  1. The decision is easy if cruises fail to sail, in that case NO ONE gets picked or denied. My kids recently flew on AA and were told middle seats were being blocked due to Covid. Low and behold the flight was packed , round trip, and this weekend airline comes out and states no longer blocking middle seats so I guess someone didnt get the message about a month ago. It will be interesting to see what cruise lines do as will be very difficult to turn away paying passengers, esp if I'm eenie, meenie, miney or MO !!
  2. CCL's credit rating cut to junk, money is going to get real tight with all the lines. Ratings agency Standard & Poor's on Tuesday downgraded bonds of Carnival Corp(CCL) to junk status, forecasting continued weak demand for the cruise industry hammered by the COVID-19 pandemic. As virus infections climbed, travel-linked stocks were sold off heavily, led by cruise liners. Carnival (CCL) slumped 11% after S&P slashed its credit rating down three notches to junk on concerns over an extended period of weak demand. Its peers Norwegian Cruise Line(NCLH) and Royal Caribbean Cruises(RCL) also shed over 11%.
  3. According to financial filings, Royal Caribbean had planned to shift one of its Royal Caribbean Interntional ships, the Grandeur of the Seas, to Pullmantur in the second quarter of 2021. Good question, maybe will rejoin RCI's fleet.
  4. ok,,thanks,,,will keep checking
  5. Is it just me or are cabin prices high for upcoming year(s). I dont know if its due to all the cancellations but pricing tiers seem to be double from past years. I suppose based on supply and demand but must be a lot of pent up demand. Happy cruising all,,,hope we can afford it .
  6. Yes,,sorry,,,preliminary report had some erroneous figures. But "cash burn" remains a significant issue. Carnival Swings to Quarterly Loss as Revenue Plummets Even as 2021 Cruise Bookings Improve MT NEWSWIRES 7:26 AM ET 6/18/2020 08:26 AM EDT, 06/18/2020 (MT Newswires) -- Carnival (CCL, CUK) swung to a sharper-than-expected second-quarter loss while revenue plunged as ships halted sailings because of the COVID-19 pandemic, though the cruise line said it's seeing bookings pick up for next year. The Miami-based company reported a preliminary adjusted net loss of $3.30 a share in the three months through May 31, steeper than the consensus on Capital IQ for a loss of $1.76 a share. A year earlier, the company made $0.66 in earnings per share. Revenue dropped to $700 million compared with $4.8 billion in the second quarter of 2019, while the Street was expecting $737.8 million
  7. CCL just posted 2nd quarter loss of $4.4 billion compared with profit of $451 million from same period last year. With a burn rate of $650M a month the question remains how much longer all cruise lines can continue to remain solvent. I'm sure cruising will resume some day but also sure not soon enough for cruise operators.
  8. Well...Norwegian just cancelled through September so wouldnt surprise me if Royal and Carnival follow suit.
  9. TY Island lady. Yes I will be in a GS on Symphony this November and have not previously sailed on Oasis class ships so I do appreciate your clarification. I have sailed on Celebrity with access to "Michaels Club" Retreat lounge and their policy is very similar.
  10. Well, call me stupid but still confused. I think there is bar service from 11am to 11pm but the happy hour , free drinks, sodas, etc is only from 4:30 to 8pm. If you want to purchase a drink or have beverage package you can do so outside happy hour specified times but doesn’t sound like you can grab a “coke” pro bono and walk out the door.
  11. I think trying to repatriate crew all over the world, but many crew are from Philippines. Here is rest of quote : "In a lawsuit filed in federal court in Miami Thursday, Ryan Maunes Maglana, a Filipino crew member on the Celebrity Millennium ship docked in San Diego, said he and his colleagues have been held against their will without pay for more than two months as the company has repeatedly delayed repatriation plans for them. On behalf of all Filipino crew members on Celebrity’s 14 ships, Maglana is asking the court to intervene with emergency relief.
  12. "Filipino crew members on Royal Caribbean Cruises'(RCL) Celebrity ships are asking a federal judge to order the company to send them home immediately." Looks like natives getting restless and what a logistic nightmare.
  13. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL) said it is targeting the middle of summer to resume sailings after they have been suspended since mid-March due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The cruise operator earlier said it expects to return to service on Aug. 1. On Thursday, it warned that a ban on cruising past the third quarter would hurt its current and forecasted liquidity levels, including its assumption that it has enough liquidity for the next 12 months. Only time will tell...
  14. Well she just sold stock on 4/19 at approx $36/per share. Doesnt instill a lot of confidence in regard to future of Celebrity.
  15. This may have something to do with price rise: (+) Royal Caribbean Cruises(RCL) rose nearly 30% after board members Eyal Ofer and Arne Alexander Wilhelmsen each purchased $100 million of a $2.2 billion loan, Reuters reported. Wilhelmsen is the cruise-liner company's largest individual shareholder with an 11% interest, according to the report.
