  1. :)Thanks for your post..IMO a glass of wine or champagne is appropriate for a two hour power outage, but don't think any other compensation is called for..And as you stated HAL was trying to make up for it in the Lido, once power was restored..

    Cheers...:)Betty

Again...that was NOT offered to our four tables.

Also any decent hot food on Lido did not get there until after 11:00 pm.

  2. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Did the crew say what the problem was? Was there any compensation offered?

Also, I think I just validated my cruise related social media surveillance system! Can't believe how far in advance I found out about this!

What was the reasoning the person gave you when they asked you to remove the post?

BTW--I think there should be some compensation...the cost of a nice meal perhaps. They can NOT blame the weather.

  3. No power = no food, no lights, no toilets, etc.

We already missed Glacier Bay the day before.

We had a group of 20 on 4 tables together in MDR, they sat anytime dinners at one of our tables screwing up the entire group with the final arrivals not being able to dine.

Gifts (3 different) sent to members of group in cabin stated they were from an incorrect source. (all correct on paperwork...error had to be on ship)

    NOT a well run operation.

  4. Reminds me of a cruise I took 30+ years ago on Princess. I took a large Paddington Bear with me as my roomie. He was the hit of the ship-especially with the mostly English crew. The cabin attendant left him marmalade & cookies, something every night. Crew started to ask me to bring him around. Girls wanted to dance with him. The friend I was traveling with originally thought I was nuts, but admitted at the end of the cruise that it really worked well for me!!

Thanks for the reminder..I haven't thought about that in years.:)

  5. I am so sorry if this has been discussed, but when I saw 204 pages of post, I'm taking a chance someone will be kind enough to answer again.

I was on the Conquest in 2005. The Captain's night where drinks were served where held in different rooms during the week. On the Dream in 2009 they waited until the last night of the cruise to do this, plus it was in a room that held about 400.

I guess I am about to complain. Having it on the last night of the cruise was a hardship for some. That is the night you have to pack by a certain time and get up early the next day.

I'm just trying to find out if anyone knew the schedule of this on the Conquest for 2011/12? Will be sailing in March 2012.

    Thank you

Not sure what your looking for....if your looking for Captains night then it's still the first formal night with photo op's, etc. (also discounted drinks). If you just looking for free drinks then you have the 'past guest party and on the last day the 'Farewell Party'. It is informal so it should not effect your packing.
