  1. we did a B2B Journey's cruise on the Dream, it was a 10 and 11 day cruise. We would never consider a S2S as embarking and debarking are the worst 2 parts of a cruise and would not want to do this twice

I'm jealous!! I would love to do 21 days. My only concern would be at the end of 21 days I would have to be rolled off at the end of the cruise as cargo from over eating!!

I'm surprised some friends of ours had to get off after 7 days they were going stir crazy?

  2. We have done a few B2B cruises and one S2S (a side to side get off one ship and jump on another) We have never done a 14 day or longer journey cruise. With that being said I think I would prefer the journey cruise. The advantages to me would be different food in the MDR every night and different entertainment every night. On a B2B you kind of get cheated a little bit on turn around day because you have to wait at a certain time in a certain place to get off the ship get through customs and back on which really cuts into one of your days.

  3. We have done a few B2B cruises and loved every minute of them! The last time we did a side 2 Side cruise. We got off the Glory after 7 days and jumped on the Splendor for another 8 days. We had a great time.

Some of the "bad" parts of a back to back: The same cruise director so same jokes. The shows are all repeated and of course the food is the same as last week. Doing laundry in the middle so you don't have to over pack. If you don't do different itineraries each week then that might be disappointing.

Positive things: You save on airfare 14 day cruise for the airfare price of a 7 day. You unpack once if you have the same room. If you saw two things on the menu and couldn't decide now you can try the other entree you didn't get last week. Because you saw all the shows last week you can spend more time doing different things or more alone time. The crew remembers you from last week. You go home more rested after 14 days of cruising! You are more familiar with the layout of the ship. These are just a few advantages, but there are lots more!

    Enjoy yourselves! We did.

  4. We had an older Carnival credit card and they discontinued the program after we had earned a bunch of points. We were told use them or loose them. We managed to book a cruise and were able to use some of the points.

After that fiasco we got rid of the card and use a different cash rewards card. Now we can use the rewards for any cruise line or airline or whatever. This has worked out much better for us by not being held captive to one reward i.e. Carnival. We currently have the Citi card double cash 2% and redeem about $1500-$2000 per year.

  5. I ordered 2 $100 Carnival e-cards through Drivewise on 7/31 and haven't received them. I've ordered several cards through the app in the past without a problem. I can't find anywhere on the app or site how to get these cards, if they sent them at all. Can't find any way to have them resent. Anyone know?

Check your credit card and see if you were ever charged. I thought I bought one and the transaction wasn't on the credit card. On the other hand I was charged for a card I never received, but the transaction dropped off my credit card a couple of days later.

  6. We have never attended the adult comedy it just isn't our thing. We have never had much trouble getting a seat in the "family" comedy. When we leave there is always a huge line of people waiting to get into the adult comedy. I didn't think there was room for all of the people in line, but there was.

  7. Surprised with your number of cruises they did not do your laundry for you. We've always enjoyed the Platinum laundry service to come home with clean clothes. Would be really to have started the 2nd half with 6 bags of clean clothes.

Also, I've read that Carnival we transport your bags for you on a side by side?

    Have these things changed?

    Thanks for a great review.

We aren't quite platinum. They changed the requirements a few years ago otherwise I think we would have been already. We are Looking forward to being platinum and using the free laundry!

  8. I must say I've never stayed in one that provided any meals. Usually it's just a furnished house or apartment that we have for however long we book for. We usually just go out to eat or buy groceries and cook at the place. Like you, we always either have a rental car and/or use Uber.

Well it's in the name "air bed and breakfast". Just kidding! I guess I assumed most or some of them provided breakfast. This was our first time with AirBNB.

We have only stayed in one BNB and they provided a fantastic breakfast and gave us the leftovers to take home.

  9. Great review, we were on the Splendor last month. I'm glad to see other people on CC with positive experiences with AirBnB. We've done AirBnB several times in Miami as well as other parts of the country and love it. Our apartment in Miami Beach was cheaper per night than any hotel room plus it was much nicer. But there are a few people on here who are totally against AirBnB/VRBO and swear it's a scam.

Thanks! The AirBNB we used was definitely cheaper than a hotel. The only downfall was the one we used didn't provide any kind of breakfast although we could of prepared one if we had bought groceries. The other downfall was no transportation to the pier or airport we had to provide our own, but we still saved money!

The Glory is a great ship! We had a great time as you could tell. I did enjoy the Guys and the Blue Iguana food options and wished they were on the Splendor. You guys and your kids will have a wonderful time. Hey you are on a cruise how "bad" could it get? If you have any questions let me know.
