we will be able to sit outside and enjoy either the pool or just The view but also get some shade. Any suggestions as to an area?
  2. Meglet, thanks so much for a first-hand account! I want to be sure I understand you. You stayed in 10664? And the loungers could face the water? Because that is great news. You also said the balconies on nine and 10 are more narrow, but this cabin is on 10. Are you talking about the regular penthouse balconies? The problem with that video Lazcio posted is that even though it says, it’s a penthouse with a large balcony I’m pretty sure it’s not. Because that’s definitely a narrow balcony.
  3. We will be on the Norwegian Pearl for 10 days in September and we are booked in a category SM aft penthouse suite with large balcony. Cabin 10664. We have stayed in suites on Royal Caribbean and Princess and from the pictures I’m seeing I’m not overly impressed with the size of the suite. The bathroom looks very small for a high-end suite with only one sink. It doesn’t look like there’s actually a separate area in the suite for a living area. Maybe a curtain? Anyone have comments on the suite? I might consider a switch to the forward facing suites, which look larger to me, but we really love aft! My biggest concern is we spend a ton of time on the balcony. I saw a video that says it is our category of cabin, but the balcony looks so narrow that I’m wondering if it’s actually not the large balcony suite. Does anyone know if this category has a deep enough balcony to face to the water instead of having to turn them sideways? Overall, would you stay with this category or look for another option? I would be nervous about the wind on a Forward facing cabin.
  4. We are on the pearl for 10 days in Europe in September. We absolutely love the spa and it’s very important to us to have the thermal suite for our full 10 day cruise and each of us will probably have three spa treatments. We are staying in a suite And I think that gives us priority on spa treatments but I’m not sure that matters if it fills up. Right now there are no prices or availability offered on the app that far ahead. Does anyone know when they will open up the ability to reserve the thermal suite at spa treatments and how early should we do that?
  5. We are on the Norwegian pearl sailing out of Trieste September 6 of this year. We have the $50 discount for each excursion and we plan to do all of our excursions with Norwegian. That being said at some ports we only have one excursion we are interested in doing. So we’re a little concerned about the excursions filling up. We are staying in a full suite, and if I understand it right, that gives us priority but I don’t know exactly what that means if the excursion fills up. How early does Norwegian accept reservations for the excursions and how early do you recommend we book them?
  6. We have booked the pearl for 10 nights out of Trieste in September. We cruise a couple of times a year, mainly Royal Caribbean and Princess. We have not been on Norwegian since we did the epic about six years ago and this will be our first time in a suite on Norwegian. Maybe some of you can help us with some questions? We are in 10664 which is an aft penthouse suite with large balcony. Anyone stay in this room or in this class of cabin? What are your likes and dislikes? We absolutely love the aft suites on Princess that have a giant wraparound corner balcony. It’s hard for me to tell from pictures how large the balcony actually is on the pearl. is it deep enough to have our loungers facing the water or do you have to turn them sideways? I know the ship has a Haven and we were not really interested in that but since we’re in a suite is there a sundeck that is reserved somewhere for those and suites? If not, is there a good adults only place on a sundeck that actually has some shade? If I understand correctly, we can eat special suite only breakfast and lunch. So does that mean there is no special dinner for those in suites? We either eat at the regular dining or in a specialty restaurant? What shows are on the pearl? I’ve not been able to find that anywhere to this point. Finally, we love karaoke! Princess has a contest called voice of the ocean, which I had the privilege of winning, which is a lot of fun. How does karaoke work on the Norwegian pearl? thanx!
  7. Very helpful. I think we will keep the aft suite. I’d love to have the bigger balcony, but I just don’t think it’s worth the money or leaving that great aft. location.
  8. We are booked on the Norwegian Pearl in an aft penthouse suite with large balcony category. SM. I see that category H3 the Haven owner suite with large balcony is available. But it is about 40% higher than the price we paid. We love a large deep balcony, and we also love to be aft. My only problem is even the large balcony on the aft suite does not appear to be very deep. Trying to decide if it’s worth the splurge to go to the Haven. Thoughts?
