We had tables 34, 35, 36, & 37. There were 20 in our group. I assure you that we were NOT offered champagne or wine. We were not offered tuna fish, turkey or any kind of beef sandwiches. We had the cheese sandwiches or sliced egg sandwiches and whole apples for dessert. That was it.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Did the crew say what the problem was? Was there any compensation offered?
Also, I think I just validated my cruise related social media surveillance system! Can't believe how far in advance I found out about this!
What was the reasoning the person gave you when they asked you to remove the post?
BTW--I think there should be some compensation...the cost of a nice meal perhaps. They can NOT blame the weather.

No power = no food, no lights, no toilets, etc.
We already missed Glacier Bay the day before.
We had a group of 20 on 4 tables together in MDR, they sat anytime dinners at one of our tables screwing up the entire group with the final arrivals not being able to dine.
Gifts (3 different) sent to members of group in cabin stated they were from an incorrect source. (all correct on paperwork...error had to be on ship)
NOT a well run operation.

I was on her and yes they lost all power.

Reminds me of a cruise I took 30+ years ago on Princess. I took a large Paddington Bear with me as my roomie. He was the hit of the ship-especially with the mostly English crew. The cabin attendant left him marmalade & cookies, something every night. Crew started to ask me to bring him around. Girls wanted to dance with him. The friend I was traveling with originally thought I was nuts, but admitted at the end of the cruise that it really worked well for me!!
Thanks for the reminder..I haven't thought about that in years.:)

I prefer EZ Cruise parking.

We are sailing Conquest in Dec and have only been on her one other time back in March 2008 so I am guessing she has been in drydock since then? Is she scheduled for drydock before going to NOLA? Thanks!
Yes a drydock in 2009 and one b4 arriving in NOLA.

Haven't seen a real current one Randy. Guess I'll just be missing you this week, off on the Ecstasy on Monday. I'll put a drink on my tab for you at Wet Wendy's in Coz--we'll be there the day b4 the Conquest.
-
Your welcome....Enjoy the Conquest over there in NOLA. She's a great ship.

I am so sorry if this has been discussed, but when I saw 204 pages of post, I'm taking a chance someone will be kind enough to answer again.
I was on the Conquest in 2005. The Captain's night where drinks were served where held in different rooms during the week. On the Dream in 2009 they waited until the last night of the cruise to do this, plus it was in a room that held about 400.
I guess I am about to complain. Having it on the last night of the cruise was a hardship for some. That is the night you have to pack by a certain time and get up early the next day.
I'm just trying to find out if anyone knew the schedule of this on the Conquest for 2011/12? Will be sailing in March 2012.
Thank you
Not sure what your looking for....if your looking for Captains night then it's still the first formal night with photo op's, etc. (also discounted drinks). If you just looking for free drinks then you have the 'past guest party and on the last day the 'Farewell Party'. It is informal so it should not effect your packing.

Thanks Judy! I'm doing the Carnival Magic TA this October and it cost me $1398 for an inside solo. This is a great deal!!
Pat
Yes, mine is $1598 with $200 OBC--same thing. Used the Eurpoe sale so I could get cat4 upgrade. Looks like we are about right on pricing then.

I get CRS too, that's why I started doing my blog. (link in sig) There are ten Conquest reviews on there both eastern and western. The elegant nights were different depending on which your sailing.

Thanks for info!

Interesting comments about Steakhouse--thanks!

I just booked Princess Crown 5 days inside Dec.18 at the pp rate for 1 total $555.00. This makes it only $100.00 per day and it could go down this far out. This is the first time I have ever on Princess had no extra cost for single.
Thanks for update--would love to see something like this in the summer.:)

Marc is great. Wouldn't be a Conquest cruise without him.:)

Bump. Any recent Conquest cruisers confirm Go/No Go on the Mongolian Grill? (Note, NOT PCs Wok, that's different)
I've been trying to confirm myself. I spoke to someone who was on last week and specifically asked, she didn't know what I was talking about so maybe not.

Does anyone know the price of DOD in a collectable cup vs. plastic?
It used to be less, but now that they have the DoD card it may be the same.
i.e. At one time it was the same as the refill price. Good question, let us know for sure.
Enjoy your cruise.
Did something happen on the Statendam?

Again...that was NOT offered to our four tables.
Also any decent hot food on Lido did not get there until after 11:00 pm.
