Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Hello, we had an early disembarkation on our last cruise (similar situation). Our TA contacted WS. She was told disembarking early had to be planned in advance and we needed to receive notification from WS that it was ok prior to the cruise. The TA took care of it, we received approval, and all went well.
  2. Glad to see you will be joining us. Looks like there aren't many cabins left on the March 31st leg of the trip (ending in Athens) I also see they raised the price on that itinerary. Glad we jumped on it when we did.
  3. We ended up canceling the cruise WS booked for us and decided not to book a future cruise to the Middle East. Our initial thoughts on the cruises offered on the Legend for the next 6 months were similar to most that have been expressed. However...after looking at them closer and giving it more thought, we did book a back to back at the end of March. (start in Barcelona and end in Athens) We have been to some of the ports but there is always so much to see and do that we haven't done. The price was great and we were able to book a balcony suite on deck 6 at the same price as the porthole suites. Any money we had given to WS for the canceled trip was transferred to this trip. Had we not rebooked our TA said we would have been fully refunded.
  4. I spoke to the WS rep and asked about the price match. He says he doesn't know if they will do it and needs to look into that. Because we booked through a travel agent he says she needs to call and make all arrangements (which I pretty much knew would be the case). I will let you know if I learn anything new. Seems weird to offer me a different itinerary when the same one is available in 2026. That said, trying to rebook so many people's cruises is a huge task not to mention that WS does not know what other plans people have. I think they should have asked people to find a similar cruise themselves within a certain time frame, matched the price and rescheduled them.
  5. Wondering how many of you have been rescheduled by WS from your canceled cruise to another next year. My husband was looking at "My WS" and saw that our canceled March 2024 cruise had been rescheduled by WS for March 2025. We have yet to be notified. The problems are that we already have a cruise scheduled in early May 2025 as well as the fact that this new cruise is not the same as the one that was canceled. Our original cruise was 20 days, Jeddah to Haifa and was a star collector. The one WS scheduled for us is back to back of Jeddah to Jordan then Jordan to Jeddah. In other words we get to see all ports twice. Obviously we will not accept that change. The exact cruise we were originally scheduled for is available as 2 cruises back to back in 2026. We will reschedule the 2026 cruise if WS agrees to match our original price which is more than $5,000. less! Anyway, we will let our travel agent deal with all this. Anyone else have similar experiences?
  6. We recently booked WS Jeddah to Haifa cruise but noticed there are no hotels listed and no transfers of any kind listed. I looked at other Middle East excursions with these 2 cities and find the same thing. Those of you who have done one of these cruises, can you tell me your experience with getting from the airport to the hotel or from the ship to the airport (Tel Aviv I assume). We were told by the excursion manager onboard our last cruise that we can always just call WS in advance and make arrangements for pick up at the airport. Has anyone done that?
  7. Did a pre cruise land tour in China several years ago. It was fantastic, so worth it!
  8. My husband bought ultra cheep ones from Amazon and was not happy with them. I spent a little more and purchased "Speedo" brand. Very happy with them. We wore our shoes several times on our Caribbean vacation.
  9. Our experience on the Pride this past October was pretty much the same as described by Barrycat. I felt there was a shortage of staff, but it was obvious there was also not quite enough room in the dining venues. Short of having our TA contact WS to see how full a specific cruise is, how can we find out how booked a specific cruise is?
  10. We ran into this same situation on a 25day cruise last Oct. Several people were continuing on and asked about excursions. They allowed us to sign up onboard for one of the transfer excursions listed but brought us back to the ship after dropping others off at the hotel. Don't know if this will be offered again. We intend to just wait and check when we are onboard.
  11. Egypt is amazing, I have been there twice. Both times we did a land tour rather than a cruise. My personal opinion is that you will see so much more on a land tour which almost always includes a Nile River cruise. If you choose to do the WS tour, then I guess you listen to the TA and wait it out at least for a few months. I assume you get your deposit back?
  12. We are 2 points away. Our travel agent has contacts she regularly works with at WS. Unfortunately she was not able to get them to budge on getting us moved up to the next level.
