  1. This cruise is presently listed as being on the Legend. We already booked the 18day Star Collector "Pilgrimage to the Parthenon, Pyramids & Petra" after having to cancel the similar trip that was offered this Oct.
  2. We spent some precruise time in Athens and through a tour company had a private driver take us on a day trip to Corinth. There were a few other interesting stops enroute. (sorry I don't have the details available) The same company arranged a private guide for the acropolis and the driver agreed to take us to the port the morning we departed. Price was reasonable. In Sorrento we used "Private Tours of Southern Italy" and a driver took 4 of us to Pompeii. There we were met by a private guide. After seeing Pompeii, we drove the coast and stopped at a lovely restaurant for lunch. Next he drove us to Positano where we had time to wander the town. We also spent some time in Sorrento when we got back before returning to the ship. We had a great time and the opportunity to see so much more than any of WS shore excursions. If you have the time in Barcelona, the monastery Montserrat is lovely. Everything else in Barcelona we did on our own.
  3. Thank you for your responses. WS has not posted the excursions for Israel as someone else pointed out. I am curious what they offer from those ports. Redtravel, if we decide to do this cruise I will check into Mickey and her driver. We frequently do private tours and have no problem with that. There are 2 full days in Haifa and one full day in Ashdod which it sounds like you had as well. Highlights for you?
  4. We are looking into the future (18mos out) at a WS cruise from Athens to Rome. The cruise includes ports in Egypt and Israel. We have been to Egypt so aren't really concerned about excursions in those ports. The Israel ports are what interest us the most and we wonder what type of excursions are offered and if the ports will be of interest. We won't be scheduling this for several months but thought I would reach out and see if any of you have an opinion.
