Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. The Mongolian stir fry was once per week on our back to back. Not to be a downer but it wasn't that great. The sauce had no flavor and you don't get a lot of meat because they scoop for you. YMMV though.
  2. For those who were breathlessly hanging at the edge of their seats, my app spontaneously corrected itself to say Green Lane in both places. Three days till we're at sea!
  3. I have never had problems on the Caribbean Princess and I have been on her 3 times and leaving for a 4th this Saturday. I love the Promenade deck, and while it is smaller than some other ships I always feel they do crowd dispersal quite well. I never felt crowded in, except maybe when waiting to ender the MDR at peak times. I also love their Lido Deck pizza and the Sanctuary.
  4. Oh man, that happened to me in January. It was 65 degrees and pouring rain. We got off to see if it would clear up. It didn't, and I was covered with bites the rest of the trip.
  5. I know this is a first world complaint, but I really wish they had an egg option other than the sandwiches. A quiche or a plate with bacon and eggs. I realize I have lots of other on board options. But it would be nice!
  6. I find clamshells to be massive heat traps. They provide shade but no air flow. If it is in your budget I highly recommend the bungalows. Shade, air-conditioning, a quiet beach area... it usually ends up being my favorite day of the cruise. But I realize budgets and priorities do vary.
  7. It didn't show up for me until about two weeks out (ish... but not sooner.)
  8. I've never done Iceland, but I've been on the Caribbean Princess three times with a fourth coming up next week, and I have always loved it. I feel like the Crown Grill is always better than on the Royal Class ships. It is a smaller ship but I don't feel crowded and I feel like they do crowd dispersal very well. It doesn't have Alfredo's but Slice is better than the Lido pizza on the Royal ships. It's not a bells-and-whistles ship but we're low maintenance. We only had one technical problem in those trips, and that was AC trouble a few nights on one sailing. We propped our balcony door at night and got a great sea breeze, didn't even miss the AC. But if we had complained I'm sure it would have been handled or compensated one way or another. TLDR: I think the CB complaints are a bit overblown but everyone cruises differently and as different priorities. If you love the intinerary I wouldn't let the ship deter you.
  9. Thank you for all the responses! I'm not going to stress about it, but it is a head-scratcher.
  10. We cruise in 9 days (woohoo!) and all three of us say Arrival Status: "Green Lane" under the preboard checklist. But by the QR code it says "Proceed to Blue Lane" (of course in green text!). Has anyone else encountered this? I'm a little baffled. 😁
