My husband and I (close to 60 yo) sailed on the Allure in Oct 2018. We let a ship's photograph take a pic of us during dinner, and later in the sailing saw the printed pic at the Focus photo shop. We were surprised at how good we looked, seemed wrinkles were smooth, jaw lines tightened, blemish evened out. I honestly think the picture was edited by the ships photography services ! Do you think they ship's photo area edits pictures to increase sales ? And yes we bought the picture (actually free since Diamond).

Off Allure on 10/14. Chops was way too loud, and poor service. Gio was better, but honestly the MDR was the best. I am skipping the Dining Packages/Speciality dining in the future

We have booked 1868 on Adventure in the new cabins on deck 12. Interested in any feedback, opinions like noise level. traffic, view, location, effects of the sun deck above, what happened to the jogging track that I think used to been the area occupy by cabins, etc. thanks.

I uploaded our photos, but I sure don't remember the "white" background requirement (and I read fine print disclosures for a living). Maybe a plain background. But not white. Of course I may have missed it.

Seems like both paths, cruiser uploading photo or just waiting and letting the check in person take it at the pier, are available.

To mscinmia.....since you work port everglades and Allure, thought I would repost a question I had:
I am sailing on Allure 10/7 from Fort Lauderdale. My husband and I have expedited arrival. My 90 year old parents who are traveling with us, but under a SEPARATE reservation/cabin, do NOT have expedited arrival. My intention is to walk all four of us over to the Expedited Arrival area/person. If they can do both reservations via Expedited (including my parents), then great. If not, then my husband and I will get the Expedited, and then we will stand in line with parents in the check in regular line. If anyone sees a flaw with this plan.....chime in !
-
Oh yes, we are staying with them either way. Either all of us go thru Expedited, or after my husband and I are Expedited (while my parents side there beside us), then we all walk over to the regular line.

According the RCL app, the Vitality Cafe is open on embarkation day (10/7) at 11 am. Traveling with 90 year old parents, who eat light at lunch. Does the Cafe have little sandwich or wraps for lunch ? Or is it just a smoothie place? Also thought it would be less hectic for them than other places on the first day. Thoughts?

Water (prefer flavored from the Freestyle machine). 30+ years sober !!!!!

Does the Wipeout Cafe on the Allure have iced tea ?

RCCL announced 9/20 that free onboard chat is available on Allure of the Seas. The RCCL app for smartphones has an update effective 9/20. When updated, you will see a small chat ballon in the upper right corner of homepage (says beta). The smartphone no-fee onboard functionality is currently only on Allure. I am NOT a tech person, so I am sure others can chime in with the details.

Looking at the Armonia ship, Fantastica experience in October 2019 in the Caribbean. Confused about drink package/vouchers. I read that the 12 voucher per person for Fantastica will be ending in March 2019, but not clear what (if anything) will be replacing that drink feature. First time on MSC, so a bit confused. Thanks.

Sailing 10/7 on Allure. Both website and app are showing lots of shows of Oceanaire .... including 8 am and 11 am !!
Yes in the mornings (with evening shows too) ! Seem strange, is that the norm. Also on the app, for my cruise they are listing movies to the show: Solo (Star Wars), Last Jedi, Justice League, Tomb Raider, and others. Nice to see it in advance.
And what in the heck is a Black Light Puppet show in Adventure Theater ??? Just for kids? Sounds interesting though?

My tips is have nice sized breakfast on embarkation day. We have a a good breakfast, then board the ship and walk around, finalize speciality dinner, show reservations. Then at 1:00 (-ish) when the cabins are available, we head to the eating places as they clear out. We are staying at an Embassy Suites this time, so I am sure I after their breakfast buffet, I can hold out until 1.

Are video/phone recording of performance (like the shows Mamma Mia, Blue Planet, etc) allowed? I absolutely hate getting a seat and then person in front films the performance. The light from the phone screen is so bright it is distracting for those of us sitting nearby and especially behind. I read that no flash photography is allowed, but did not read about phone camera recordings.

On the Allure, they are doing Momma Mia on embarkation night at 8. Is the embarkation night show crowded ? We do have reservation for MM later in the week, but if we finish up dinner early on the first night, might try to do the non-reservation, walk in ten minutes prior, if not crowded. (And yes we would cancel the other MM reservation to free it up for others)

When in Curacao, does RCCL Freedom of the Seas dock at the Mega Dock or the dock in town (near pontoon bridge)?
I also posted this in the Destination board, but figure this would be faster.

From the OP: Glad I could provide (unintentional) entertainment with my post ! Happy sailing to all. Hope to ketchup with you all later.

My husband and I are "expedited arrival" on checkin info, my 90+ year old parents are not. I think we are just going to tag along with my parents in the 'regular' check in process. Don't feel comfortable leaving them to checkin by themselves.

At Costa Maya, A $38 excursion in the Port Pass includes: an enclosed snorkel area featuring unique fish species. I think the excursion is called port pass, Any insights into the snorkel area mentioned?

From the OP: Thanks for the response, and the correction to terms.

I realize this is a really obscure question, but on the Allure where is mustard station G04 ? I am traveling with 90+ year old parents, and just wondering where the G04 station is on the ship ? (Fingers crossed that is the AquaTheater which is close to their cabin)
ice buckets in cabins on Allure?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Was on Allure in Oct 2018. My parents in the next door cabin (same steward) asked and got their ice bucket filled twice a day. We had no use for it, and did not ask, and ours was not filled. all is good.
