  1. glad John and ALL are a-okay... could have been a lot worse... hope they are on the mend... best wishes for a speedy recovery.. as you know got to be 'low key' in any of these places... no jewelry is what we adhere to.. and anyway, can't chase like I used to when I was 'working' against the bad guys in 'my other life'.. one must adapt-- so I do .. continue to enjoy your cruise-- stay safe.. stay well
  2. great pics as always.. continue to enjoy your cruise.. πŸ™‚
  3. seems strange-- that sounds like there is no Internet Manager onboard anymore-- Norman was setup way in the back of the Library in a separate 'open office' all the way to the back right .. it was behind where the Librarian used to sit at their desk.. he was also setup at the beginning of each of our back to backs at the Customer Service or Guest Relations desk outside to the left of the Front office... hoping again it lasts the ENTIRE WHOLE Cruise-- but they won't tell you that like they did with all of us.. if they tell you or others they have no idea what it is about they are fibbing.. 'it ' hit the fan on our 79 day cruise.. there was a nice lady passenger who got on before us in Alaska and is staying on all the way thru your World Cruise.. she was on the complaint line in the back of the Library with Norman the Internet Mgr at the beginning of the South Pacific segment on our cruise.. she was NOT happy when she found out she had to pay in full all over again-- wish I could remember her name but I can't.. Good Luck again..
  4. FYI... just got off the Amsterdam Dec 18 after back to backs 79 days.. Internet horrendous with the new system and setup.. if Internet Mgr Norman still onboard-- a waste of time..PLUS he runs to Henk and Henk backs him..although they are definitely WRONG... the people who signed up were NOT happy about the entire situation... be careful-- the HAL Navigator App says you can signup for the entire Voyage--HOWEVER they changed the rules midway and a Voyage became only 31 Days but still not changed in the Navigator app.. had to signup again at full price... NOT NICE.. I let him know .. as well as Seattle--- who did nothing.. hope they corrected it.. maybe for this World Voyage Good Luck have a GREAT World Voyage..
  5. they did make the same mistake on the Koningsdam last November stating 1500 days instead of 1400 days.. then it finally was corrected
  6. received just 1 notice so far.. have 7 cruises to Caribbean booked in Jan Feb Mar so more to come.. this might be the reason https://cruiseradio.net/major-change-coming-to-carnival-cruise-lines-half-moon-cay
  7. looks like the powers to be will again ruin a great thing... money rules.. as has been rumored for a while now and what we always used to say.. 'how long before they ruin HMC'... this will be it.... no more super nice pristine island... more and more since the Carnival ships have been stopping there they see the need to expand... and expand they will .. just a shame that a great place will be taken away from us HMC die hards.. been to the island over 40+ times since right after it opened starting in 1998 .. for us always a treat.. early mornings I can remember flyfishing the backwaters and lagoon for bonefish.. the tendering doesn't bother us at all.. always walk the entire west end of the island to the 'western point' getting off on the first tender.. have only had to bypass it 4x over all those years and it was always disappointing.. I guess this will go down as the same boondoggle as when HAL decided to take the pools out of the Veendam and Rotterdam expand the cabin #'s and ruin two good ships.. luckily they wised up and stopped.. we shall see... sad 😞 here's a few pics from HMC on our Rotterdam 42 day Atlantic Adventurer cruise from back in 2016 BTW we sailed the Atlantic Adventurer every year they ran it from 2011 thru 2017 .. 5x on the Maasdam.. 1x on the rotterdam.. 1x on the Veendam a walk to the West End on Half Moon Cay
  8. also onboard right now since May 11 out of Boston.. for 4 weeks.. until June 8.. 5th year we've done this cruise.. last year on the Veendam also added Bermuda.. leaving QC earlier than planned yesterday afternoon at 330pm so ship could clear the 2 bridges south of the city.. on Sports Deck as we made the pass under .. close.. officially from the ship's bridge it was 5 feet of clearance -- that happened to be the minimum clearance needed-- so it was on to Montreal.... to the temporary 'tent city' terminal about 2 miles north of the city as ship cannot clear the Montreal bridge to the new terminal.. a non-sunrise at 522am this morning.. mostly cloudy skies.. nice full moon setting in the west at about the same time.. btw-- we always say 'this is the lobster cruise'
  9. I too remember those same words on the old Westerdam that the Captains used to spew out back then .." HAL will never build bigger ships".. unfortunately they were wrong.. money factor won out
  10. just curious and thinking out loud .. for what reason if you had a TA already would anyone want to wait to transfer a booking made onboard rather than just give the info to the onboard CC.. we always book it and transfer it onboard at the same time
  11. looks like we'll be seeing a lot of QC on this upcoming 28 day cruise starting May 11 out of Boston.. we've done this cruise 5x over the past 6 years the same time of year---what we like to call the 'Lobster Cruise'-- had a couple of close calls with the bridges north of QC but always made it thru .. closest was less than a few meters in the center of the channel ( according to the Captain).. we happen to like QC a lot ..one must adapt.. have fun... enjoy and snap those pics any chance I get πŸ™‚ here's a few pics from My SmugMug albums of the Bridges north of QC as the Maasdam passed under them--May 2015 14 day roundtrip Boston cruise https://stakeout.smugmug.com/MaasdamCruiseBostonMay232015/Quebec-City-May-31 https://stakeout.smugmug.com/MaasdamCruiseBostonMay232015/Montreal-May-30
  12. thanx Copper.. appreciate it.. FYI.. just an update.. been retired 29 years this coming July from 'on the job' Suffolk County NY.. and never looked back.. 'my other life' πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
  13. that is CORRECT.. Tampa not Ft Lauderdale.. sorry about the mistake.. I guess I always have Ft Lauderdale on my mind when leaving south Florida
  14. Hi C... how about a month earlier on the Amsterdam Sept 30 2019 to Peru.. Capt and HD??.. we'll be doing back to backs 79 days along with the South Pacific Oct 28.. and thanx πŸ™‚
  15. FYI.. just about right behind you by about a day is the Rotterdam on its Transatlantic from Ft Lauderdale-- announced they are bypassing France and Belgium because of the bad storms and heading directly to Holland.. we were told by a couple we know onboard
