  1. We used Flybus from the airport to the bus terminal. Depending where your hotel is located, the smaller buses don’t always take you to your hotel, they stop at bus stops close to your hotel so you may still have a walk.
  2. Straight off the ship at 5:30am with our luggage. Monday 10 July we got to the airport in 35 mins. Check in took 20 minutes. Security 5 minutes. Passport control less than 2 minutes our flight was at 9:00;am. Flight left on time.
  3. We have just come back from a cruise with Viking and found the food in WC , Manfredis ,the pool bar and the restaurant to be somewhat tasteless except for perhaps one night in the restaurant. Our meal in Manfredis was absolutely woeful to the extent that we complained and spoke to the chef as well. If I was in a restaurant that served up a meal like that I would not have paid for it. The meal was lamb cutlets on a bed of white bean mash. thin cutlets, tough and chewy and all you could taste was the bean mash. The ship was outstanding but staff, service and food well below a cruise line that is supposed to be a premier line. Entertainment was very good. But Viking cruises, not for us again!
  4. And if you want to move it to another cruise you have to pay another $1000 deposit per person. They won’t use the previous deposit of $1000 per person as a deposit on another cruise.
  5. Can someone enlighten me on how to add your credit card details when choosing an excursion. I’ve selected excursions but can’t see where to pay! I’ve been through all the guest documents etc and can’t find anything. I am at a loss with this whole system. Seasoned cruising but first time with Viking has me stumped!
  6. First time cruisers with Viking. Sorry to sound a bit naive but what is an ACH?. We were hoping to just pay with credit card for our excursions which we are hopefully going to book on Thursday.
  7. Sorry stand corrected on that. I read a post by Peregrina previously and looked into Grayline. Thanks Peregrina. Grayline have been most helpful. The tour cost is 126Eur for two with pickup and drop off. We are being picked up at Hallgrímskirkja Church. I would definitely email them. We had a response back the next morning.
  8. We asked the same question and We have just booked a Golden Circle tour with Gray Line. They pick up from some hotels depending where they are (they have bus stops that they pick up from) and will drop you at the cruise port afterwards. You just need to make sure you advise the guide. remember it’s only part of the Golden Circle.

  10. First time Viking this year. Reading all the comments on excursions and dining not available to DV guests makes me wonder what we have let ourselves in for. It all sounds very elitist. Excursions should be open to everyone who has paid. If you don’t want to do an excursion, so be it but there should be some fairness to everyone. Maybe this will be our one and only cruise with them, other cruise lines at least give you the opportunity. Specialty restaurants do nothing for me but if Viking “guarantee” one night per cruise and they can’t deliver, sounds a bit like false advertising to me.

  12. Thank you. We will really have to look at this more closely and see if it will work. Alternatively it will be another day/night in Reykjavik, which I suppose can’t be bad.
  13. Thank you. We are arriving a couple of days before but do need to leave on the 10th to Uk. will look at the roll call for our cruise.
  14. Thank you. Mmm we are trying to depart 0845. Can I ask why you have to be at the airport 3 hrs before flights? Is it because of the amount of people at the airport? If this is the case we’re definitely not going to make an early flight. Our invoice says no flights earlier than 9:00am.
