Just remove the auto gratuities the last night of your cruise. Problem solved.

I think they should just stop calling it gratuity or tip and just call it a resort fee or just do away with it and add it into the price of the cruise and that would be it. When it is automatically charged to you before you have finished receiving the service it is not under any definition a gratuity like they call it.

The best move is to remove auto grats on the morning of disembarkation so you still get good service and also save money. Tell your room steward you have to go to your car real quick to get them money for a tip and then just don’t go back.

The part where you said the crew are slaves. Not only is that not true, but its also a little insensitive to people throughout history who have been forced into true slavery.

They are slaves. They should not be working for free, the cruise line should pay them a wage using a portion of the thousands of dollars I pay for my cruise.

Most people don’t tip extra. I would guess maybe 5-10% of cruisers tip extra. 18% tip for drinks is more than generous. I tip extra because i’m a schmuck and too nice. You’re going to get the same drinks and same service whether you tip extra or not.