  9. No. We were going to stay in Trieste because Venice was going to be a port, and now it is not. So, unless we stay in Venice, we will not see it at all! So we will be in Venice for one evening and then we need to get to the port by around three. The other changes are adding Rijeka and replacing split with Dubrovnik
  10. Anyone have opinions on whether the elimination of Venice as a port on the pearl and the resulting other port changes is a net gain or loss? Obviously, it would be a loss to miss Venice, but if we stay there overnight, we have more time than we would have had in a short excursion. I’m not familiar with the Croatian cities so I’m wondering about the replacement which is Rijeka, Croatia. And also Dubrovnik has been substituted for Split. Thoughts?
  11. Just saw the email. Trying to figure out how this will affect our trip. We are going to the Amalfi coast before the cruise and were going to fly straight to Trieste and just see Venice on the ship excursion. I guess we’ll have to change that around and stay in Venice the night before the cruise. Hard to imagine, cruising from that region and not seeing Venice!
  12. First time on Jewel class. Booked Cabin 10664, an Aft suite with large balcony. Questions: — It looks like there is no specific sundeck for those in a suite. Is there any place to sit out that has both shade and quiet? — I have really enjoyed the thermal suites but only if they have a large thalassotherapy pool. Does pearl have one? — Theres nothing more that I love on a cruise ship than karaoke! We have loved Royal Caribbean because they have it every night. Does the pearl have nightly karaoke? — it’s been a long time since we’ve sailed Norwegian. But the ten-day itinerary out of Trieste, with such unique and beautiful stops sold me. For those of you who have been on the pearl, how did you like it in general and has anyone done the specific itinerary and can give me comments and suggestions? Thanks!
  13. Hmm. Thanks. Well, this is our first time back on Royal Caribbean in six years so I guess I’m thinking about carnival and Princess. We love the ship though. I guess I’ll have to fight the Windjammer masses to get my burger. Life is hard, but somehow we will endure. 😂
  14. On Allure right now. Am I missing something or is there no place to get a free hamburger? I know you can order them from room service and maybe there’s a place to make them in the windjammer, but every ship I’ve ever been on there has been someplace by the pool to get a hamburger. Thanks!
  15. Thanx. We booked and are on deck 10. SM aft penthouse with large balcony
  16. We are about to book a 10 day European cruise on Norwegian Pearl for 2024. We have not done Norwegian in years. We will be in an Aft penthouse suite. What are the perks for this suite? Do they have a special place for dinner like Coastal Kitchen on RC? Also is there a sun deck that has shade that is adult only?
  17. I love milkshakes. Really really love them. And smoothies. Not the ones with spinach and kale. The ones with all bad things - ice cream, peanut butter, chocolate, etc. Where on Allure can u get such things? We have the beverage package. Does that get you Johnny Rocket milkshakes? Or other places? Also, we are in a suite. Will we be ok booking meals and shows when we board using the concierge? Shows seemed already booked on the app as well as prime meal times.
  18. Just got an offer to do an upgrade bid. In 20 cruises never had this happen. Is it worth it to bid minimum of 840 a person from crown loft to star loft on Allure? I estimate that we wud get enough free goodies, beverages, meals etc to make it about 300 a person actual cost. I’ve done a little research. Looks like it includes a dining table and a little more space. Anything else REALLY better in the cabin or is it just the perks I would pay for?
  19. — Where is My Time Dining on Allure? I don’t see it on the deck plan. — How does main dining compare in quality to coastal kitchen? Looking at the menus I’m pretty disappointed with coastal. We are staying in a suite, but I am considering eating more of our meals in main dining because there’s just more variety to choose from. — Since we are in a suite, can we just wait to book our massages at the spa when we get on the ship? The last cruise we took was on another cruise line and they were almost full when we got on board and we had trouble booking massages. — Does Royal Caribbean do a 10, 20, 30% off deal in the spa like other cruise lines if u book 3 treatments?
  20. We have not cruised with Royal Caribbean in about five years. We are three weeks away from our cruise and I’ve been trying to check in on the app. It gives me what looks to be a boarding pass, but says they have hit a snag and they will send me Health questions the day before the cruise. Is that normal? The other cruise lines we have used since Covid have not done this on their app. So you can’t fully check in until the day before the cruise? And the larger concern is they required that I make a health assessment appointment. We’re in a suite and we should already be on the ship by the time of this “appointment.” Surely Royal Caribbean is not still doing this kind of stuff . Can someone reassure me here?
  21. On Allure, where can you get the premium coffees? And on the Beverage menus on the app there are no frozen drinks that I can find. Surely you can get Pina Coladas, etc?
