Looking to book a Deck 8 Obstructed View cabin on Meraviglia. I notice some of the cabins are actually between the lifeboats and have a better view. Any information on how to find these cabins?

I believe you were on Anthem with us last week too!
Ha!!! Yes, we were.

This is coming from 2 people who weren't sure they wanted a butler,
Thanks for the great advice. Somehow, I can't see myself with a butler. Probably the result of my background, growing up in a relatively poor family in NYC. I'd have to really think that one over.🙂

D+ will get you gold status on MSC. Very easy to do.
We are D+, and are trying MSC Meraviglia out of Brooklyn this October.
Those are the dates I'm considering as well. I see the status match requires an RCCL membership card. Would our last Sea Pass Card be accepted?
Can I assume the status match does not include the five free drinks or two days of free internet?

Royal's outrageous prices have led me to consider trying MSC. Prices are a lot more reasonable and sailing from Brooklyn is certainly more appealing to us than Bayonne. In addition, friends have highly recommended MSC for their entertainment and food.
I know MSC has a status match with RCCL. What exactly would it mean for a D+?
Any other helpful hints or suggestions for booking with MSC would be greatly appreciated.

Curious... what were the "minor inconveniences" that generated 35% in credits?

You have to ask yourself if the extra points are worth the additional cost.

Easiest place to do this is the casino.

Hmm... that will cost an extra $360 in parking fees,

Food is such a subjective subject that most comments are meaningless.
One person could comment "Delicious" and another "I didn't like the taste." There's no right or wrong answer. It's solely an individual judgment.

I only had this cabin because ONE TIME I decided to do a guarantee. Never again.
The problem is that the guarantee is now so much cheaper than the "pick your own cabin" choice. The danger, as you experienced, is getting a really crappy cabin.

I have read all of the reponses, and here is my input.
I once had 6310, the last cabin aft on that hallway. HORRIBLE. But YOUR cabin? No problem. I would book that in a heartbeat.
MM... thanks for the info. Just curious, why do you say 6310 was HORRIBLE?

All the way back is a fire door that accesses the library and stairs down into 270. We used that short cut a lot.
Can I assume opening the fire door doesn't set off any alarms?

We were recently in 6254 (guaranteed balcony) on Anthem’s October TA. We found that room to be quiet. Being rather close to Cafe 270 was nice for breakfast. Yes, the balcony views are obstructed on deck 6, but the room was very nicely apportioned and its location on the ship was perfect. We felt that it was a lucky draw for a guaranteed room. I hope you have the same positive experience we had.
Thank you so much for your comments. We leave on Friday so I'll post an update when we return.

@smokeybandit I thought so, I definitely will….it was our last night, and just didn’t check. I will in the future. Thanks.
Why ask here?
Call RCCL and ask. If you get an unfavorable response, call again. It seems to me you have a good case. Send them a picture of the shirt and a copy of the bill.

We're in an obstructed cabin on Anthem that is located in the same area of the ship as yours.
Some have complained of noise, especially at night, from the crew area below the cabin. Did you have any problems with noise?
Thanks!

check cheapo dads trip report, he was on odyssey but same area on similar ship, he loves questions.
Hmm.. little did I know I'd have to read through a dozen pages and some 300 posts to get to their cabin. Sorry, but I gave up. Thanks though!

The tipping on a cruise is a rip off and the cruise company keeps a portion of it.
So you are accusing RCCL, a major multi-national corporation of lying and theft? Do you have any proof that the tips are not going to the staff?

Did a balcony guarantee on Anthem and received a cabin (6292) on the port side. This cabin appears to be over kitchens for 270 and Jamie's. Anyone have any experience in these aft cabins on Deck 6?

The lunch menu is a much better deal as it includes the filet.

No real advantage for a junior suite except extra Crown & Anchor points.

I believe you are allowed to bring 12 cans of soda onboard. Would that be enough for you?

Is the cost a consideration? It would be to many of us.

We don't own smart phones but I am computer literate we have our set sail pass with an arrival time of 10:00AM
RCCL is doing 10AM arrival times? Really?

On the surface, this appears to be a break even game. All the quarters put in will eventually fall out. Right?
Not so. What I observed was a significant number of quarters falling off the sides of the visible area before coming down to the payout area in the middle (I hope this makes sense).
Having said that, the game is fun and you may luck out and win a bill.
