I don't trust any of my hotel reservations for Dec. 2, 2017. I went ahead and booked a beachfront airbnb with host, Yises (who has a few other available apt's). We are getting a studio apt., all in for $120 (including cleaning and booking fees). I emailed Yises and inquired about doing a luggage drop at the property prior to official 3 PM check in time (so my husband and I can get to enjoying a beach day on Isla Verde Beach) and he was super accommodating. He'll allow us to drop our luggage at our unit at 11 AM (the time of checkout for the party vacating our unit). He even confirmed that there is water and power. Now I'm relieved to not have to worry about hotels canceling on me with minimal notice. Isla Verde Marriott Courtyard confirmed they won't honor my reservation over the phone, but they haven't emailed me or alerted me in any way, except that I called them direct.
We have refundable pre & post cruise AirBNB reservations as well! Plans B, C & D!

It isn’t over until the fat lady sings. Hope they do honor your reservation but many people have been told that by hotels and have later been canceled.
I think you missed that they just checked in - as in they are at the hotel now...

I miss the old Jack Sparrow type pirate invasion/battle with the rappelling characters & engaging battle. The dancing deck party is nice for the little ones, but it definitely is something I'll skip next time, and just arrive at fireworks time.

We find that at the end of the week you have an expensive portfolio full of the same canned poses. We've gotten the book a couple times, just to get it, but this next time, I think we will just buy a couple single photos & skip the lines.

I found a lot of fish extender info on Pinterest.
Go to guest services when you arrive onboard to register for the free but limited quantity events like gingerbread house decorating & princess meet & greets etc.
I believe the gingerbread house decorating is a whole family event, not a kids club event. But I might be wrong on that.

We just finished cruising on the Fantasy this past Saturday. I would suggest if you do you do the Disney cruise to select the late dining option. I think that most people with small children push for the early dining option. We chose late dining with our two children (who did not cry nor scream even once during the week) and I don't think I heard a crying kid in a dining room the entire time. I did see many tables of just adults of varying ages visiting and having a grand old time.

I was just there yesterday. (Sad to leave) There were 4 free ice cream stations, like the ones on board. There is fresh cut fruit by Cookies & Cookies 2 also. Delicious!

They bring the food from the ship, but the menu is different than onboard.

Thanks moki'smommy, I really only want to haul the minimum along from South Dakota, & these go with almost every other dinner dress up outfit I planned.

Plus, the kids areas seem to be heavily supervised, so I don't think the CMs probably allow too much flattening of little ones by bigger kiddos! :)

I'm one of those annoying parents who want their kids together, in fact that was one of the deciding factors that led us to go Disney. My kids are 5 & 7 and play together every day & are not super outgoing, so to have them be able to to the kids club activities together means more enjoyment for them & by extension, me.

I was on the phone with a Disney reservation agent last week discussing the Remy dress code. When she asked what husband and I would be wearing, I described & she said that my shoes may not be acceptable because they were a sandal.
I had pictured the sandals they were referring to I the dress code statement to be brown, leathery, flat soled, comfortable for walking or waterproof Teva type sandals.
Not this:
Am I wrong? Will these be frowned upon & I'll be underdressed?
Thanks!
6 more sleeps & we sail!!!

I got an email from Disney.

Well well, turns out my upcoming cruise is a HoTHS cruise! Spooky

Aubreysmom09, your taste in movies is flawless :)
I've never done a Halloween cruise so can't offer advice there, but as a Nightmare fan, my vote is go Disney!

Great! Thanks!

We wanted to do the Palo brunch on a day at sea, but they were already booked. :(

Maybe I should splurge & do a dinner at each. I finished booking the rest of our port excursions today, so heck, what's another $50 - $75 + ;)

I would enjoy that too, I'm a Midwestern steak girl at heart!

Bizarre, my profile pic in your quoted reply is the one from this winter walking my daughter to school with my eyelashes frozen shut (-40F wind chills, good times). Makes me even more glad to be sweating it out at 90F here now!

Ex techie,
I know you wouldn't intentionally be rude, I've read so many of your replies on this board & count your voice as one I can take as truth. I thought maybe just a case of the delayed Mondays :). I know it probably gets old having newbs like me ask the same simple questions over & over.
