  1. On the Oosterdam right now. It is 9:20 pm and there is no live music anywhere on the ship. There is the orange party with dj on the pool deck and that is it. Hal needs to do better. Lois
  2. Not sure about the app but you can do it by logging in to the website,. go into your booking , select packages, laundry packages. For my upcoming Europe cruise it is $10.50 per day. I think it was cheaper on my Alaska cruise. For some reason it is more expensive to do laundry in Europe.
  3. I believe this is exactly what the unlimited laundry is for. If you are going to wait until you have a full bag, it is often times cheaper to just pay by the bag vice buying the unlimited package. (Unless you are getting the free laundry.) We will be on th Oosterdam for 35 days. We plan to send out a bag a week which is much cheaper than buying the unlimited laundry for 35 days. But if I did buy it, I would be sending out partial bags several times a week.
  4. I'm also wondering what would qualify as abuse. If it is unlimited and you send out several bags during the cruise is that abuse?
  5. so do you know the answer? Is it a free bag of laundry or is it unlimited?
  6. Is the free laundry for 4 stars unlimited?
  7. I didn't know you could buy it by the day. I will keep it in mind for cruises that I don't get the HIA for.
  8. Called back and was able to get it done. Not sure why the first guy couldn't do it. Thanks everyone.
  9. I had all the information and he still I could only book for 4 if I paid for 2. Were you able to use. the dining credits for the other cabins?
  10. I'm traveling with DH in one room, and my sisters, in another room, and I'm trying to make reservations for the 4 of us using our HIA credits. Is there any way to do this? I can't add the second booking number online. I tried calling, gave them both booking numbers but they still couldn't use the credits for the second room, and wanted me to pay for the other 2. Anyone had any success with this? Thanks Lois
  11. This is what I got from HALs document department. Bolding is mine. We have decided not to get the visa and stay on the ship as we have been twice before. From HAL: The port agents in Egypt have advised Canadian guests should continue to obtain a physical visa prior to boarding the ship. Currently for Alexandria Canadian guests will be considered in transit guests via a cruise ship and can obtain an entry stamp like other cruise guests. Canadian guests can board and remain onboard while in Egypt without a visa. If you apply for a physical visa via an embassy they only issue visas 90 days prior to entry for this itinerary that would be on Monday, July 15, 2024. Currently, Canadians are restricted nationalities due to heightened tensions with the Egyptian government and must have a physical visa to go ashore at certain ports. Electronic visas issued before October 1, 2023, remain valid until their expiry date, however, are no longer issued. Guests without a visa will have to remain on board at certain ports. This could change, however, the only way to guarantee that guests will be able to get off the ship and not have to remain on board would be to get a physical visa prior to boarding the ship. The Egypt Embassies in Canada issue visas 90 days prior to entry to entry, so for this itinerary the first date they would issue visas would be Monday, July 15, 2024.
  12. Did you have any issues contacting EKOL? I had an question about the length of one of their tours in Istanbul. I have sent a msg on their website and also emailed them. It has been over a week and I haven't had a response from either.
  13. Makes it sound like a prison!
  14. Thanks, but the flights are just after noon so no time for a transfer with activity, will just be going straight to the airport.
  15. Do you mean the excursion credit? When is your next cruise? We are on the Oosterdam Oct 10.
  16. Can you use the shore excursion credit from the HIA package to book transfers to the airport at the end of the cruise? Thanks
  17. Another shade of greyhound vodka, st Germain and grapefruit juice
  18. My sister and I both bought 2 vases each on out cruise in June. When we got home and she used hers, she found that one of them leaks. It looks like the bottom seams were properly glazed so the water seeps through the pottery. Anyone else have this happen? Is there anything she can do to get a replacement? Thanks Lois
  19. Maybe it's up to the chef? We were on a different ship, the NA. If we do another Alaska cruise and DH want to do this again, I'll make sure he has the picture with him to show the chef! Regardless of presentation, I hope you all enjoyed the salmon. Lois
  20. Wow, That is quite the difference! My DH was given a sheet to fill out for how he wanted it cooked and which sides to serve with it. It was cooked and presented beautifully and the sides were served family style. I would be disappointed with the way you were served your fish. Did they bring the rest of the fish or did you just get a piece each?
  21. Get your lobster in one of the Canadian ports. You will pay 3 times the price in Bar Harbor.
  22. You are right about repetitive but HAL did have a new show on the Volendam for the Canada/New England cruise in June. It is Breton Thunder and it was fabulous. It was music of Cape Breton and the East coast. I am on the Oosterdam in Oct and I'm hoping they have some shows related to the area it is sailing in as well.
