  1. Defies logic!!! And for them not to get back in touch with you is very poor customer service. The program is very clearly outlined on the website (well clear for RCCL) so you would think it couldn’t be open for different interpretations based on individual HDs. I’m really sorry you didn’t get the full benefit. Wendy
  2. That’s crazy for there to be such a difference within a few weeks. We had a lovely lady host who couldn’t do enough for us. I hope for our 2020 Oct Harmony sailing we don’t have your HD as we have the UDP again!
  3. We were on the Oct 13th Harmony sailing with the UDP. Had embarkation lunch at Jamie’s. Dinner at Hibachi and just had to pay the extra $4 for two proteins. Several times had chips, salsa and guacamole at Sabor late afternoon (they ended up joking with us they were keeping a table for us!) and then dinner elsewhere. One night we had this at Sabor, dinner at Solarium (stupid decision but we had enjoyed it the previous year) and then dessert at Jamie’s all with absolutely no fuss. I hate confrontation so having to deal with the issues present cruisers are having would have driven me nuts. All the restaurants we were at understood the plan - wonder how they feel about the new HD directives? Wendy

  5. Just got our email too - blast! I’d even arranged an early shuttle ride. Wendy
  6. Have a great cruise! I so love following your travels and well done to Owen for how well his school year is going so far. I’m sure you said that you were getting a cabana again this time at Coco Cay but I could have been imagining it. I’ve got a beach bed booked for Chill Island but may change it to South Beach (that option just popped up for the Oct 13th Harmony Sailing) so am looking forward to seeing your photos again. Wendy
  7. I have the same dilemma! I found a YouTube video of a South Beach Beach Bed and they seem a bit further out. Wendy
  8. I’m very lucky in that the boot is now off and as I travel with my 85 year old mum I will, for once, go at her pace! We go to Orlando every year and thankfully this time we hadn’t planned theme parks - we’ll tour the resorts and spend time at Disney Springs - lots of great bars to sit in and people watch!
  9. Have a wonderful cruise! We fly to Orlando 3 weeks yesterday for a week on Harmony of the Seas (we like Oasis Class but do the unlimited dining plan to avoid the MDR) and a week in Orlando. I’m recovering from a broken leg so will have to take it easier than normal. Wendy
  10. I booked directly through RC in the UK and got the initial email about the OBC and the follow up one for our Harmony Oct 2020 cruise. OBC actually suits us better as we have the unlimited dining plan. Wendy
  11. Thank you so much for all the details! Little things like the tram to the arrival plaza makes it so much easier to plan when you are travelling with somebody elderly or mobility challenged like myself - recovering from broken leg! Did you have any problems using your unlimited dining package at Sabor in the afternoon? I’d love to go for drinks and some snacks when we come back onboard from Cococay. Oh and I thought it was in the “rules” you had to have a drink before 10am with the package!! Wendy
  12. So that answers my question - you’ve been able to get lunch on embarkation day with your unlimited dining!! Have a fantastic cruise! Wendy
  13. Yes, that’s true but I like to have everything sorted in advance and start a vacation relaxing! As I said probably totally a mute point as the bid will probably be unsuccessful but wanted to show why some people would want to know in advance
  14. In our case, yes I would do something different. If my bid from an Oceanview balcony on Harmony to Grand Suite was successful I would cancel our internet/Key prepurchases and possibly the unlimited dining package too. Leaving it till the day before probably would mean I couldn’t cancel those. Of course I don’t think the bid will be successful! Wendy
  15. I wouldn’t always trust the reps! Have you tried to book it yourself? It’s in the speciality dining section. I’ve never been on Solstice but booked many times, in advance for Reflection and Silhouette. Wendy
