Apparently Celebrity doesn’t want to sell any cruises today.

I tried 3 random sailings on 3 different browsers on two different devices.

    Or is it just me?

However, I was able to log in with my new password.

    IT baby steps.🙄🤣

And since when are staterooms and suites on cruise ships referred to as “rooms” anyway?😂🤣😂

Hmm...logging in with the new password is big!  Especially when you probably knew your old password by heart and also knew you hadn't changed it!

Regarding no rooms available, my TA told me that when that happens, they've gone into their system and are usually about to change rates.  The glass half full gal in me wants to think those new rates will be better...

Sorry my bad, I assumed it was clear enough from my question that I was the type who finds solace and pleasure in life only in geeky pursuits. I thought it was a given that  the most amount of fun anyone could have in a cruise was transforming the cabin into a man cave and fidgeting with the tv inputs and cables. I cannot thank you enough for opening my eyes to these unheard (by me) alternative ways of enjoyment, especially because they were so far outside the scope of my question. It's true, one never knows the wealth of incredible information that others are willing to go out of their way to provide. I feel truly humbled and blessed.

    Best response….ever!

  3. So glad you had a nice cruise. Your itinerary is actually one of my favorites, sans Grand Cayman. I’ve never been on Apex but we will embark on Edge in a few weeks, also in a MC suite. Am I to understand that you asked your room steward/butler to empty your fridge?  And then they filled it with your requests?  I’m not sure how that works or if we will even bother but like you, I don’t care to be charged for something I didn’t consume…wouldn’t chase down the minimal charges but how interesting that they occurred on the last day when you’re not there to dispute.

Question though, if not Celebrity, then who for your next cruise adventure?  I agree that, like you we no longer see the value in suites but I’m finding that there are still some good deals to be had once in a while in other categories.

Thanks for the review from one of my favorite CC’ers. 😊

We did not get service like this in our Regent Grand Suite a few weeks ago. I will need my head examined to ever consider another Regent cruise again.

Oh dear!  Such a distressing thing to read from you Morph!  Our Grandeur cruise is next April. DH says he’s looking forward to high brow service. I’ve told him to temper his expectations. 😳

Thanks to all who replied.  It really seems like it's hit and miss.   We were planning on Mediterranean cruise.  To fly all that way plus money for a cruise, I think we'll stick with the older ships where we know we'll have a good night sleep.

We are cruising the Med next year and if sailing with Celebrity, we'd make the same decision as you regarding an older ship.  The Med is so port intensive that it's not about the ship anyway.  Having said that, we are booked on Regent Grandeur...a ship the same age as Ascent and I have read several reports of popping noise as well as paper thin walls.  They don't build cruise ships like they used to, I guess.

  6. I would sign up for the card if it included travel insurance like some other cards.  Captain's Club points isn't enough of an incentive for me.  We are currently Elite.  I'd have to take another 5 cruises per year for the next 5 years to get to Zenith so 50 points won't move the needle much.  And I don't cruise based on loyalty.  I go where the best deal happens to be for the level of service we desire.

    From the MoveUp T's & C's:

    • You get to keep the promotions you already have. However, no additional promotions will be added to your reservation.

    And:

    • You will earn points based on the original category paid for.

So I take it inclusions are not the same as promotions.  For example, if we won a move up from Sky to Royal, we'd get the included specialty dining but not additional promotional incentives that may be currently running.  I just looked at the minimum bid to move up to a RS from a SS and it's $1400 pp.  Nahh, I think we will stay put.

I did several move up bids on edge to go from sky suite to upper suites , I went 4K then lowered it a little and still got the penthouse, it was a amazing vacation to celebrate my wife’s birthday and our anniversary.

I have considered doing this for our upcoming Edge cruise but we booked back when gratuities were included as well as the OBC for suites.  I'm wondering if we win a move up would this change our booking so that we'd lose those original perks?

We had banging and popping in a mid ship sky suite on Ascent last week but maintenance was able to place multiple shims around the veranda door frame and then recaulk the seams and it was totally gone.

Our sky suite was cabin number was 10120.  We had no noise at all.  There must be a way to map the noise for future travelers.  I'm glad they were able to resolve your noise issues.  I wonder why caulk and shims works for some and not others...

  10. If you consume alcohol, avoid the frozen drinks as they are full of sugar.  I like the spa cafe for light bites for breakfast and lunch.  My approach is to avoid bread and fill up on veggies and fruit...the buffet has lots of fresh options from salads to raw veggies (on salad bar), fruit, lots of protein options.  It CAN be done...but I tend to diet before any cruise to lose a few pounds so that the inevitable (for me) cruise weight leaves me with a net gain of zero.  We cruise at the end of May so are currently avoiding all alcohol and starchy foods.  Can't wait for the reprieve of embarkation day!

Oh and a tip I thought of while enjoying a long shower with that wonderful Co Bigelow body wash

Thanks for your live review!  We are looking forward to the Beyond for our anniversary in November. Regarding the bath products, are these provided in the big pumps on the wall or do they still provide the smaller travel sizes?
